  1. ??? This doesn't make much sense. They're not indestructible so you need something "strong enough to hurt them". They regenerate which is a different thing. It doesn't matter what the damage is done with. If his brain is blown out, what does it matter whether it was done by a nuke or a wooden spike? Normal bullet or adamantium bullet? What matters is stoping or overwhelming regeneration. So either you block mutant powers and then shoot them or deal constant damage faster than they can regenerate (for example dropping them in a lake of acid or in volcano. Or poisoning. Like from adamantium-coated bones. A lot of radiation, probably. Or all of them combined).
  2. It's worth pointing out that Lifeless (Awakened corpses) have brains and thus can take in new Commands. This implies the object is animated by Breaths and that animated object is Commanded and not Breaths themselves.
  3. Mhm. Could I have your full name so I could add you to the list of people that shouldn't be given superpowers?
  4. That's worldbuilding at its finest.
  5. It could also be some godmetal alloy. Atium-bendalloy, perhaps?
  6. The movie was very good. Dafne Keen's performance was truly exceptional. Especially when you realize she's 11 and it's her first big role. I was angry that in the end Logan died. He went through so much and couldn't he at least have some more time with Laura? Then after some time, thinking clearly, I realized he was pretty much dying from adamantium poisoning (The Cough of Doom) the entire movie. This made his death more reasonable but still they had too little daughter-father moments for this kind of plot. This makes me sad. Also, I am completely confused as to why adamantium bullets can kill Logan and Laura.
  7. Spoilers for finale
  8. While it's true Returned can worldhop it doesn't mean that's easy. On cosmere scale of hardness it's probably not very difficult but there are some obstacles.
  9. Recently I asked about aluminum/nicrosil Twinborn who would tap so much nicrosil to attain Mistpoint and then burn aluminum. I asked whether he would destroy his own Investiture and Brandon said no. So it's probably the same with duraluminum.
  10. That's the fundamentall flaw in your train of thought. There is no such thing as conversion or translation of magic between the worlds. If you're an Allomancer, you burn metal wherever you are. If you have Breath and worldhop to Roshar, Breaths do not change into Stormlight.
  11. Those are not as bad as for example "this character could make things go bad" (but not really and we don't really know whether this character is even planned to be incorporated) or "new titles for april revealed and fans are not pleased" (some small subset of fans is mildly displeased because one title got pushed back a month) or "[publisher] shares bad news about [title]" (there will be one-issue break in publishing) or "this crazy theory you wouldn't believe has fans losing their minds" (theory: Superman is Clark Kent). My pet peeve: we have a recorder with our TV. The thing is, it's clogging up (right now it's at 95% capacity). But my parents won't watch the films they alone want to watch. Nope. They will be watching shows everyone wants to watch so it won't get deleted anyway. Or they would just watch TV. My sister also does it to a lesser degree.
  12. Lumping this question together with the previous one suggests that Silverlight has a Shard. We do not know that. I'd keep them separate or else Brandon will say something like "you're making assumpitons!"
  13. Thanks, it does sound like that, I'll update. Video isn't mine, though ;P
  14. Two things: First :ScadriAl. Second: I feel the same way but with cyborgs and harmonium technology instead of mechs.
  15. So I and @Kanrei did the transcript (don't forget to upvote him too!). Up there ^ is an audio file and here's a film: And here's transcript: Tons of dead dogs all over. Link to TVTtopes, beware.
  16. This post of @Pagerunner gave me an idea: magic users whose magic is long gone and they try to figure out how to use the new magic. Like... imagine immortal priest of Poseidon. As long as Poseidon was a Greek god, it was fine. Then the Romans came and he figured out how to use his water magic by drawing on Neptun. But then Roman Empire collapsed. With more hacking he could use some local water god but then politeistic religions started to disappear. Etc etc. Ok, not really what I have in mind but I think it sort of conveys the idea. Or maybe something like Windows 95 program trying to survive through every system update. Perhaps drawing comparisions with Perfect State is better.
  17. Coppermind and theoryland's interview database?
  18. ...wait... *counts* Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen... that's three... There's two more?
  19. Okay. What really makes me angry is not your points, @Rockobar. I actually agree with some of them. No, the thing that makes me twitch is the way you're conveying those points. Especially how you dive into Brandon's personal history or how you dismiss the themes a lot of people, including Brandon, consider interesting. Or how you go and, how @CaptainRyan put it: This is not "people are offended by everything now" thing. This is actively being rude by belittling beliefs of many people. Anyway, I'd prefer the whole thing to calm down, so I'll be doing some summoning. Summon: @Chaos, @WeiryWriter, @Rubix... um, @Kaymyth? This is similar to the "drop everything but Stormlight" thing and this time I'd rather it not to end with somebody banned.
  20. Nah. They don't count. They made this forum into existence while I'm thinking more like "people from the forum getting together". By definition, they can't be from the forum as they created it. Does that make sense?
  21. Okay, I know you just got here but I'll be following you cause those drawings are like superstormingawesome. I will even pass up on offering you cookies which I usually do to newcomers which leaves them with a bleeding hole in their bodies and me with a fresh Hemalurgic spike.
  22. Is that the first 17thShard couple? Nice. Also, I'm somehow not surprised by @Mestiv's fiancee. I'm pretty sure he mentioned her before.
  23. tl;dr: Now that I saved everyone's time on reading that wall of text you can decide whether you want to downvote him or let it be.
  24. I think it has already happened. Listeners spoke of how they got free of their gods at great expense and sacrifice. The lost the forms they knew and only somewhat rrecently started rediscovering them.
  25. No. Actually, given the diminishing returns when overtapping (tapping so much that some of the power is lost), Steelrunners would have prolonged lifespans. Why? Well, when they're storing they slow themsleves down and when tapping the speed themselves up. It should balance out but given the overtapping you'd be fast for a shorter time than the time you was slow. Does that make sense?
