@Calderis @Taliax Just looked in HoA. Marsh has F-speed. He uses it against Goradel. Flash-Marsh confirmed. Quote from book

Demoux and the source of everlasting life
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Mistborn
True. But compounding atium is probably easier than the normal way, if you have the resources for it. It would allow Demoux to live a pretty chill life, as long as he had a supply of Atium. Edit: Yay, 900 posts! -
@Contessa WoB for you (you are correct about Kabsal).

Okay guys, there is a Highstorm coming in 7 PM tomorrow. Expect heavy raining around the General Brandon Discussion area. The winds will continue in over the Mistborn subform, and weather will be particularly bad around the Casting discussion thread. Expect lightning and flying chasmfiends in the Cosmere Q&A section, where all the questions will blow away over to the roleplayers, which will make them severely confused. Weather will be better over at the Entertainment Discussion, thanks to Investiture from non-Brandon stories, which will make the storm less severe. This has been Highstorm Report with Toaster Retribution. Have a good day/night/whatever depending on your timezone. Now, over to Keeping up with the Kholins.

Top 10 theories going into Oathbringer
Toaster Retribution replied to bdoble97's topic in Stormlight Archive
@maxal I definitely agree with that we all look for different things in the things we read. I am probably affected by GRRM, since I am a big fan of his. So far though, Brandon has filled my hubger for death in his stories (I basically sound like Odium or Ruin right now, don't I?). I have a question for you though. Lets say that Adolin dies at the end of Book 5. Would you mind it then? -
I really like the mini-boss image. Interesting way of thinking. Have an upvote!

Abercrombie is good if you like dark, gritty fantasy. When it comes to Straff, I guess I could buy your reasoning. I liked him at first when he reminded me of Tywin Lannister. That respect disappeared when I learned how incompetent he really was.

Top 10 theories going into Oathbringer
Toaster Retribution replied to bdoble97's topic in Stormlight Archive
@maxal We have different ideas about killing apparently. I like when characters die, partly because of the stakes, and partly because of the emotion, and the fact that something happens. Sometimes I even get disappointed when characters doesn't die. -
Top 10 theories going into Oathbringer
Toaster Retribution replied to bdoble97's topic in Stormlight Archive
I doubt Adolin will last the entire Stormlight series, and I also dont think that it is wrong to kill him. It should happen in a satisfying way that benefits the story, yes. But other than that, Brandon should be able to kill anyone of his characters in my opinion. Given the WoB that @maxal mentioned, I doubt that Adolin will die in Oathbringer specifically (though he could probably reach a higher wordcount than Szeth even if he did). I dont think Oathbringer will give Adolin a happy ending though, but that is a completely different thing. -

I should have named the thread Extesian and the source of Everlasting WoBs. -

The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
Toaster Retribution replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Actually, Yms entire race, the Irali, follow that belief. They seem to be worldhoppers too, its pretty interesting. -
A Fullborn could compound bronze to binge-read all the Cosmere books five times in a row.
-
Out of the left-field idea: what if Demoux was a Twinborn, and can compound Atium to keep himself alive. Extremely unlikely, I know, but I want to throw it out here so that the rest of you can have something fun to tear apart during the weekend.

Logen Ninefingers is pretty likeable. I can buy the rest though. Most of the cast are crembags (although well-written crem bags, but I guess that is irrelevant here).

Books, Movies and Show You Did Not Like
Toaster Retribution replied to Draginon's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Well, thats a relief to hear, because man, he was boring. But yeah, I really felt for Leo, and I found him funny and well-written. But opinions are bound to be different -
Books, Movies and Show You Did Not Like
Toaster Retribution replied to Draginon's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I only read the first Heroes of Olympus book (though I read the entire PJ-series). I though Jason was a horribly boring and flat character. I liked Leo though, he was by far the best part of that book. The PJ-series is awesome though, great stuff all the time (except for book 2 which was a bit boring). The fifth one was brilliant. -
Having Taravangian be right would be a good story, but not for Brandons fanbase. If GRRM or Joe Abercrombie wrote Stormlight, it would be storming perfect. On the subject of antagonists, I symphatize with and like a lot of antagonists. I think it has to do with what their goals are, and how they work as people. That is why Taravangian is so great, because he is a good person forced to do bad things. You feel symphaty for him, you might even see him as a hero. But he is still the villain. Having a villain be symphathetic and likeable is always preferable. It gives the story depth and complexity, and makes it way more engaging, and realistic. People like Taravangian, Denth and Miles makes the reader care on another level than for example Straff Venture, who is just a total crembag of epic porportions (seriously, is there anyone who likes Straff?)

Nah, I don't think it goes too fast. Some stuff feels a bit unexplained regarding the characters past, but I guess that will be explained later. I dont see why Yurik rushed the Guildmaster as soon as she made her proposal though. It feels wierd that he couldn't control his temper a bit more.

theory Kaladins potential for extra?
Toaster Retribution replied to StormblessDave's topic in Stormlight Archive
This is an interesting idea, but I hope its not true. The reason? Kaladin already steals the spotlight all the time. He saves the Kholin army in WoK, he saves everyone from Szeth in the middle of WoR, Adolins duels ends up with him as the hero, he kills a Chasmfiend, saves Elhokar, and then defeats Szeth at the climax. I feel like Kaladin becoming an Edgedancer all of a sudden would place far too much focus on his character, at the expense of others. -
Why would the Ghostbloods want her? Unless they think she can further their goal in some way, they wont care about her. It would be neat if Mraize blowgunned her though.
-
This would actually be really cool. If Jakamav became Highprince and allied himself with Ruthar, Ialai and possibly Amaram, we could have a pretty cool group of villains. I would like to see more Jakamav.

Oh, not really a Radiant (although you mever know for sure about him), but Hoid is a possible, maybe even likely antagonist. Remember what he said to Dalinar: I will watch this world burn to get what I want.
-
I really like this idea. Personally, I think that some kind of conflict between the Radiants will happen sooner or later. I think we need to draw a line between antagonist and evil. I can for example see Shallan as an antagonist, but not as an evil person. I am personally positive toward @Calderis idea about Taln. I also believe that Shallan and the Ghostbloods will become too friendly with eachother. Renarin is another one who could possibly take a darker turn.

If I understood the posts here correctly, you also need aluminum to remove connection from the bracelet. I might be wrong though, as I'm bad at understanding this kind of stuff. @Calderis am I wrong?
