Theory: How Gavilar got the Evil Sphere of Doom
WeiryWriter replied to Lightflame's topic in Stormlight Archive
Spoilers are spoilers though. I think we should respect the people who don't want to be spoiled, even accidentally. Currently WoR spoilers are supposed to be in spoiler tags in the main Stormlight forum. -
This is also from Jasnah's point-of-view and Jasnah knows Lyss' gender. I'm fairly confident Lyss is a woman. She wants to keep her gender secret, because she's a woman. I don't really see the Alethi viewing assassination as a "feminine" pursuit so if she wants contracts she has to give the impression she is a man.

Theory: How Gavilar got the Evil Sphere of Doom
WeiryWriter replied to Lightflame's topic in Stormlight Archive
@Argent You should probably use the spoiler tag for that... -
There are dragons in Dragonsteel, which takes place on Yolen. The recipient of the Letter is a dragon.

Something that could be different is whether the surge is named Pressure or Atmospheric Pressure, we usually refer to it as the former but the ars arcanum says the latter. -
The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon

Is the second Surge named "Pressure" or "Atmospheric Pressure"? -
SA Character Portraits by Exmakina!

Yah, that's one of the ones I like too. I also liked the ones she did of the Heralds. -
SA Character Portraits by Exmakina!
WeiryWriter replied to FeatherWriter's topic in The Coppermind Wiki
I'm scared now... FeatherWriter is reading my mind, where's my aluminum foil hat when I need it! I had spoken with Joe about messaging people on Tumblr about fanart just the other day... But this is fantastic, which other fanartists should be approached about this? I think we should be showing off the unbelievable talent of the artists in the fandom. -
A Stylistic Question: Present or Past tense?

I think Chaos' idea was Brandon's process of creating the character. -
A Stylistic Question: Present or Past tense?

Hmm... I guess Abilities could go before History, yah that does make sense. And yes the "Intro" was the pre-section stuff at the top of the page. -
A Stylistic Question: Present or Past tense?

Yah, Relationships is a very end-game kind of thing. I see it as in-depth discussions of the characters most important relationships and the effect they have on the character. -
A Stylistic Question: Present or Past tense?
WeiryWriter replied to FeatherWriter's topic in The Coppermind Wiki
@Argent Not every article requires every section. Abilities would be for those characters with magical, or unusual, abilities. I can't think of any other sections for Characters. Maybe a Relationships section? Question though, would Trivia before in-world or out-world information? Because if we have a "Development" Section that should be where the out-world stuff goes but we've been using Trivia for out-world information. (Wow... that does not make sense) Let's try this again, will both Trivia and Development be out of world? (I think so) Should we do a suggested order as well? I could see it as Intro Appearance/Personality History Abilities Relationships Development Trivia Quotes Edit: ALL THE NINJAS! -
A Stylistic Question: Present or Past tense?
WeiryWriter replied to FeatherWriter's topic in The Coppermind Wiki
I think I actually agree with Feather on this (Writers Unite!). We, and the Coppermind, are not "in-world." We exist outside of the novels' time-streams, as a result its entirety, past, present, and future, exists in our present so using the past tense to discuss things is inaccurate. As Feather states using the present tense to discuss characters and such is the "professional" convention. I had to use it in my English classes as well. Now I know we've had a similar discussion with the whole "His or her vs. their" thing a while ago but I do think we should try to be as professional as we can with the wiki. I want it to be a source of pride for our fandom, I want other fandoms looking at it and saying "Man I wish our wiki looked that good." Now there are instances where past tense could, and should, be used, namely History sections but most stuff should be in present tense. On a side-note, I'm thinking we should try and come up with some article formatting guidelines and such so similar articles are formatted in the same way/look the same, with same section headings and such. I.e. Character articles, we kind of have a hodge-podge of different formatting systems. -

I'm not sure. But I do think it would be worth a thread in the WoR spoiler forum. -
Wow. Ym might be my new favorite Interlude character... (Sorry Rysn)

He has said that he changed cause of the plains when he moved them.

I kind of hope it is a fabrial that she has on her person, otherwise she has a long walk home. It could be an Oathgate though, but I got the impression they weren't very mobile. Dalinar is certainly wrong about the "ancients don't have fabrials" thing. We see a Regrowth fabrial in the Starfalls vision. (We know it is a fabrial because Stonewards don't have the Growth Surge. -
Their presence in both is not canon. Brandon originally wrote them as being in Dragonsteel but when he wrote Way of Kings he lifted from the former and added it to the latter. When Brandon re-writes Dragonsteel for publication the Plains will no longer be present within it.

Wow, this is awesome. I admit defeat, Heat is not a Surge. I do wonder how the Stoneward appears out of nowhere in Starfalls since Stonewards don't have transportation, did she use a fabrial? Since Division is based off the strong/weak forces, I wonder what Transformation is based off? On the "Elscallers" vs. "Elsecallers" it is probably the latter, the other orders are both combinations of two words and "els" isn't a word. -
Excellent! I do hope he is able to do it.

A Stylistic Question: Present or Past tense?
WeiryWriter replied to FeatherWriter's topic in The Coppermind Wiki
Oops... I write most of my articles in present tense but none of the admins have ever complained. (Except history sections, those I do in past tense) -
Two main questions I want cleared up are: "What is the likelihood that we will see the shardworlds explored in Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell and Sixth of the Dusk beyond those two stories?" "What is up with Aon Ien meaning Wisdom but being used for Healing in AonDor?"
-
The last one has been answered, there isn't one. Also, Cultivation's shardholder is still alive and honorspren can be termed splinters.

This says there are 9 or 10 goodies and some of them will be "pieces of art." Maybe more Epic Files like in the Books-a-Million/Target editions? I also doubt there will be anything from Elantris 2. The impression I've gotten from recent readings is that he doesn't have plans to start it anytime soon (it will be an in-between book). I also don't think the plan is for it to come out during 2015 anymore. He has said he wants to keep to two books a year and Shadows of Self is under-contract for March 2015 and Stormlight 3 is supposed to be that fall/holiday season.
