  1. Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking. Just thought I'd drop this here in case there were any random theorys on the subject
  2. So reading WoK I came across this. In the chapter "The journey" Dalinar is quoting the in book way of kings to Sadeas and Elhokar, in this scene he is reciting the passage where Nohadon travels to urithiru and when relaying to his people why he did this he quotes: Yes, I could have traveled quickly. But all men have the same ultimate destination. Whether we find our end in a hallowed sepulchre or a pauper's ditch, ALL SAVE THE HERALDS THEMSELVES MUST DINE WITH THE NIGHTWATCHER. (All caps used for emphasis which is mine. On mobile so no time to figure out how to use bold lol) Now the common theory(or canon I'm not to sure) is that the nightwatcher is cultivation. So I ask this: if this passage is true why must all people meet the nightwatcher before death?
  3. So I'm doing a reread of WoK right now and just finished Dalinar's vision of feverstone keep and noticed something....... interesting. As Dalinar runs out into the group of KR and begs them to tell him why, he says that he almost hears a scream as the KR drop their shardblades and walk away. Sounds to me like the scream a proto radiant or KR hears from a dead blade. Could this be a sign of his progression? Or is it just because he's in a vision? Thoughts
  4. Sounds pretty sweet. So by pattern in shadesmare do you mean like the geometric head spren? Also if you can convince him to do some action scenes that could be sweet. Like when kaladin leaps the chasm in WoK
  5. @Ciridae you are correct in brandon has said that it's an in world mechanic to explain why the Roshar continent hasn't eroded down to nothing with the constant highstorms. I can't remember exactly where it was but I watch a lot of his book signings and Q&A's on youtube and I'm pretty sure that's where I found it
  6. I just got past the same part on my current reread. I always took the "glow" as figurative
  7. No worries. Just tell buddy that their art is sick
  8. This looks awesome. I agree that they resemble stormform more. I always saw warform as having big chunks of carapace for their armor. That and I've always saw their head pieces like big (really)wide horn type things
  9. As we found out in edgedancer Mayhaps Dalina has become a proto radiant by living the first oath/ideal without speaking it
  10. @maxal thank you. You said what i wanted to but more beautifully and eloquently than I could have
  11. Pagerunner I'm not disputing that. All I'm saying is that the windrunner will have different oaths than kaladin . But I would like to extend my thanks for supplying the quote
  12. The Queen dies in the next book and Elhokar and the lopen's mom become an item
  13. Some of my favorites have been mentioned already. I do find myself rather partial to kaladin being strung up for the highstorm. Even knowing kal would survive it still gets me every time I read it and his eyes pop open after
  14. I don't know if your line of thinking is correct. Brandon said when he was talking about the new windrunner that the ideals aren't the same for all KR even if they are in the same order. Talking about that is actually what had him announce as it were the fact that there will be a second windrunner
  15. This sounds a fair bit like the "cousin spren" theory. Although I do like the idea of the gemstones being added to the plate later idea as it runs in line with the fact that the gemstones on shardblades were added later
  16. Rasarr, thank you Elhokar was who I ment not gavilar.
  17. Isla that was my thought too and honestly still is. I'm just tossing out ideas that are plausible due to the info we have. If I remember correctly though didn't pattern say he was the only cryptic to come across? Also I am now kind of a fan of this voidspren following around galivar and gaz. As always if this post doesn't make sense I apologize, maybe I should wait till I'm fully awake to start posting lol
  18. Personally I just think the shadows for gaz are just in his mind. Now IF they are something more and tied into the ones that galivar was seeing, is it possible that these "shadows" are voidspren? Also I could be wrong but I thought somewhere in WoK galivar says something about the shadows that makes them sound like the geometric headed spren that Shallan sees in WoK.
  19. Cool. Thanks for the info maxal. Although in my mind I was going with Tien being the illegitimate son
  20. But on Roshar Alethi hair breeds true, where the more pure your blood is the more black your hair is
  21. So as I'm rereading WoK I noticed that in a description of Tien it mentions his hair is black and brown( hardcover chapter 37: sides. Page 539 in the second paragraph). Now I may be wrong but in all descriptions of kaladin I believe they say his hair is black. If I'm wrong please let me know. Now of this is true it would mean that kaladin and Tien have at least one different parent. What are your thoughts?
  22. Rust and ruin! I was to tired this morning when I posted this that I totally forgot that those are the skybreakers surges. I totally feel like a chullhead now. Thanks for pointing that out Rasarr
  23. If division does in fact work the way we all belive it to then mat I present to you the skyfallers: division and gravitation. Send an object loaded to blow with division flying into the air with gravity to have it drop into enemy lines and boom. Basically the carpet bombers of the KR

    RACE!

That would be a good question for brandon. That being said nothing my post deals with direction change, it was about changing the friction on opposing feet. Sorry If this comes across as rude or doesn't make sense I'm still trying to wake up

    RACE!

What makes you belive that edge dancers can't "skate". We've seen with Lift that she can change her friction to different parts of her body as needed. With practise an edge dancer would be able to switch the points of friction on there feet alternatively to create a "skating motion" as it were
