  1. No, I don't think that's what happening with Arsteel. Remember? Vasher gave him a wealth of of breath before dying. No, I think his more responsiveness is due to being around people that he knows, being familiar with being back from the dead, and having a Faux-Returned body (like Vasher)
  2. Don't forget the dreaded Mistborn Llama. Also let me find the Hemalurgical Animal quote.... Yeah that's all he says. I thought he said more than that, but nope. I've always assumed that it meant that you could take things like "Human strength" or things like that from them, not give it to them. Not allomantic spikes- just human ones (like the ones Kandra have). Hmm. But if you do get animals with allomancy, than hemalurgical spikes could come in style again. Could even be a public company- Want to be able to fly like a Lurcher? "Push around" your friends and enemies? Then buy one of our Wolf Earrings! Made from the most pure strains of allomantic animals, these ferocious animals have the strongest Preservation ratings yet detected on animal life forms. Buy today!

    Redshift?

My question- how could you use this, plus presumably other allomancers/feruchemists to create FTL transportation? Brandon said it was possible, and I am trying to figure out how. Maybe a Iron Cheming increases his weight a massive amount, a Iron Misting pushes on some engine, and a Cadmium bubble keeps this happening faster than real time? Except that the bubble is stationary. Hmm. Unless the bubble is stationary to the person's gravity placement (like time manipulators in OSC's Pathfinder). Yeah. The "spiritual" connection that connects a person to the planet also ties their bubble to them. So, if they had a new gravity, the bubble would stay there too. Maybe a Chromium push on a handful of Cadmium burners lets it happen. That be amazingly expensive though. Especially considering how much it already costs to get a ship up in space and propel it places.
  4. Yep. That fixes it. Never mind.
  5. It's on there now. And the Reddit is partway on.
  6. I know the idea was thrown around that Hoid has it, and that that was the "element" that he writes about in the letter in WoK. But there are troubles with that.
  7. On the front page, the text could handle having a little more room to breath. Right now the smaller articles run up right next to each other, leading to slightly humorous titles.
  8. Soulcasting. I mean the simple economic value of it astounds me. I mean a Windrunner can save people in battle, but a Soulcaster can save people from starving. And we've always had far more of the second than the first. Peanut Butter or Jelly?
  9. Windspren, I can imagine right now, you in your lab, doing something like this:
  10. I am here to proclaim the truth: The right brothers were not actually an evil conspiracy dedicated to the enslavement of people through luggage charges. They were really aliens, merely trying to better society. We humans came up with the luggage charges.
  11. Hey! It's me. If you want to, you can look on the wiki for it too. That one isn't formatted as prettily, but it will load a lot better if your internet is being screwy.
  12. I don't remember where the quote is on that one, but I do know where the quote is on this one: Never mind, I don't have the quote. Perhaps it's in the annotations.... Nope. Oh well. I remember the wording pretty well. The Lord Ruler left the bead as a back-up plan. He wasn't sure that the Lerasium was going to last forever, and if something went wrong, he wanted to have another Lerasium bead- just in case. And that turned out extremely well for the world. TLR not being selfish in that instance, or maybe just being cautious, let Elend be an Allomancer and time his death right so Vin could avenge his death.
  13. Here's what Brandon has to say about the Afterlife.
  14. Who says they haven't?
  15. And apparently, it doesn't work when you quote it....
  16. I agree with you Chachel.
  17. Wow. That is great work.
  18. I can't wait for the interview. The few hints that have dropped have been intriguing....
  19. Also, may I say: Constable Peterus, may you Rest in Peace all your days. May you live forever with the Survivor and the Ascendant Warrior and learn the ways of the Lost Metals.
  20. Perhaps what it does is it enhances the Cognitive Presence of the Ferchemist so much that he is able to "touch" other minds. He was able to gain control of the Koloss, because that one happened to be extremely emotional when he was "touching" his mind. I know. A long shot for sure, but I had to come up with some sort of reason that it would work.
  21. I wonder... if you gave someone their own breath back to make them a Lifeless, would that Lifeless be a bit smarter, a bit more adept at following Commands?
  22. I would like to announce that the cake is a lie (finally).
  23. I think that this has some good things going for it. I could possibly see the first one, simply because Sazed probably would be interested. Except that the Seventeenth Shard in the Purelake seem to be actively looking for Hoid, rather than for informaion. And Hoid would probably join them if that was all there is too it. He was training the guy in Bridge 4, teaching him about cultures and stories. The second seems a little implausible, maybe because I'm not sold on Chaos's Intent, and plus getting a Returned, a Seon, a Spren, and... whatever else and mixing them up seems a little hard. Especially since neither Ruin or Preservation had Splinters.
  24. Wow Cheese-ninja! That's a perfect fit! I think that's a pretty awesome confirmation of Shalash. I wonder. It says that she is the "Daughter of Kings and winds. Does this mean that her father is Jezrien, who was once a King? And is this saying that Jezrien really is the Stormfather?
  25. Well Hoid is "adept at manipulating the Shadesmar", which he seems to use to get from place to place. Maybe he's using it again? But I agree with the fact that Hoid would simply talk with Kaladin, and wouldn't put on the pretense of granduer. I do think that the old opinions still hold some merit. I think it's very possible that this is Jezrien, the Stormfather, who has been overwhelmed by all/part of Honor that he holds. You know, I've always thought that perhaps there was a third cognitive presence that points out Elantris=Rao to Raoden before he encounters the leftovers of Aona. And whoever answers Sazed's prayer, because Vin doesn't even realize he needs help when she sends Elend there.
