  1. How about "Protect those who cannot protect themselves"? Results could be interesting but it also opens a field of experiments where we take it to Roshar...
  2. Actually they are. Secret History proves it without doubt but there's also this WoB: www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1158#27 Anyway, it's very simple how they started figuring out Awakening: See, for Returned to heal somebody with their Breath they need to give away their Breath using Command: Then normal humans tried this Command and eventually figured out they can also pass their Breaths to other people. (at least I think that's reasonable thing to assume)
  3. But... Seekers are commonly becoming savants without even realizing it. Kelsier was a steel & iron savant (developed savantism really quick). No way Coinshots are not becoming savants - I mean, you can use steel all the time without problems and that's a straight way to savantism. (Not to mention TLR being a full savant or almost full savant) I always thought that savantism doesn't have drawbacks (like in "you get a boost but also this flaw") but only consequences - tin savantism doesn't really have a drawback, it's just a consequence of having heightened senses, period. So some savantisms would be more dangerous and some wouldn't be at all (Copperclouds or Seekers). I just don't really like the idea of going back on something after seven installments in the series. We're nearing halfway in Mistborn (Era Two almost finished which leaves us with two Eras to go).
  4. I need some tips on writing a news report. Like you I did in my sig. Obviously I don't intend to spend hours watching news on TV, no time for that kind of thing. Basically I want to know specific phrases reporters use or how would they structure their sentences, how would the whole thing be structured, that kind of thing. I plan to intertwine it with proper story.
  5. It's Brandon who gave us the "robot spren" term, so... And Nightblood has been usually refered to as he, where did you see "she"?
  6. I dropped the Ookla build and I'm back to my previous self... sort of.
  7. My family usually brews Black Tea and Earl Grey together, 1:1. I don't know how it fits into tea culture, but we just prepare some really strong brew in a teapot. Later we pour some into a cup and fill with hot water. Not sure where is this coming from - it may be a Russian or Turkish custom.
  8. We have confirmation it's not Reckoners main universe: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stormlight_Archive/comments/5j8bkb/no_spoilersstate_of_the_sanderson_2016/dbef9pz/ It's one of the alternate ones. (IDK about Reckoners, I haven't read Calamity and Firefight I'm trying to forget due to the horrible translation into my language)
  9. Here (in Poland) temperature is oscillating around 0°C (32°F). A little on the plus, a little on the minus. Still no snow (there was once or twice but that's it). No snow for Christmass, I'm afraid. Mists are showing up again, this morning (like 45 minutes before sunrise) there was a fog and all... On another note: my dad watched an episode of Young Pope while I was near last Thursday. I can't get that music out of my head ever since:
  10. Reckoners is cosmere Not cosmere is Snapshot Snapshot is Reckoners. Huh. I did not expect that (source: State '16)
  11. http://brandonsanderson.com/state-of-the-sanderson-2016/ It's already here! (I swear it wasn't half an hour ago)
  12. They never tap, only store alternately.
  13. Just looking for a way to read it and not go bankrupt. Are there ebooks maybe?
  14. Actually gravity does not provide energy. First energy has to put in to increase the distance between the object and Scadrial. Then gravity makes its thing. But in my scenario you're not putting in any energy to elevate the paired Skimmer - you're actually gaining energy from that.
  15. The most physics breaking thing about Feruchemical iron is that you can construct a perpetuum mobile generating both kinetic energy and Investiture with two Skimmers and a ledger. It's no longer even this "creating energy from Investiture". It generates both out of nothing.
  16. You were loaning it from a library or buying volumes or...? I want to read that but buying the omnibus on amazon ain't happening till I find gold in my garden. I wasn't saying anything. I blame Ruin, admins or Sazed. Anyway, gotta go, I found something in my garden...
  17. there is this one building on the campus which has rooms like you know, amfitheatre, for lectures, lots of people. Like more than a hundred. We have it on good authority that CO2 levels there are way past the norm. No wonder I keep falling asleep there... ... Okay, I fall asleep pretty much anywhere... but that building is the worst.
  18. Feruchemy got split because of mixing with Allomantic blood. Anyway, I have written a timetable tracking down important events on Allomantic and Feruchemical bloodlines, there are also three pages worth of discussion:
  19. what do you mean? Allomancers did exist pre-lerasium (and I'm not talking about mistfallen). They were very rare, but it was not impossible for an Allomancer to be born. SImilarly, Southeners have seeds of the Metallic Arts and it's theoretically possible for an Allomancer to be born among them.
  20. Infinite upvotes for referencing that What If. BTW, Iron Feruchemy breaks laws of physics by itself... (perpetuum mobile generating both energy and Investiture)
  21. We actually know that both Feruchemy and Allomancy is genetic. Though, it's Spiritual DNA, not the normal one.
  22. almost two weeks without normal access to internet (I hope it will change soon) and I'm already feeling behind on all the things. Like the recent reveal about the metals.
  23. First season of Korra was really good and I wouldn't hesitate to place it above some of the ATLA episodes or even seasons. then... Season two has highlight of Wan's story and that's about it. Season three is good, Season four not so much.
  24. I had a dream that i was in some kind of arcade game like Pacman. Then the perspective shifted to first person and I was running with someone from xenomorphs (Alien) and each time I tried to kill one with coins it turned out I threw them a little offside and my Steelpushing made the coins miss. Each time. Then I broke out through the border (like border of the screen) and I have gotten out to the street near my old school and then I was woken up. First thought: "Man, that was weird". I blame playing too much Bastion.
