  7. Kaladin is very prejudiced. He's prejudiced against lighteyes, the ruling class. You could argue that his oath in WoR is about not letting his prejudices get in the way of his protection of others.
  8. I love your story @Erklitt, although I think someone, Shallan or Renarin, will tell Adolin that the Shardblades are dead spren. That will be the catalyst for him to say the first two oaths, promising the Blade that he will live as a Radiant would as long as they are bonded and that Adolin will not forget the spren. The transition from sword to spren will happen at a suitably spectacular and climatic moment, and all the Radiants will be amazed by him. …Not that I've thought of this extensively or anything.
  9. I think that Aesudan will show up more. She had such a small role in WoK and WoR that it wouldn't be hard. I think she and Kaladin will have some conflict when he comes to Kholinar.
  10. If a Mistborn swallowed a large piece of metal, say the size of a coin, and they began to choke on it, could the Mistborn burn it to get rid of it? Could they burn part of it to make it small enough to swallow? If yes, would they do this instinctively to stay alive, or would it require lots of concentration and practice?
  11. Aluminum gnat. I could heal from the withering affects of a Shade and use an Allomantic grenade thingy against Misting assassins. Plus I could eat people's hats! Would you rather have one Cosmere power naturally or gain all of them using Hemalurgy?
  12. The reason I chose Amaram is because Sadeas is so much more upfront about his actions. As @Erklitt said, Sadeas would have killed Kaladin without a second thought, but everyone in the army knows that about him. Amaram is worshipped by his men. Think about what it actually took for him to cover up how he got his Shards. Dalinar says there were witnesses who saw him kill the Shardbearer months after Kaladin was made a slave. That means he gave the Shards to someone else simply so he could kill them and look good. No one realizes this, even Kaladin and Dalinar who know the truth. Kaladin's men could not have been the only people he killed to cover it up. People talk about this one incident defining him, but there could be hundreds of other incidents like it, and he is so good at covering them up that no one knows.
  13. Perhaps the lighteyes want to keep the cost of Parshmen high to prevent them from being widely used by darkeyes. Where was it stated that Parshmen are more expensive than human slaves?
  14. Oops. I saw the image and got all excited that I could helpful without looking closely enough at it.
  15. It is the eye of the almighty. Here is a labeled version of it.
  16. Have we considered the possibility of the Diagramists getting involved? Mr. T wants countries in chaos, and they could use this incident to cause more chaos among the Highprinces. Graves left at the end of WoR, but did everyone? It would make Dalinar's job a lot more difficult if they were involved behind the scenes making the consequences worse.
  17. While I find your idea of his parents missing interesting, I hope it doesn't happen for different reasons than you said (I never got into WoT, so I don't know exactly what you are talking about). I think Kaladin needs to confront his father. He worships Lirin and calls him the most honorable man he knows, but Lirin has done things that go completely against what Kaladin believes as a Windrunner. His philosophy of people either protect or kill is the opposite of Windrunner ideals. I've always felt that Kaladin has a bit of a "Well Done, Son!" Guy thing, and I think his relationship with his father will be a major part of his next arc. I want the meeting to happen sooner rather than later. I really like this scene. I think getting his father's approval of the choices he's made will go a long way towards helping him heal his scars.
  18. If his parents are gone, I wonder if anyone will actually recognize him and believe his story. He left five years ago, and he changed a lot since then. What are the chances that they believe the surgeon's son got slave brands, a shardblade, and became captain of the king's guard?
  19. When you play Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and keep accidentally calling the Spiritual Sages Heralds and the Lens of Truth a Truthfinder's lens.
  20. The hint about the trauma is from when she kills the muggers.
  21. Thanks @Erklitt for clearing that up for me. Although now I wonder about the implications of Hoid being put on the same level as the Heralds.
  22. Looking at the chapter icons, I noticed three things almost every chapter has. 1. The Heralds. I have no theories about why each one was chosen for the chapter beyond what was already stated, but the fact that they are pictures of Heralds is what I find significant. 2. The eye under the Heralds. Iirc, there is an hourglass symbol based on the double eye and associated with the Heralds, and I believe this is it. 3. The chapter headings are symmetrical. This is especially noticeable with the eye symbol, where the two sides are clearly reflections of each other instead of just being the same image. These three facts lead me to believe that Vorinism may have a greater relevance to the chapter headings than we currently know, and that they may even be something in-world. I said that this applies to most chapter headings. After looking at a selection of headings from different characters in different places in the books, I saw only one exception. The man on the top in Hoid's epilogues is not a Herald. Compare his image to the Heralds. I have no idea who he is. Does anyone else know?
  23. I've seen a theory that Nahel is the name of Cultivation's shardholder. The idea was that because bond refers to Honor, Nahel should be connected to Cultivation in some way, since the magic system is a mix of the two. Even if Nahel isn't the shardholder, I think it is connected to Cultivation.
  24. I always thought that he was able to unbind the second shardblade so easily because he was a Radiant and it was connected to hearing the screams. We had just never seen a Radiant bonded to a dead shardblade before. I agree that it would be cool if it was connected to his Bondsmith abilities, though.
