Yes, it is quite fun. I was curious about one thing: the kandra specifically said that the person he had selected for the task had refused to do it. So who is this kandra? What is his mission?

It helped Shallan. Why it did that, I don't know, but it is at least somewhat sentient.

Maybe the battle for Yolen can only be fought in the Cosmere afterlife. The fight for the Tranquiline Halls is, after all, where all good Vorin soldiers go when they die.

I call those 'renewable' attributes (weight, speed, probably warmth, determination, etc.) I actually think that aluminum stores a depletable attribute (such as memories, investiture, etc.)

What exactly are you confused on?

My first thought is that Stone and Metal are two of the Ten Essences, and the different essences may react differently to different Investiture. Just a thought.

This may be a red herring, but what about the Splinter of Ruin hanging around? Wouldn't that be a shadow of self as well?

On the bright side, looks like he will finally come through on all those RAFOs about Identity. On the downside, he left us with a storming Voidbringer of a last line. I have mixed feelings about the last line.

From what I understand of Cosmere Thermodynamics, Investiture used that cannot be recovered (such as Aons, Stormlight, metal burning, Breaths, etc.) goes back to the Shard it originated from. What Nightblood basically does is remove that Investiture from the Cosmere entirely, making Nightblood more end-negative than anything else in the Cosmere.

That makes sense, since duralumin and presumably chromium basically overload you on metal, even specifically mentioning how it simply accelerates burn rate, burning all the metal at once. It's like the difference between letting a little gasoline into the engine, which propels the car, and lighting the gas tank on fire, blowing it up.

That's the one.

I realize that by naming this topic, I have attracted the attention of the entire Dark Alley. Hold your cookies, please. Anyway, on to the topic. In the Ars Arcenum of Shadows of Self, it says on the topic of Hemalurgy that (doesn't really spoil much, if anything, but whatever) Come to think of it, it might be a WoB, but anyway, yeah. Hemalurgy basically involves ripping a piece off of someone's Spiritweb and stapling it to yourself. This is actually fairly similar to Nalthis' magic system, where people give up their Breath-a piece of their soul-to someone else. These stolen Breaths were used to create Nightblood, a weapon that can override Realmatic Thermodynamics and actually destroy Investiture, albeit slowly. This is the danger of Hemalurgy. Using a similar magic system resulted in the most destructive weapon in the Cosmere, with the potential to make it grind to a halt. My imagination can't think of anything potentially worse than Nightblood, perhaps others can think of why Sanderson put this in.

Is there any way to destroy Nightblood? I don't know if it can be Soulcast, and anything else doesn't seem likely to work. Maybe stab it into aluminum? (I like aluminum) The reason I say this because unless Nightblood is destroyed, the Cosmere will eventually come to an end.

Vin invented and perfected her horseshoe method in a few minutes, she is unnaturally skilled with metals.

You can store multiple senses at once, why not tap multiple senses at once?

I read in a sample chapter that Kaladin's eyes turn light when he summons his Blade or when he holds Stormlight.
-
Maybe a spren could turn into a grappling hook, allowing the orders without the Surge of Gravitation some ability to feel what it's like to fly.
-
Or maybe it was a different Unmade. So far, we know of two: The one that brings the Thrill, sort of an atium-like fighting ability coupled with euphoria, and the one that uses the Investiture of the dying to see the future. Why not another that shows you what you have done, or some such?
-
I had lots of Stormlight until I read his posts. Aaaaaand it's gone. (Not in the mood to make a meme right now. Just imagine it.) For those who don't understand the reference, it's when Kaladin gets angry at Vasher in the swordfight, goes to beat him, and loses his Stormlight.

Agreed.

Why that Aon specifically? Is it because Ati is Ruin's name? Don't really think so, but...
-
Yes, especially at the end. Although, she wouldn't be able to destroy either of them due to Preservation's power, but as far as power goes, she went lightyears past Elend on duralumin.
