Zane's spike was for Allomantic steel, which gave him greater precision with his steelpushes. And technically piercing copperclouds is just a matter of strength, so Vin's spike didn't give her the ability to pierce them as a distinct ability, it just increased her strength with bronze to the point where she could do it.

Crafty Games (makers of the Mistborn Adventure Game) have just posted their plans for this year's GenCon (July 30 - August 2, only a little over a week away) which include several pieces of Mistborn-related news. Most notably they announced that they will be showing their prototype for a Mistborn board game. After announcing that it was in development back in March without much information, they have finally given us a title, "Final Empire: A Mistborn board game", as well as a brief teaser description. They've also announced a panel entitled "Mistborn: Scheming Across Scadrial", which they have not gone into much detail explaining, only that it is "a little more than it seems on the surface" and that "if you’re a player or reader of the Mistborn Adventure Game you’ll definitely want to sit in if you can." For fans of the Mistborn Allomancy Dice which were Kickstarted at the beginning of this year, Crafty Games will be giving out a free Aluminum dice (a design not included in the retail set or the exclusive Kickstarter set) as part of any purchases people make at the con. We also finally have a rough idea for when the release of the next MAG supplement, "Skaa: Tin & Ash", will be. It should be hitting stores some time this winter! So, is anyone planning on being at GenCon? Please tell us if you are, we'd love to get firsthand reports of the game and panel! Check out our forum topic here to discuss the game and other GenCon plans! Photo credits: Alex Flagg and the board game prototype from the Gamerati Facebook page. So Crafty Games just posted their plans for this year's GenCon and there are a few neat Mistborn related things. Some of you may remember that a while back I posted about how Crafty Games were making a Mistborn board game. Well they will be presenting a prototype of it at GenCon. Here's the blurb they have for it: Later they also mention that the next MAG supplement (Skaa: Tin & Ash) is in edits right now and they expect it to release this winter. They will also be giving away an Aluminum Mistborn die (which is a design not included in the retail set or the special Kickstarter set) with any purchase made at the convention. They also mention that they will be doing a panel called "Mistborn: Scheming Across Scadrial" that " players or readers of the Mistborn Adventure Game will definitely want to sit in if they can"

While Harmony sometimes /acts/ like a single Shard, it is still two Shards. Sazed has to deal with two Intents.

Chapter Summary Template and WoR Summary work
WeiryWriter replied to Dorassii's topic in The Coppermind Wiki
For now I would say hold off on doing a lot of work on the individual pages for now. At least until I can write up and nail down a lot of thoughts and plans for this project. This is a topic that has come up a couple times in the past week or so hopefully I can get to it soon. This is definitely a long-term, more back-burner project, completing the main summary pages (as well as improving the actual content articles) is more important. My preference would be that if people do decide to work on this that they finish a chapter to as near completion as possible before moving on to the next. My reasoning being that this makes it easier on me keeping track of things and so that sections (such as "Notable", which is arguably the most important section for this project in my opinion) do not fall through the cracks.- 4 replies

You can Push/Pull on Shardplate and blades, though it is incredibly difficult. (source) That said I would say that it would be possible to Soothe/Riot someone in Plate (or a "Shardcap") but that it would be much harder to do (kind of like piercing a Coppercloud).

Brandon has actually been asked about this: (source)

hehe... This reminds of one time where a member (sorry don't remember who) mentioned to me how they always dreaded seeing me respond to their theories shortly after they are posted because I was like the Angel of Death. Which, if I'm being quite honest, still pleases me to no end. The thing is that I read pretty much every thread in this section of the forums and I have a fairly good memory. Part of it is that in the past few years I've spent a not insignificant amount of time adding stuff to the database, as well as working on the Coppermind, not to mention I've transcribed a /lot/ of stuff. As such I'm very familiar with the WoBs. So when I read something, and I know Brandon has said something about it, I generally know what to search for or where to find it. For example with the Adolin/Renarin being legitimate thing I happened to know that it was cited on the Adolin article, so it was very easy to find. And of course I did recently get an upgrade to my spikes.

Only the children of the monarch get the Royal Locks, which is why Siri and Vivenna have them, their dad is king. However neither of them can pass it on to their children, only their brother, the heir can. As for a citation, the reason it isn't in Theoryland is because it's in the book:
-
First off: (source) Also Vivenna would not be able to pass on the Royal Locks to her children unless she were queen. @Paradoxspren: Rosharans definitely have innate investiture.

Yeah the 6 inch-ish edition is a mass-market paperback. The OP is talking about a trade paperback which is about the size of a hardcover.
-
I meant physical size, like is it like 6 inches tall or the size of a hardcover.
-
How big is the paperback?

So Stormlight as a whole is 10 books, but that will be broken across two five book arcs (generally referred to as the front/back five). There will be a time skip of about 15 years in-world between Stormlight 5 and Stormlight 6 (Brandon will also be taking a real-world break between those books where he plans on writing the Era 3 Mistborn trilogy, but it will NOT be 15 years real time). The back five will feature a slightly different cast, though the main figures from the front five will still be around (in roughly the same level involvement as the back five main characters will have in the front five). It's very hard to kill a Surgebinder if they have access to Stormlight. So while she did get stabbed through the heart she was able to heal from that. The Felt thing has been pointed out multiple times but there has been no confirmation from Brandon if there is actually a connection.

I'm not denying that Sazed must be doing something with that extra power, and that storing it in the form of atium would be a reasonable choice. I just do not believe that the Pits are necessary part of that. My point is that the Pits were a mechanism put in place by Preservation to siphon power away from Ruin who was not a willing donor. Sazed however is in direct control of that power, the Pits should not be necessary for him to create atium, he should just be able to manifest it spontaneously whenever and wherever he deems fit.
-
Trade paperbacks are part of the normal release schedule for most of Brandon's books. Elantris is finally getting one for its 10th Anniversary. WoK didn't get one until like 4 years after it's release. We might get one in a few years.
-
But thing is that Preservation was removing that power by force, IIRC Brandon has described it as being similar (but distinctly different from Splintering) though I'm not finding that WoB at the moment. Frankly I think it is illogical for Sazed to be essentially taking a knife to himself to carve out the extra Ruin. Now that isn't to say he isn't storing that extra power in atium form, I just do not believe that the Pits are a necessary part of that, he should just be able to spontaneously manifest it as needed.

On the topic of shipping please consider that personal interpretation has a lot to do with understanding characters. Just because you* feel that certain actions or relationships are "out of character" does not mean that everyone else agrees. There are quite a few people who ship Shasnah. Do I? No. However, that does not change the fact that the people who do ship it feel that it is justified. If you don't ship something that is fine, just don't disparage someone else for shipping it, leave them be. Also keep in mind that shipping is something that happens more over on the tumblr side of the fandom and there's a very different culture over there. Shipping just doesn't happen here very often, we tend to be more focused on the setting and are more scientifically minded. Whereas tumblr is focused more on character and are more artistically minded. *I'm using the generic "you" here I'm not trying to single anyone out. -
Yeah those are the UK covers, so there will be another in that style for that region. This is just the US cover.

Here is the WoB: (Which can be found on the Wiki page for Adolin's Shardblade, btw)
