Actually yes, the only thing that the Lerasium does (the default outcome) is to rewrite your Spirit-Web to have a Stronger connection to Preservation (and this Strong connection make you a Lerasium-Mistborn). Because "probably" more you are connected to Preservation, more power you may obtain from him. Also Vin probably when she was outside (without the earring) has assimilate some Mist (Gassous Leraisum) that slowly raise his Allomantic Power (and Connection to Preservation).

The right one probably is the first, she has something like a "special pass" to the mist, of course without the attuning through the Well she can't be compatible to the whole Shard-level of Investiture. It's a no sense. In Feruchemy you have no upper limit while tapping the Metalminds. Anyway if the Allomantic drain works like the Nightblood's draining (and we have no proofs at all) you may drain a metalmind only if the Owner are taping it and only at his taping rate (however he choose). If this is true, you may use it to prevent a Feruchemist to use his Metalmind. It a great trick but works worst than aganist an Allomancer.

Much more I can't avoid to see how, in America (if the TV Series are accurate) is more easy to have problems with the zombie than in other parts of the world. For example here, we live in condominiums with a single resistent gate and quite no windows at earth level. Every palace like this is actually a anti-zombie bunker
