Hoid knew Heralds over 4500 years before WOK
Toaster Retribution replied to FiveLate's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I agree with the sentiment that we shouldn't read too much into it. However, it is likely that Hoid has met the Heralds before. He is interested in the events on Roshar, and I guess that he was there during at least some of the Desolations. Saying that he knows the Heralds would be a stretch though. -
Typecast for Serkis in the form of that he always gets mo-cap characters. Personality wise, not necessarily.

We know for a fact that Scadrial is extremely good tech-wise. But we haven't heard from or about Sel during the Era 2/Stormlight, so its hard to tell how good they are now. The same thing applies for Taldain.

I dont know if there is a dedicated theory about MeLaan and TenSoon worldhopping, but we know that other kandra has done so. Brandon was asked once, and refused to say wether or not TenSoon has worldhopped.

I brought up my new pet theory of Amaram as a Dustbringer on another thread. It doesn't have much evidence, and it is disputed wether or not Amaram would manage to attract any spren at all, but I'll throw it out there (it is in this thread): As for worldhoppers (Mistborn spoilers): We also have several Kandra, like TenSoon and MeLaan, who are potential worldhoppers. If Wayne survives Lost Metal, I wouldn't be surprised to find him worldhopping either.

The interpretation of the Oaths
Toaster Retribution replied to Calderis's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well, confession time, I like Amaram (along with Nalan, Mraize and Mr. T). -

I think we can agree to disagree, and thus wait and see. If we get some more Amaram POVs in Oathbringer, we can probably discuss this further. -
I'm a Bloodsealer! Where is my pet skeletons?

Nah, Iwan Rheon should voice Nightblood.

Elantris Movie Casting
Toaster Retribution replied to Nathrangking's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
My idea of it: Raoden - Matthew Lewis Sarene - Elizabeth Debicki Hrathen - Colin Farrell (yeah, this probably seems of for some, but I like it after Fantastic Beasts). Lukel - Richard Madden (because KING IN THE NORTH!!!) Shuden - John Boyega Haven´t really though about the rest. -
The interpretation of the Oaths
Toaster Retribution replied to Calderis's topic in Stormlight Archive
He is obviously convinced that they need to be done, however. He dislikes murdering spearmen, he dislikes lying, he dislikes losing Dalinars friendship. But he suffers through it all because he believes in the cause. Yes, Amaram knows that his facade is honorable, and how he should behave, and that his secret actions are despicable. It is the same with Taravangian. He never lets anyone know about the fact that he orchestrates wars, or murders people in his basement. He pretends to be a loveable old man, and is ashamed of the fact that he isn´t. The difference is, as you say, that Taravangian does what he does because he finds it absolutely necessary. However, I dont think that Amaram is going against his code. He puts up a facade that he knows that others will like, but I do believe that he thinks that bringing back the Desolations, and the Heralds, are the right thing to do, just like Mr. T thinks that murdering sick people is right. Amaram is controlled by his religion, and probably thinks that it is best for everyone if they obey the Almighty and show him proper respect, and allows him, and the Heralds, to run things again. I doubt Amaram does things for selfish reasons. His reasons are probably "for the good of all" just like Taravangians. The difference is that it is easier to understand the "save the world from cataclysm" thing Taravangian has going on, than it is understanding the "helping everyone by giving the Almighty control over society" idea that Amaram has, because that is probably a pretty outlandish concept for a lot of people. I hope this all made some sort of sense. -
Yeah, Ruin gets a crem ton of downvotes from the Scadrian population...

Those who believe in the Dustbringer theory probably doesn't think he will awaken his Blade.

Of course! Question is, what would happen if you spiked the engine pig with a Nahel bond from an Elsecaller...?

The interpretation of the Oaths
Toaster Retribution replied to Calderis's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't see why he wouldn't be a Radiant. He is steadfast in his beliefs, however wrong they may be. The spren looks for people with certain qualities, and it might be that he would fit for some of them. Just because he is wrong about Honor, and about Darkeyes, doesn't mean that he can't form a Nahel bond. In fact, Amaram might make a good Dustbringer. He is somewhat of a zealot, which means that he would harbor great hatred against the Voidbringers. He feels like someone who would be obedient against the church and Heralds. We don't know much about his bravery though, but bravery can come in different shapes or forms. In fact, one could say that he made a brave choice in bringing forth Desolations to restore power to the church. Great risks, great rewards. -
Only on the 17th Shard.

I think it is highly likely that he can, given that he uses feruchemical speed against Sazed. I'm also pretty sure that he uses allomantic steel in Era 2. And, seeing as allomantic steel is very useful, it would be wierd for Ruin not to let his best Inquisitor have it.

Hello!! And question about Dragonsteel...?

Welcome to the forums! -
I really need to reread those.

Good to know. My knowledge on Returned and Awakening is pretty bad.

Okay, lets see: Kaladin vs Arclo: I am too lazy to create a spoiler for Edgedancer info, so I just agree with what others have said. Vasher vs Raoden: The two characters I have the least knowledge on. I'd say Raoden. He can teleport, and attack from range. Marsh vs Jasnah: I disagree with most others on this. If I know Investiture right, Marshs spikes should make him harder to affect with Soulcasting. He is also very mobile (I'm pretty sure that he is both a Steelrunner and a Coinshot). He can attack from range, and has much more experience than Jasnah. And each time he wounds Jasnah will weaken her ability to use magic, since it drains her Stormlight. Denth vs Vin: Denth is fast, but Vin is way more mobile, has range, access to multiple magic abilities and is very clever. She can also heal way better than Denth can. Kelsier vs Elend: Elend has the power, but he lacks the skill and the cleverness. Kelsier himself said that Allomancy is all about tricks. And few are better tricksters than the Survivor of Hathsin. @Nohadon there should be a letter symbol near your notifications symbol. That is were you find PMs.

I agree with Tonk being a likely candidate for spikes, but I still dont get the Denth thing. Did Vasher or Lightsong have perks from being Returned?

Yay, I found a fellow swede! If you live in Stockholm, Göteborg or Malmö, it shouldn't be a problem. Check out Sci-fi bokhandeln (if you haven't heard of it before). They can probably provide it on release.

@Calderis please tell me what a Gerontarch is.
