Brandon has confirmed that Renarin is on the Autism spectrum. Wise/Careful was my first thought as well. I dismissed it though because Brandon says "no else sees" the spren Renarin sees. I take that to mean no one else sees that kind of spren and since we know Jasnah is an Elsecaller and very likely sees her order's spren I don't think it is likely they are the same order.

Exemplary and Complete Article Candidates
WeiryWriter replied to Chaos's topic in The Coppermind Wiki
I've added the pairs to the Spanreed page and I've made the suggested changes to the Fabrial page. Except for the list of fabrials. The way the page is set up there is no place for it that makes sense, instead I added a link the Fabrials Category which should serve much the same purpose. -
Probably because no one has gotten around to updating it. On Oct. 24 he mentioned in a tweet that he expected "the last draft to be done in a week or two."

I have a sneaking suspicion that Dalinar will not be the one who dies before his viewpoint book. Brandon is quite vocal that a person might not necessarily survive until their book, but he always uses Dalinar as an example. I think Brandon might be using it as a red herring. Or Brandon is just playing mind games with us and he knows we would think that and rule Dalinar out so it is Dalinar... (and Hiss... foreign wiki)

I wouldn't put too much faith in that. Brandon has mentioned that WoR has pretty much turned out to be the same length as WoK (even though he promised Tom Doherty it would be shorter... I'm kind of glad he was wrong). And he like just finished the final edit, I would be surprised if it had already been typeset and that information released to booksellers. I'm guessing it just an estimate, most booksellers have them even if the book isn't even finished being written.

Ah okay, that makes more sense.

Verify what exactly? He isn't a compounder... Or am I missing something?

I'm not saying it was your intention to sound that way, but your phrasing does sound dismissive. Granted it could just be how I'm reading it. I just know that calling a ship that somebody likes "totally random" before giving them a chance to explain it is, in my opinion not the best way to have handled it. I just think it would have been better to have Aether explain his reasoning before judging its random-ness. I know that some tumblr people were put off by some of the reactions to shipping in this thread. Now I don't think anybody was deliberately trying to be dismissive, or at least I hope they weren't. But some people took it that way, and it turned them off from joining in here. Which is truly a shame. People do not always react to things how you would expect and we have to consider that in how we phrase things. I don't know what you were trying to get across when you made your post, only how it sounded to me. Does that make sense? Basically, when somebody posts a new ship I think we should here them out before judging it.

My first time editing the wiki: The Set
WeiryWriter replied to Cartith's topic in The Coppermind Wiki
The wiki has some guides to help with this. I would reccomend reading the following pages. http://coppermind.net/wiki/Help:Cite <-the main page for the basics http://coppermind.net/wiki/Template:Ref <-the main tool we use, (we use this most of the time) http://coppermind.net/wiki/Template:B <-shorthands for citing books Really though, I wouldn't worry to much about it. You will learn, and until then it is easy enough for us to fix things. Edit: Ninja'd by Joe... Curses! -
The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
WeiryWriter replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Shai is a follower of the Unknown God/God Beyond. Is she peculiar in this regard or is it a common belief among the people of MaiPon? -
That is a bit dismissive, don't you think? I could see Jaladin happening, though I wouldn't say I would ship it. I certainly wouldn't say it was "random."

Exemplary and Complete Article Candidates
WeiryWriter replied to Chaos's topic in The Coppermind Wiki
I've generally been adding to a list on my User page of articles I think are Complete which I will post below. Fabrial Artifabrian Spanreed Half-shard Grandbow Painrial Pain Knife Emotion bracelet On Ashravan, I would say no. It needs to be updated and slightly expanded I think in order to match the new guidelines. (I wrote that so long ago, I've gotten better at writing articles since then) Shai... I guess I would say the content is all there, I would just want to fiddle with some things here and there, nothing that would keep it from getting Exemplary. -
This is true, if a little understated. Awakening is the only confirmed instance of a cognitive focus, the Commands. (Sel and Scadrial both have physical foci, and we have no idea what Roshar has) @marianmi - On cognitive stuff, there is always a cognitive aspect to magic. Forgery, for example, deals directly with an object's cognitive aspect. On gemhearts being the body of a shard, I don't know. We do know that gemhearts are formed by a leak from the spiritual into the physical similar to how atium was produced...

If you want one you are in luck, do the Shardhunt! (And if you want to discuss the clues, or ask for help you can do so here.)

I do think that if he doesn't end up being a Skybreaker he'll end up being a Dustbringer.
-
I definitely remember reading something to this effect, but I can't find it in the interview database. I will keep looking though. He did say that here.
-
Usually we call them death rattles.

I would say that we do not know that all spren are splinters. We only know that some, like honorspren and presumably the other radiant spren, are. But the non-sentient ones like windspren, lifespren, or laughterspren? Those I do not believe are splinters.
-
The first one. (Though I think it is more "when" than "if")
-
Buy, spren are cognitive identites so it makes sense her form would be partially dictated by such a pervasive aspect of rosharan/vorin culture. Adolin will be a Skybreaker.
-
This has been on my to do list for quite a while, thank you for getting this started!
-
(I'll go through and respond to the pre-existing ones a bit later on) I came up with this in chat earlier today: Adolin is a potential Skybreaker (Order 2)

Which Brandon Character Would You Date?
WeiryWriter replied to Chaos's topic in General Brandon Discussion
ugh Spook... Edit: (in case you can't tell, I really don't like Spook, I think he has the worst resolution to a character arc in the cosmere) -
Not directly, but the stoneward in Starfalls appears out of thin air so I would say yes we've known travel=teleportation. (Granted that is very likely a fabrial, but still.) Also we know of the existence of Oathgates which we believe allow instantaneous transportation across vast distances, which very likely utilize the transportation surge in some manner.
