I'd like to GM either a QF or a MR, whichever needs more GMs. Game is The Aftermath of Elantris, which I put in the Game Creation thread. EDIT: actually, put me on the QF list. -
Nila woke up surrounded by a soft something. Where was she? The last thing she remembered was being in the Cognitive Realm as Cognitive Ideals disappeared around her. She'd had to spike herself with pewter to stay alive. The spike! Nila's eyes flew open and she tried to reach for the spike embedded in her heart. Her arms refused to move. They felt leaden and encased with some sort of wrapping. Bandages? She raised her head and looked down at herself. She was covered with a blanket that obscured her view of herself, in an airy room she didn't recognize. "Why?" a voice asked. Nila turned and saw Party sitting beside her. "Why would you lie to me and everybody else? The only reason I saved you is to find out why you danced with me that night." Nila opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. She tried again. "W--what lie? I don't...remember..."

The Aftermath of Elantris: A rethinking of the eliminators, villagers, and ghosts game Factions Derethi Sleepers: Hrathen might have failed, but you have not. You’ve spent years infiltrating Arelish society, and you’ll do whatever it takes to destroy this heathen nation. You have a doc to conspire with your fellow sleeper agents, and have one group kill a cycle. You win when the number of sleepers is greater than or equal to the number of villagers. Jeskeri Cultist: The moon demands sacrifice, and you shall provide it, one kill every cycle. You win when you kill everybody. Lovers: You are deeply in love with another player and love them (romantically/platonically) more than life. You win if you and your partner survive until the end of the game. If your partner dies, you are consumed with grief and have one kill a cycle. Your new win condition is to kill the person who killed your Lover. If they were lynched, you need to kill everybody who voted for them. Afterwards, you die and meet your Lover in the dead doc. Elantrians: While the villagers have been fussing about Derethi sleepers in the population, King Raoden has sent his own sleepers to infiltrate and protect the population -- Elantrian sleepers like you. You can protect one person from being killed every cycle (but not the lynch), and win if a certain number of players survive until the end of the game. Villagers: After King Raoden took the throne, you thought your troubles were over. But people on the streets whisper of more trouble to come. Derethi sleepers and Jeskeri cultists threaten the peace, and your fellow citizens die around you. You win when the sleepers and cultists are dead. Rules PMs are allowed in this game. One-on-one PMs, group PMs, mass PMs, whatever. Just include the GM in them. When a player dies, their alignment is revealed and they are sent to the dead doc. Every cycle, they may send a message of 150 characters (a little longer than a Twitter message) to be posted with the next cycle’s writeup. However, if this game is run as a MR, messages sent by victims of sleepers can be intercepted and edited by sleepers. Dead players have a doc to discuss in, but no information will be revealed in it. Issues and Other Things I'm not sure how many people the Elantrian should keep alive in order to win. I think something slightly bigger than the size of the eliminator team should work, but I'm not sure if that would be balanced. This game probably should be a QF or MR. I'm leaning towards QF right now. Thoughts?

I just come online , vote on someone, and get ninjad by a post demanding me to go into a doc when I'm on a mobile device that takes ten minutes to load a doc. So I have to get to my laptop, turn it on, wait for google chrome to open, go to the 17th Shard forum, wait for PMs to load, go to my GM PM, go to the doc, wait for it to load, read the doc, and then do a last minute vote change. So yes. It's a hefty demand. Alvron. Bard.

The lifeless hamster holding the Shard of Honor squeaked in terror. Then it ran past Nila and jumped into the Purelake, where it vanished. A barrage of Awakened objects followed it into the water, trailing a plume of nastiness into the water. Nila eyed the previously crystal clear waters of the Purelake, which was now a murky, vomit colored mess. “Honor, you are such a coward,” she muttered. She Awakened her clothes with the command “Keep me clean” and stepped into the Purelake. Nila sank into a world of glass beads, and flailed her arms in panic. Adonalsium, they were everywhere -- in her face, in her clothes, all around her -- No. She refused to drown in the Cognitive Realm that she’d traversed so many times. Nila relaxed, and the beads flattened out into a path for her to walk on. She looked around, but didn’t see Honor anywhere. Where could he have gone? Nila thought for a moment, and then burned bronze. Discordant drumbeats blared in her ears, each grappling with one another for dominance. And -- storms, were those screams? One set of pulses died down, replaced by deep laughter. Was that Odium? Was he shattering Honor? NeLaar stopped burning bronze and backed away. Whatever was happening here, she needed to get away. Harmony, she didn’t want to die here -- this was just a rusting job -- Nila blinked. If she could get back to the Physical Realm, she might be able to escape. She turned and ran for the Purelake’s perpendicularity. The path of beads shook under her, and she tripped. No! She was almost there, just a few meters away from the Shardpool. Beads flew into the air, melted together, and vanished. Nila tried to get up, but her path broke apart into an unsteady sea. She fell into the ocean of beads, away from the Shardpool, away from escape. Nila clawed at the beads for support, but they burned her fingers and then disappeared. She yelped in pain. What was happening? She burned bronze, and the same two sets of pulses sounded in her ears again. No, not the same ones. These beats harmonized in complimentary patterns. Odium and Ruin. Above her, the light of the Shardpool fragmented and disappeared. No! It couldn’t be gone! Nila blinked over and over to clear her eyes, but nothing changed. The Shardpool was gone. Nila stopped burning bronze. So this was to be her end. Burned to death by destroyed Cognitive Ideals while Ruin blew Roshar to bits. At least it was better than acid. She turned her nerves off and waited for the end. No, she couldn’t just die! She had a spike. Pewter. Nila fumbled with her satchel, and reached inside. “My breath to yours,” she gasped out. “Stab me.” A pewter spike flew out of the satchel and into Nila’s chest. She winced at the impact, and started burning it. The heat of the beads pressing against her skin dulled. Nila relaxed. She… she might actually be able to survive. If the 17th Shard found her before she burned up her Hemalurgic spike… Nila Awakened her shirt. “Get Demoux. Tell him to come here.” Open for RP interaction! Nila would definitely prefer a 17th Sharder to get to her first, but I'll be happy with anyone, Sharder, Shard, Shardic Coalition, etc...

Actually, if you think of allergies as unhealthy, they might be exaggerated when you store health. But at least tapping gold would reduce these allergies, if that was the case.

Wayne Disapproval Thread (Potential Wayne-related spoilers)

It's true that characters need flaws and limitations to be interesting, but authors have to be careful. If not blatantly obvious or pointed out by the story, people might see a "good" character espousing a "bad" belief, and think that it's perfectly alright because the "good" character is saying it. In fact, a "good" character with "bad" beliefs might be interpreted as the author themself promoting the "bad" belief. This is further compounded if the "bad" belief is still prevalent in many parts of the world. For example, readers might react poorly if a male protagonist says that a woman's boobs are more important than her abilities, especially if nothing happens in the story to suggest that attitude is wrong. Authors have to be careful with they beliefs the give their characters. In this case, Wayne was being insensitive to the struggles of the LGBTA+ community with his "it's just a phase" and threesome suggestions, and it might not have been the best decision to put that in there, especially since many LGBTA+ people face similar situations in real life. Wayne's comments were insensitive, vulgar, and homophopic. However, we can and should assume that Brandon intended to show Wayne's character, not preach opinions about LGBTA+ people. -

Sports games would definitely have divisions for thugs or non thugs. Non thug games probably would have leechers and seekers making sure no one burns anything. Of course, teams could cheat by having smokers...
