  1. Raoden actually thinks this exact same thing. He says something like "There seems to be more than one way to channel the Dor."

I don't know. I think Hemallurgy and the monks of Dahkor are more expensive. I guess it matters on your point of view. Is it worse to die, or to have your soul taken? I guess it also depends if being a Drab affects you in the afterlife.
  3. Clayshan has been compared to Feruchemy. It is moving your body into the proper positions, and channeling the Dor while in these positions. A long time ago, I made the observation that it might be more like Feruchemy in that it isn't of Aona or Skai, but is rather nuetral.
  4. Eerongal did take
  5. I think that it will be slightly different. This is the first time in the epigraph symbols we see the face associated with Chach. Chach is associated with Brave/Obedience. It seems like these faces (which are likely Heralds) often represent either their magic system or characters. For example, the first time we see Syl is also the first time we see Vev (Loving/Healing). The first time we see Jasnah is also the first time we see Palah (Learning/Giving). The Herald at the end (Taln) also has the face associated with Tanut.
  6. Roshar- It seems to be stormlight/spren driven. Perhaps it's Stormlight for the Almighty, and Spren for Cultivation.
  7. I've got another one. The Mad Prince (from the deleted scenes in Elantris) has 10 generals. How many Aons are there?

As a hopeful engineer, I could some interesting free energy uses here (Sort of like Scribbler) You could get a lifeless, make him run a treadmill to get energy, or Awaken a gear and tell it to turn. As for how to get breath, you have free health care- but. When you are about to die, you must give your breath. Those that don't (pending extreneous circumstances) give their breath, they must take a breath from their family. The hospital sells the breaths to the 'energy' companie

    Redshift?

Or under really, really bright lights. I could see a criminal making sure to work in the dark to minimize the effects of the Bendalloy.
  10. cursed the shards
  11. One thing to remember is that all the Elantrians were wiped out ten years ago.
  12. Finally! A solution to my problems! http://www.xkcd.com/806/
  13. Stormlight, so Andrew
  14. Evilspren! Bwahaha! Or, more seriously, maybe he uses the Stormlight to boost his intelligence, but the more he does it, the less his actual intelligence gets (a sort of drug if you will).
  15. Oh, I know what the Ooathpact was. That's Peter's contract with Brandon. The Oathpact is also mentioned in the prelude, when they wonder if it will stay since someone will be there for the next desolation.
  16. But- Jasnah says that what Shallan does is different than what she can do. She says something like "it's similar." But it isn't exactly the same.
  17. I was under the idea that Midnight Essence were the creatures that were black and ferocious that Gavilar fought off. Though I like your theory of the Sphere being the real reason why Gavilar was killed.
  18. I don't think that it will all be this close together. Look at the mistborn triologies-to-be. They won't be for a couple hundred years. I just think that this section is, based on his statement that he skipped some books chronologically that he will write in the future, because he decided to write Way of Kings now.

    Redshift?

Hey! This comment is for you physicists out there (pointed look at Chaos). Technically speaking, when someone uses Bendaloy/Cadmium, would there be a redshift/blueshift at the bubble, so everything outside the circle looks either redder or bluer depending on the metal, and vice versa for outside the circle? I was just thinking about how light doesn't speed up or slow down, it just changes colors depending on the speed of the object.
  20. The people were tragically called "Sympathetic eaters." It didn't matter where they were born, or who their parents were, these people became the nationality of the food they ate. Several went into the spy business (boom! Instant local!), some went into the culinary industry (people seem to make their culture's food best), and some became computer technicians (someone had to do it). Killer Santa hat!
  21. airplane driven by (Bwahaha! Spited!)
  22. Peter! Why did you look! Go away. There aren't any secrets here. Now that Peter's away, I have a question. When is Ookla day? We talked about it several months ago about changing all of our usernames on TWG to Ookla the incompetent, etc., and I can't recall the dates. Can you?
  23. Maybe before they were just really weak. Or maybe Aona showed them how to do it.

    Mistings

Mabye instead of Cyrogenics, we'll have Cadmium Savants, keeping old people young- or at least younger.
  25. You know what? I'm going to take a random stab in the dark. I'll be a Bendalloy fuerchemist! You know, we really should come up with a name for Feruchemal mistings. Fuerchists? Chemists? Chems? Metalings? Maybe we should just ask Brandon what the name is, for clarification purposes. (I would've gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those metaling chems!)
