I think rich people would all end up with medallions, and some would leak through to other parts of the Cosmere. Scadrial wouldn't be the only planet with medallions, even though it'll have the most. Medallions can be sold, stolen, gifted away, etc and metal powers can be taken through a little thing called hemalurgy... I wonder what happens if a Windrunner gets their hands on iron/steel medallions...

You're welcome to stay longer. It'll be fun having you around! Anelin read the letter one more time and breathed a sigh of relief. She had a place to stay, and a welcoming relative who didn't mind having houseguests (unlike some brothers who treated her like slime). Anelin looked at her ledgers and did a few mental calculations. With housing taken care of, she had enough money to last the month, if she dipped into her emergency savings. But if Naara provided both food and housing, Anelin didn't have to use her emergency funds. Anelin's stomach growled. She stood up and walked to the door of her room. "Naara," she called, "do you have any food?"

Anelin checked the numbers one more time, dotting each line of work as she checked it. Four other columns of dots ran down the paper, each representing a round of inspection. She was right, as she always was. Anelin frowned and dropped her quill. She didn't have enough money to rent a room at an inn for a month. Her greedy pig of a brother had confiscated most of her travel funds to finance his own drinking. While she impressed Iadon, he would entertain himself back in their Deo estates. Anelin's eyes darkened. I'll pay him back one day, she thought. Meanwhile, she had a lack of money to deal with. She grabbed a piece of paper and listed out necessities for this trip, things that she couldn't cut funding to. Food Water Appearance Anelin paused at "appearance". She needed to look every part the strong representative of the wealthy family that she was, and she already was at a disadvanatge -- rumor held that Iadon disapproved of females. The least Anelin could do was look clean. Housing Anelin paused again. She couldn't rent a room for a month, but her cousin, Naara, had graciously offered to let her stay in the outskirts of Kae as a stop on her journey to the new capitol. Maybe she'll let me stay a few days more, Anelin thought. That would solve my housing problem neatly.

You call it off-topic. I call it team bonding. Maybe LG15b's eliminator doc? That was an interesting one.

@Alvron, how active has @Conquestor been lately? I'd edit this in, but the forum is spitting the dummy at me.

The problem with releasing faction lists is this: how do they help us find the Spiked? I know faction lists are information that the Spiked have that we don't. That still does not mean the information is automatically helpful. I suppose we could use faction lists to see voting irregularities among players, but there's little way to distinguish between a player voting weirdly for their faction, a player voting weirdly to mess up people's notes, and a player voting weirdly because they are Spiked. Besides, I don't like the idea of giving out faction lists when there are coinshots running rampant. At this point of infiltration, it's unlikely that a coinshot will hit a Spiked, because either they are Spiked or their teammates are. The Spiked can always present a jucier, non-Spiked target if a coinshot decides to kill someone who is Spiked. Having a faction list will widen the number of juicy non-Spiked targets. Why hit Player A, who has been acting a bit weirdly, when you could hit Player B, who is a brilliant player and in the faction you've decided to focus down into oblivion? Or why not hit Player C, who you're sure isn't Spiked but is part of a faction calling for your death? Or Player D? Or E? It's easier to catch the Spiked by seeing shifts in behavior and a feeling of held-back knowledge. We can't get that from a faction list. The only information we'd get from a faction list is who we can slaughter so the Spiked don't have to.

The girl sighed. “So. Tell me the name of the man who died, and then maybe we can do business.” “His name was Edgar Duran. A smoker, or a family member of one,” Ri said. She watched the girl's face and tried not to play with her dress or do anything else to betray her anxiety. Hopefully she hadn't messed up irreparably. Everything she did here would reflect on House Tellé's reputation, good or bad. She didn't want to be the one to stain her House's reliability. What sort of an informant was she, if she couldn't distinguish between a lovesick fool and a woman in mourning?
-
Maybe he wanted to get the information out, but in a way that made sure the lynch couldn't swing onto that person. I'm not particularily suspicious of anybody in my faction. That has more to do with the fact that I'm communicating in a doc than the actual substance of what my factionmates are saying, though. I'm quite sure someone in my faction is Spiked, but the only suspicion I have is based off of who I would convert if I was an Inquisitor. Since I am a different person than the Inquisitor and probably would want a different team than who they have, those suspicions aren't very strong. On another note, I'm disappointed with everybody here. After so much death, we still have not killed a Spiked. This is due to either the inguenity of the Spiked, or a lack of inguenity of the village. Judging from the pervious cycles, it's the latter option.
-
No. You can punish the people who killed you by depriving them of helpful quicklinks.
-
Burnt. I know that previously, she was finally reading some books that many people have encourged her to read, but she still feels like a lurker. The quicklinks and playerlist are nice, but she gives off the same feeling of hiding that she did in LG15b. The only difference, of course, is that she's not speaking honeyed words to me in a PM that make me unable to acknowledge her potential eliminatorness.
-
Very well. Nyali, I'm tempted to lynch you for being a good player and who isn't in my faction, but I don't want to continue that precedent anymore. I want to play against people who are better than me and learn, rather than be in an artificially levelled playing field. Vengeance is not worth keeping this precedent. Nyali.
-
Hmm. @Nyali, now I'm wondering whether what Alv says is actually true. Are you a Penrod, or aren't you? Are you and Alv lying, or are you two actually telling the truth? Is Alv a Spiked trying to save you, or isn't he? I suppose we shall have our answers at the end of the Day, unless you soothe a vote away from you. @Alvron, Nyali has lost all her use as a meat-shield now. Why don't you vote on her? Deprive a non-Penrod faction of another member. And, Kelsier willing, deprive the Spiked of a star player and soother. It's a win for you no matter what happens.
-
Alright. You a Lekal or a Cett, then? If you're a Cett, that's yet another reason to lynch you, for those playing the faction game.
-
Fixed now. Thank you for pointing that out.
-
A while back, Amanuensis expressed suspicion that Nyali was Spiked. Lopen agreed with him. Both are very strong analysts, so strong that people lynched Amanuensis in part because he was a good player not in their faction. Mailliw, who has played the most games of Sanderson Elimination, wanted Amanuensis dead so much that he wrote several posts of war propaganda in order to lynch Aman. Here, he explains why he did so: As Nyali said herself, Although nobody has tried to lynch Lopen for his faction, he is still a very good player. Last month, he caught three out of four eliminators the first Night of LG21. They were suspicious of Nyali because she helped lynch Orlok, her own teammate, over Amanuensis. Here is her explanation: It is possible that Nyali truly believed Orlok was Spiked. I call that crem. She’s a better player than that. Lopen and Amanuensis thought so too. When Bard asked how Aman had managed to make Nyali vote for Orlok, Lopen said Nyali was probably Spiked and knew she could take out two innocents that way. Aman agreed. Upon later reflection, Aman said that he got the evil vibe from Nyali and could see her doing what Lopen said. And after Joe revealed himself as a smoker, Aman said that unless Joe was a Penrod, he suspected Nyali heavily. He also said that he would bring it up, if he hadn't already made his last post inthread. All of these things were said in the Venture doc, so you know that these are honest readings. There is no reason for them to have tricked their factionmates with these readings, since they were not Spiked. After Orlok’s death, Nyali did exactly what Aman and Lopen had predicted: she called for Aman’s death. Of course, now we know that Amanuensis was no Inquisitor. Interesting that Nyali would jump to that conclusion, instead of thinking that he was a villager who lied to save his life. You know Amanuensis is a good player. In fact, he is such a good player that some of you lynched Amanuensis -- partially because he was a good player not in your faction, and partially to punish him for having the audacity to save himself from being lynched, because he was a good player not in your faction. You cannot say that Amanuensis is a good enough player to lynch, but not a good enough player to listen to. If you kill someone because of the high pedestal you put him on, you cannot ignore that his high pedestal comes in part from his uncannily accurate analysis. I trust Lopen’s and Amanuensis’s readings. I believe that Nyali is Spiked. It is time for us to cut out the cancer now.
-
Well, well, well. You wanted to lynch Amanuensis for his reputation. Now you have another unspiked, dead body, and the Cetts still have a near-complete team with a battalion of koloss. Of course, if we attacked Cett to even out their numbers... But who am I kidding? We'd never be able to coordinate that, and you're certainly not going to do something that a Venture suggests. I suppose this is the point where we place bets on whether the Spiked or House Cett will win. And now for the RP I've been neglecting. The girl stormed outside in a huff. Ri stared at the retreating figure, frozen with shock. She'd been so sure... What had she done wrong? Was the price too high? Was the information Ri had offered not what the girl wanted? The girl had mentioned something about a grave. Ri still might be able to get a few boxings if she played this right. She went outside, after the girl. "Sorry for what happened earlier," Ri said. "I can make it up to you. Five boxings, and I'll tell you everything you want to know about him."
