  1. Spensa - Cailee Spaeny Cobb - Demian Bichir M-Bot - Michael Emerson Ivans - Lena Headey
  2. That's funny, because I didn't realize until now that Tom Hiddleston was my pick for both Ruin and adult Kvothe back when I read each series the first time.
  3. For some reason I thought that Dalinar, Sadeas, and Gavilar were all brothers until my recent first re-read. Never mind that Sadeas has a different last name than the other two, I guess.
  4. Community characters (I'm only halfway through Oathbringer, so some of my knowledge of the orders might already be obsolete) Jeff - Bondsmiths Britta - Windrunners Pierce - Dustbringers Abed - Truthwatchers Troy - Stonewards Chang - Edgedancers Annie - Elsecallers Shirley - Skybreakers
  5. Of course, he's been tinkering with the concept for years, so it may not be anymore.
  6. I made this months ago, but it's only 720p:
  7. Me trying to convert my friends and family to the Cosmere:
  8. Wayne: Piece of Work - Jimmy Buffett "Wicked, holy, full on fake Best known for my big mistake I'm a zen-wise peaceful gone beserk Good God Almighty, I'm a piece of work"
  9. When, at a random point in the day, completely unprompted you think to yourself, "When are we going to learn more about Vax?"
  10. Okay, at around 1:23:00 in this video, he says it's based on an idea he came up with in his first round of Youtube lectures, around 6 years ago.
  11. Once you go Maka, there's no going baki.
  12. I think that their strategy shouldn't be to sell it as a Cinematic Universe, but to follow Brandon's example and severely downplay the connections and sell each series based on its own story. They shouldn't be trying to ape the Marvel formula, for the simple reason that there isn't an Avengers-style team up movie five movies down the line. Maybe not even 20 movies down the line. I think dropping subtle hints (like Hoid's presence) will be enough to clue people in to the overall story.
  13. I'm also avoiding spoilers (well, all news, really) for The Last Jedi, Infinity War, and Game of Thrones, so a couple months of not reading Oathbringer is a walk in the park.
  14. Of course, I've also thought this about "Until the End of the World" by U2, for Mistborn Era 1, so maybe I like the trend more than I thought.
  15. The Mars soundtrack by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.
  16. You know, as much as the "slowed-down pop song cover" trend in trailers is getting old, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" would really work well for The Way of Kings, particularly for Kaladin's storyline.
  17. Man, reading that list makes you realize how bad it would be if the Elantrians turned into evil dictators. Advanced weapons, the ability to quell dissent instantly, the ability to determine a person's guilt without a trial. Good thing there isn't a sketchy group of Elantrians out there.
  18. So, with a Threnody novel on the way, does anyone else think William Ann might be a main character? Silence seems like she has her roots in pretty deep at the inn, but William Ann could potentially be the adventurous type.
  19. My favorite out-of-context 17th Shard quote:
  20. Wouldn't it be cool for him to lend out an unpublished idea of his (a la White Sand) so a game dev could build something from the ground up and we wouldn't be comparing it to the source material that much? Obviously they would have to involve Brandon to make sure it doesn't contradict existing Cosmere canon, but that wouldn't be too difficult with a new series on a new Shardworld. Maybe The Silence Divine or Dark One could work.
  21. I do feel slightly guilty for mainly being excited that we're one step closer to more Mistborn. I mean, I know he does non-Cosmere, YA stuff to recharge his batteries, but I'm naturally going to be more interested in the Cosmere books (or Rithmatist 2, since that's my favorite series of his for younger readers).
  22. Wasing the talking when you of in High Imperial, and wasing the understanding High Imperial people the don'ting.
  23. I think they'll be fine, as long as they're willing to show restraint and give Brandon more time when he needs it. Luckily, the Cosmere will be way easier to handle than Game of Thrones. Here they have the option of saying, "Ok, we're adapting Stormlight pretty fast; let's take a few years off between 5 and 6, since there's a time jump there anyway," or "Okay, we've reached the end of Mistborn era two. We don't need to use most of these actors again, so let's pick up with era 3 in 5 years. We can do some of the smaller stories in the meantime." Or, in the most extreme case, if they manage to adapt every Cosmere story Brandon has out and he still isn't finished, they can do original movies under his guidance (a la the Star Wars Story movies). Remember, Martin only had a back catalog of 5 GoT books when that series started; Brandon has 12 books and novellas (and he releases at least a book per year). I think they'll be okay.
