  1. You haven't seen posts because the steelhunt spoiler sub-forum is not currently live. Until then steelhunt spoilers are not technically allowed. The special forum should be up in a few days, so you don't have to wait too much longer.
  2. I believe Shardlet is refering to the Selish region of the Cognitive Realm. It is dangerous to go there because of large amounts of uncontrolled shardic energy. Sel has this problem because while the Seons and Skaze act as release valves for this energy there are not enough of them to eliminate the problem.
  3. Yah, among the Alethi I'm sure assassination is a male-profession. If it was a female one, there would have been a furor when Szeth, a male assassin, killed Gavilar. @Blindillusions I don't think we should be looking for Liss on the Shattered Plains. She's a handmaiden to Elhokar's wife who is currently holding court in Kholinar.
  4. The recipient is referred to in the Letter as "you old reptile" which was the reason for the original theory that the recipient was a Dragon. Then someone asked Brandon about it and he confirmed the recipient was a dragon. I'm looking for the signing report right now. Edit: Here it is. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/3962-the-recipient-of-the-letter-is-a-dragon/
  5. Her armor glows amber, not red, just like the Stonewards in the Recreance vision.
  6. I wouldn't be so sure about that. The 17th Shard is currently doing a scavenger hunt for a Steelhunt code, anyone who completes it can access the Steelhunt goodies. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/4357-next-one/ http://www.17thshard.com/hunt/
  7. I do like Syladin/Kalphrena, I've kind of shipped it since I decided Shalladin wouldn't work as well as Shallarin. It definitely wouldn't be a sexual relationship, but there's more to love than that, see Sazed/Tindwyl.
  8. I believe we know it from the annotations on Brandon's site. Basically Ruin influenced Scadrian culture to promote metal piercings (and as a result Hemalurgy) so he could have some control over potential Heroes. We know Alendi, for example, had a spike for allomantic Bronze.
  9. I doubt it, in the Starfalls chapter of Way of Kings (one of Dalinar's visions) we see a female Stoneward, whose Herald, Taln, is male. Also Elhokar seems to see Cryptics which would indicate he is a potential Lightweaver, just like Shallan.
  10. BUY! IT MUST HAPPEN! Rysn will end up being an incredibly influential merchant, whose power rivals many nobles by end of the Stormlight Archive.
  11. Brandon correct Travel to Transportation. As for the Stoneward in the vision, we don't know. I think the most likely answer is a fabrial that replicates the Transportation Surge.
  12. Hmm... mist fabrials? I very much like this.
  13. On a side note, there is a youtube recording of the signing.
  14. It varies. Usually it starts between 8 and 9 Eastern time and runs into the wee hours of the morning.
  15. Most stuff can be found in the tags "cosmere," "brandon sanderson," and "cfsbf" (that last one stands for Cosmere Fandom is Still the Best Fandom). Series/Book names are used when applicable as well. The main "hub" tumblrblog is adonalsium.tumblr.com and is run by FeatherWriter. Some other members of the fandom are (and I know I'm missing a ton, Feather will be able to fill in the blanks better than me) thechronicferuchemist kogiopsis lunarubato tinandpewterstrength abalidoth A lot of the tumblr cosmere fandom is pictures and such, more than the 17th Shard at least but once you know what to look for you can find a lot of textual posts as well. I would say they focus more on the aesthetics of the cosmere, fanart and literary analysis of characters whereas the 17th Shard is focused more on the mechanics of the cosmere with realmatic theorycrafting. Another major part of the tumblr fandom is the Friday Night Cosmere Chats which are usually exciting though we don't always talk about cosmere stuff. By the way, Kogiopsis made another post addressing the lack of Kaladin analysis in some of her posts.
  16. Not a problem, it was an honest mistake. Any mention of Adonalsium is likely to throw the best of us into super-excited-mode.
  17. I just wanted to respond to this bit. Brandon did not say that the Adonalsium-invested spren were a result of the Shattering, just that there were splinters of Adonalsium invested in Roshar that developed sentience in the form of spren. It's possible that they were there as a result of the Shattering but we cannot definitively say they were created accidentally because we know nothing of the circumstances of their creation beyond that they were created. And you are correct, Seons date from after the splintering of Devotion/death of Aona.
  18. Yes, that is one of the instances where it acts as one shard. I've posted about this just about every time someone says Harmony is definitely one shard or definitely two shards. It's both. Take this quote for example, emphasis mine: (http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=642#10)
  19. I would be careful about saying "Harmony is one shard" because it is and it isn't. There are instances where it acts as one shard and instances where it acts as two shards. On the Adonlasium can't be reformed thing, I dig it. I have a theory about it in my sig. @Refero On the opposites thing, Brandon has said that not every shard has an opposite and that Ruin and Preservation are the only "perfect" opposites.
  20. I can't attest to what his reasoning but I think I can make a guess at it. The Essence for Order 10 is Sinew and has to do with flesh and such which mirrors nicely with Order 5 which has Pulp and plant-life. I'm not sure if I quite agree though since growth seems to cover both plant-life and animal-life.
  21. Buy, those things are cool. We will find out the real name of "luckspren" (the spren that hang around skyeels in flight) when we do. Edit: Ninja'd... I buy Will's too though...
  22. Unfortunately no. I think he only read the extended version once and no one (that we know of) was able to get a recording of it. Hopefully he'll do it again soon...
  23. Hmm... I'm glad he cleared up what book we should be looking in. I guess I should get around to re-reading Warbreaker, I've only read it once, and that was a couple years ago now...
  24. Yah I can see that how that could be perceived that way. It was not my intent however, I was being entirely earnest. (Believe me though, you'll know when I'm being sassy...)
  25. That was the point I was trying to get across. Fighting, and presumably assassination, is a masculine art so the Alethi wouldn't approve of a female assassin. Also, what "sarcasm" are you referring to? My last post was written seriously.
