  1. Yeah! Dark elves! Always need more. Heh, I don't actually know like any of the lore though, so . . . yeah. sorry.
  2. I do like the idea of an inactivity filter. Especially if this is a discussion based game. Do you know when roll-over will be?
  3. I'm back boys! This seems like the perfect game to re-integrate myself. Lyce Norvo. Dark elf with cropped hair and one green eye and one violet eye. carries two long daggers and a bow. Charcoal grey clothes. Not socially confident. Normally keeps to himself but if he needs something done, he normally doesn't bother with manners. (purely for potential rp (which might be sporadic at best) purposes and not for playstyle)
  4. I said it in the thread mentioned by @Orderbound, but I'll say it again here. I would want to be either Connection or Transference. My world would be completely covered in forest. The only place that wasn't covered in trees is the mountains and the rivers and oceans. For a magic system, I'd use the mass of the objects around me as an energy source (the wood of a tree used as a source would shrink and eventually disappear) and the output would be mostly kinetic energy or motion (like shooting an arrow without a bow or flying).
  5. Neat! So then you wouldn't be able to compound like in mistborn. Smart. I like the concept of geographical magic.
  6. That sounds really interesting. So if you affirm something in someone's mind, would they then be able to make it true by the first type of magic? And if you don't believe in the magic, then would you not be able to use it? Or if you believe that the magic acts a certain way, would you be able to change the magic system to work how you want it to?
  7. Ahhhh! The math and the magic! It's Perfect! Thank you so much for showing me this pinnacle of creation!
  8. 1) Personally I'd say some sort of jewel or crystal if we were still going with the shard analogy. But I think that you can't apply that to Adonalsium. Shards are a concept made by humans. You can have a shard of something, but a shard in and of itself doesn't have any real value. Shard isn't the name of a thing, its the name of a part of a thing. 2) I would want to be either Connection or Transferance. My world would be completely covered in forest. 9. On the topic of light and dark magic, I think that it's a mixture of the two different answers I've already seen. I don't really like "light and dark magic" based systems, but that being said, I love magic in general. What I personally think happens in light/dark magic systems is that they both have a different source, like the positive or negative emotions Tsidqiyah mentioned. However, I also think that the different types of magic have different purposes as well. Light magic would be drawn from a "positive" power source and put out positive effects, while dark magic would come from a "negative" source and put out harmful effects. Take surgebinding and voidbinding for example. I haven't read into this too much, but from what I understand, surgebinding comes from Honour's investiture, while voidbinding comes from Odium's investiture (I think? Again, I'm not sure). We don't know too much about what voidbinding does at this point, but we know loosely what surgebinding does. I think that we can assume that voidbinding has different, more violent uses for it's powers. Less flying and sticking, more dismembering and explodifying. Moving on to Tsidqiyah's question, I think that the modification of materials would be a great basis for a magic system, so long as you carry through properly. I can see potential if you are creative enough with it's use. For example, make a hail of arrows the mass of straw or some such shenanigans, therefore shielding the hero from harm. It's kind of like allomancy. Even just a coinshot is able to do so many things! I told my friends about a magic system where they push on metal with their minds, and my friends gave me a blank stare in return. But look at what it actually is in the universe! The most basic of concepts can be extremely effective bases for magic. I like it.
  10. Sounds a bit heavy. The magic system would have to be executed absolutely perfectly, with fairly hard rules. Soft magic wouldn't work because of the level of power that you are dealing with. And honestly, I'm not entirely sure how you would make the magnitude of the mages' power work with a fulfilling story line. I can see why you would make the wind mage and the spirit mage the core protagonists, since they would have to be the most creative with their powers (at least as far as I can tell from what I imagine their powers are). And with the two gods, it sounds a LOT like the shards on Scadrial. I see a lot of cliches and super-symmetry (a fancy word i just came up with meaning that you seem to be trying too hard to cover all of the aspects of the universe) in this, but if you use your magic correctly, then you might be able to pull it off. Basically, it depends on the magic system that you are planning on using. I'd have to know more about that to accurately analyze it.
  11. Very impressive. The only thing that I could say about it is that you almost force the forge into it. If you had mentioned it earlier, like when you were describing how they bicker, then it would feel more natural and flowy. This would just be a prologue right? For a story this wouldn't do, but for the exposition, it's great. Then again, take my word with a grain of salt. I'm no critic, I just enjoy reading.
  12. Yo! That's so cool! I shall do everything in my power to accomplish the goals laid down by the oaths of the assassins in Technicolor clothes and further our cause.
  13. How about something about Szeth and his journey? That would be interesting right?
  14. Oh my lord, I can't resist. I'd love to be a part of this. My natural tendency is to wear dark grey clothing, sometimes a darker, heartier red or green or blue, but I suppose that being Technicolour eliminates that possibility doesn't it? I only ask that the colour bestowed upon me sound edgy or really cool. I will be colorful instead of dull I will advise against any and all baked goods I will greet all newcomers and not provoke guild war The Assassins in Technicolor clothing must rise again!
  15. I think that all the stuff you dont like looks classy.
  16. Wow. I like it. I had to check that I was on the right site twice. It'll take a little bit of getting used to, but it seems very promising so far.
  17. I don't know. The map doesn't go that far north.
  18. Either not knowing what to say or not having anything to say. Or if I was still mildly depressed, then I would say not having any friends. But that's not accurate. Especially looking at it from a new, non-pessimistic point of view.
