This is kind of old news at this point. We've known there is a travel/transportation surge for well over a year (at least).
-
I highly doubt it, it is really hard to invest something that has already been invested.
-
Personally I don't think so. Fabrials don't use the spren as a "fuel source" exactly, they are powered by stormlight. The spren just define what kind of power the fabrial has. How that "power" manifests depends on the design of the machine. I would hazard to guess painrials and the Pain Knife both use gems with captured painspren but one is a diminishing fabrial while the other is an augmenting fabrial. Also, are you talking about Cucisesh? I don't really see how what you are saying explains his existence, he isn't part of a fabrial.

For now, I would have them be as long as you feel is necessary to concisely summarize the chapter. If they get too long we can always edit them down later but personally I feel it is better for them to be too long than too short (or non-existant).

It has been brought up/noticed before. I'm looking for the thread it was discussed in.

Hemalurgy in Brandon's reading of Shadows of Self
WeiryWriter replied to Chromium Compounder's topic in Cosmere Discussion
There's nothing keeping him from using it as both, hemalurgic spikes can be used as metalminds after all.- 19 replies

Parshendi voluntarily became Parshmen
WeiryWriter replied to The Count's topic in Stormlight Archive
Actually Parshendi do not call Parshmen "Dull Form." They call Parshmen "Slave form" (which they acknowledge as a misnomer since technically they have no form). Dull form is a Parshendi form that is not commonly used anymore, but is not used in reference to Parshmen. -
Hemalurgy in Brandon's reading of Shadows of Self
WeiryWriter replied to Chromium Compounder's topic in Cosmere Discussion
(Oops this kind of is a result of my mental definition of malevolent being "incorrect") I agree that Ati-Ruin wasn't Evil but he was certainly a hostile entity to life on Scadrial, that is why I label him as "malevolent." I know he was only acting according to his nature but doing so would be considered "bad" from the point of view the people he was destroying. On the mist... I think it is necessary to keep in mind that Sazed-Harmony is actively controlling the mists at that point. The whole FE-mist's aversion to spikes thing is a result of them being a mostly mindless creation, it is instinctively retreating from the power of its opposite. (And of course there are the Ruin-mists, but I don't think they really are factor in that case...)- 19 replies

Hemalurgy in Brandon's reading of Shadows of Self
WeiryWriter replied to Chromium Compounder's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yah, I'd agree with this. Though I would stipulate it was the demise of Ati-Ruin (since Ruin the unthinking mass of energy still exists) and a "malevolent" force instead of "destructive" (because Sazed still has the destruction impulses that Ati had, they are just tempered by Preservation's impulses).- 19 replies

Hemalurgy in Brandon's reading of Shadows of Self
WeiryWriter replied to Chromium Compounder's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I pretty sure the book was written by Spook, not Marsh. (I remember someone asking Brandon about it and him saying "it certainly doesn't sound like Marsh")- 19 replies

Umm... I don't have time to respond to this fully right now, I'll try later today. But this really should get moved to the cosmere theories forum, too many spoilers for the other series.

I'm already working on a re-write for Elantris (city), just so you know. Some Articles that need urgent attention are: http://coppermind.net/wiki/Korath http://coppermind.net/wiki/Jindo http://coppermind.net/wiki/Teod http://coppermind.net/wiki/Wulfden_the_Fourth

Ati's Hair. (Don't laugh. I know it's a strange topic).
WeiryWriter replied to Mikanium's topic in Mistborn
The original Shardholders come from Yolen, as does Hoid. -
Are you going by the chart? If so there's a problem Shallan has a Cryptic and is one of the "bottom three."
-
I highly doubt that lerasium wouldn't work in hemalurgy. It would make no sense, atium works in both so lerasium should work in both. I also highly doubt lerasium or its alloys would have "non-decay" because that would kind of make them "better" than atium which doesn't have non-decay. On the OP... Eh, I'm not sure, maybe? I'm not really sure spiking can be healed though. My personal theory is that lerasium acts as an allomancy-master spike, i.e. it can be used to spike for any allomantic ability.

Ah, okay. If I remember correctly it was from the Surgebinding Chart, the Heralds are placed in the border in the same order as their respective orders. Jezrien/Windrunners in the upper-right and clockwise from there.

http://coppermind.net/wiki/Ten_Essences <-That should help with the Herald pictures. The Herald pages on the coppermind all have their corresponding images.
-
Hmm... I've always been inclined to capitalize it. As for Brandon he has both not capitalized it, as he did when he first mentioned the name. And capitalized it, as he did when he confirmed the name's canonicity.

I agree, I think Rithmatist is his best non-cosmere. Steelheart is pretty good too though. And so is Alcatraz... Basically you can't really go wrong here. You should definitely check out The Emperor's Soul, it is easily Brandon's most beautiful work. It's my favorite cosmere "book" hands down.

The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
WeiryWriter replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Returned can have children. The priests do take an infant returning as a sign for the God King to be replaced but they would rather have his successor be his actual child. -
The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
WeiryWriter replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Some Warbreaker questions Was the God King before Susebron the true born son of the God King before him? The God King before Susebron was mentioned to have an elder sister who was not Returned. What's her story? Did she have the Royal Locks? After the events of Warbreaker are any of the priests how knew the Returned-fertility-trick still alive? -
Which Brandon Character Would You Date?
WeiryWriter replied to Chaos's topic in General Brandon Discussion
For the sake of completeness, Vasher is shirtless at least twice in Warbreaker. Once he changes in front of Vivenna and her inner monologue goes something like "Why am I watching? I should turn away. Chest hair." Then at the end there's the scene were he just wears a towel around his waist. -
Sorry but this is a huge pet peeve of mine, Excalibur and the Sword in the Stone are not the same sword. The Sword in the Stone was pulled from the stone by King Arthur which proved his right to the throne. Excalibur was given to Arthur by the Lady of the Lake many years later after the Sword in the Stone was broken.
-
This has actually been brought up before in the Isasik Shulin thread, just so you know. (I tend to agree that it is a sylized version of the bottom right "order" on the Voidbinding chart.

Well the original reason I thought Darkness was Nalan was a gut "I think this guy is a Herald." I figured if he was a herald he would be one of the ones in the chapter header. Since the two Heralds in the chapter header are Vedeledev, who is female, and Nalan, he had to be Nalan. And then other people found the stuff gloom quoted and it became a commonly accepted theory.
