  1. Unfortunately, a lot of wonderful cities have horrible airports. But would going to Disneyland improve your opinion of LA? I've never had that experience, but that sounds awful.
  2. What rebellion are you leading? And against who? And why?
  3. Just finished reading this entire thread and...woah, there are a lot of different opinions here. Some I agree with, some I don't, but seeing as this is a thread about religion, I'd be weirded out if everybody had the same religious (or lack of one) outlook as I did. I think I've seen more religious discussion here than in an entire year of my life.
  4. Red is connected to Odium, so maybe it has something to do with that? I have no idea what blue or gold could be. It seems rather convoluted to have two opposing groups that share the color gold, especially if the colors are symbolic of something.
  5. I'm atheist, and I grew up in a (mostly) atheist family. My mom says she's Christian, but she doesn't go to church or talk about it much with the rest of my family. To be honest, I don't think I've ever really given religions much of a chance. I like my current mindset. Changing it would be scary. I've never really looked into religions, so most of my religious knowledge comes from brief, distorted mentions from the media. I've read a book advocating Christianity, and I agreed with the points made against atheism, but not with the points made for Christianity. I suppose I'm in the "disbelief until proven" camp, for now, at least.
  6. As far as upvotes/downvotes go, I'm far more likely to respond to a post than to upvote it. I've never downvoted anything yet.
  7. Why does this mean that it's the same Hoid? I'm sure that plenty of worldhoppers have the ability to conceal their face, not just Hoid.

    Harmony

Oooh, I like this! There's a nice symmetry that underscores the "Harmony" concept, but the change of colors in the background keeps it from being too static.
  9. It started, as always, with Renee launching herself off of a balcony, doing two front somersaults in the air, briefly touching the ground, doing a roundoff, then five back handsprings, and ending with a layout twist. Alright, that was an exaggeration. Sometimes her opening routine was even more impressive. But the mortals in this dirt-filled hovel didn't need to know that. Out here in Persepolis, this must be perfection unlike anything they'd ever seen before. "Well?" Renee demanded. "Clap!" The mortals glanced at each other with wide eyes. They whispered among themselves, obviously about how impressive that tumbling pass had been. Then one of them started clapping, followed by the rest. All except for one mortal, who sullenly stood with his arms glued to his sides. How dare that mortal refuse to knowledge the epicness that was Renee? She glared at him, and was surprised that the mortal had enough temerity to glare back. "Clap!" Renee ordered again. "No," the mortal said. "I am not a slave for you to order around, Epic." Well, enough was enough. The mortal refused to show an appropriate amount of respect, so Renee had every right to give an appropriate punishment. She rushed forwards and threw him into a wall. Then, she walked towards the mortal's whimpering form and kicked him in the ribs. The bone cracked with a satisfyingly loud crunch. "Fortunately for you, Lord Perseus frowns on killing," Renee said to the mortal. "However, he doesn't have anything against maiming." She turned and bowed towards the rest of the mortals, who were all clapping quite loudly. Some of the mortals' eyes had anger etched in them, no doubt because of the contemptuous way the mortal had treated Renee. Renee turned her back on the mortals and vaulted into the distance. This had just been warm-up. The real show was going be later, when she reached the group of mortals who called themselves "Reckoners". ------ In other words, sign me up! I'm quite excited to see what's going to happen this game. Phatt, what day does the game start and when is the rollover?
  10. The first Sanderson book I borrowed was Mistborn TFE, but I didn't actually read it (the cover and the summary seemed rather boring). Later, I borrowed The Rithmatist, read it, reread it, reread it again, and then reread it for the fourth time. After that, I started looking at other things that Brandon Sanderson had written. I'm not sure if I can pick a favorite book. It seems rather unfair to have to pick between Mistborn and Stormlight Archive...
  11. I might have a 17th shard addiction...

Oh, I've heard that there are a few insane people who don't check the 17th shard daily... :P

  12. What happens if Courage and Wisdom aren't forged back together?
  13. I think that without Wisdom, the more negative sides of the traits are accentuated. For example, the Sector(not sure if this is a good name, but I'll use it for now) of Hope might have a lot more gambling in it than before. The people there are excessively optimistic and always assume that things will go there way, which leads them to take a lot of risks, and hence the gambling. The people of Honor might be so code-bound that they will do anything as long as it is a tradition codified in their laws, no matter how outdated it is. They see the world as black and white -- either you are following the code, or you aren't. If the code demands that you never cheat at cards, then you never do it. If the code demands that ladies are always first, then females are always the first ones into the building (if part of a group). If the code demands that if you wrong somebody you must dance a jig in front of them, then you dance a jig in front of them. I'm not sure what the other virtues would be, though...
  14. Well, I never talked to you in PMs. Once I started talking to people in PMs that made me not want to kill them. Then Orlok suggested that I kill either Lopen, Burnt, or you... Well, you did give me a valuable lesson in PM safety, so I can't feel too unhappy about that. I had a few moments where I suspected that you and Adavantos were both traitors, but I always thought it was just paranoia. Now I know that friendliness and trustworthiness aren't the same thing. According to Wilson I'm first in line for that.
  15. When I read it, I interpreted it as people feeling remorse for the bad things they've done. If that was what it meant, it would be a wonderful way to keep people from repeating crimes, because they'd feel too much remorse for their previous crimes to want to do them again. Of course, if it's literal pain, it wouldn't work nearly as well. What if Arelish courthouses had Aon Kii inscribed everywhere and that was their method of determining whether people had committed a crime or not?
  16. I was the Mistborn that was contacting Adavantos, and by extension Burnt Spaghetti. Of course, I trusted her, and took a shardblade to the neck because of it. I... may have been unnecessarily trigger happy with my kills. They were: N1 nobody N2 polkinghornbd N3 originally Honey Badger, then nobody, then Kaid N4 Zed N5 STINK (ah, the joys of targeting a hemalurgist to test the loyalty of another hemalurgist...) N6 The Cow (the only day that I got a traitor!) N7 role blocked N8 originally Elby (sorry about that ) then Phatt, then Alvron N9 dead
  17. Alfa the SE player isn’t in this game, so this could be a possible reference to something that happened to him? It could also be a way to refer to another player. The Monster is a song by Rihanna http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/eminem/themonster.html if anybody thinks that this is useful. Ekko is a champion from the game League of Legends, and apparently he had a crush on Jinx, another League champion (you can find pictures of Jinx in Creccio’s profile and signature). Could this possibly mean that Creccio has uncovered an important role? Juliett comes from the play Romeo and Juliet, and is the girlfriend of Romeo. This might be tied to the “Ekko's greatest love was exposed as a beagle who is relatively important” part. If Creccio is telling the truth, Kyn said something that might be related to this code. Also, Creccio and at least one other person has “other knowledge” than what Kyn has, Xin as in League of Legends Xin Zhao? GGEZ could stand for either “Good Game Easy” or “Good Game Ezreal”. Is Creccio implying that he has knowledge/a role that could carry people? Conclusion #1 is that unless somebody has a key or claims to be the recipient of the message, there is no way to really tell what Creccio is saying. However, the fact that he is using such an obvious code is interesting. It’s useless without a key, which would have to be PMed privately so an aspiring codebreaker can’t figure out the meaning from information in-thread. However, if Creccio could send (or reply to) PMs, there wouldn’t be any point in creating such an obvious code. Creccio needs to have the key. If Creccio was a DIagrammist, he could just use a Doc to communicate with his fellow Diagrammists. Could the entire code be a fabrication meant to divert people from other types of discussion? I’m not sure. Conclusion # 2 is that this bit of analysis seems to have been a waste of effort. Kudos to Creccio for being cryptic and making me waste my time. I see no reason for him to have created his codes if not for the express purpose of confusing people. @Kyn, I think you're not suspicious, so I'm taking my vote off of you.
  18. It's always better to slap around a few votes to see what people say in defense than to not vote for anybody. If people say something to convince you, you can always retract your vote. Besides, people say interesting things when they have lynch pressure on them. Your post proves that you've looked over things and analyzed them, so I think it's suspicious that you haven't voted for anyone yet. You call out several people (including me) but you don't want to vote for any of them? I'm retracting my vote on Orlok and putting it on Kynedath.
  19. Orlok, you seem very eager to kill someone for giving new players advice about PM safety. Keep in mind that new players don't know who can be trusted, who can't, who they should reveal their role to (on the first day, absolutely no one). I'd also like an explanation from Hellscythe about his vote on STINK. Why do you think he might be a Diagrammist? EDIT: Do we really know if Mailliw's list is accurate? I know the faction than I'm supposedly in isn't the same as the one I'm actually in, and the other people I know are in my faction are also listed in the incorrect faction.
  20. Breaking news! A man smuggling weapons into Urithiru was killed by a Shardblade yesterday morning. Arina sat in her chair and studied the lead she'd just written, ignoring the silvery creationspren drifting around her. The lead wasn't quite what she wanted, but it would have to do for now. She could fix it later, after she had a decent first draft. She glanced back at the fact sheet one of the beat reporter's had collected. Man killed by Shardblade, had a wound in his back, strange diamond tattoo... Ah, here it was. His eyes had been cut out to hide the fact that he had been killed by a Shardblade. And what was this? Someone claiming that a Horneater champion had done it? And the beat reporter hadn't followed up? Arina needed to check this out. Clanky, I'd like an explanation for your vote on PK. I'm on mobile right now and can't do color, but count this as a vote-to-be. EDIT: I think I've figured out brackets now. I hate typing on mobile. EDIT# 2: Greened the vote.
  21. I think that the 7 statues represented virtues of the city, and reflect the state of the city, not the other way around.
