  1. That comic was actually the first time I heard of Google+. I was curious about it, so I checkout the site, and then I checked here to discover Chaos was handing out invites! It worked well for me.
  2. Huh. I got in, and I'm 17. But I only have a month or two, so maybe that was close enough. EDIT- Actually, I don't think I ever gave my birthday to Google. There is a piece of information google doesn't have about me!
  3. At least Brandon plans on having a Mistborn in his second trilogy. True, it is a homicidal mistborn, but he's still a mistborn.
  4. Perhaps the Dor is a synonym. Perhaps instead of being an aspect in the Cognitive Realm, it is the Cognitive Realm.
  5. Yeah, my guess is that with the current rate of Warbreaker Annotations, they'll drag out to November and then we'll have Alloy of Law Annotations to hold us off.* *If he did them
  6. I remember the dark sphere. But where does Took talk about it? (Or is quoted as talking about it)
  7. I know the header you're talking about. Stormblessed have done quite a bit of work on the headers, and let me show them to you here: (A lot of this isn't fact but is instead observation) http://www.stormblessed.com/2010/10/05/the-ars-arcanum-and-heralds/ And we do have confirmation that Odium is Rayse:
  8. Pick me! Even though I think they shut down invites temporarily due to massive interest...
  9. That's true, I forgot about Shuden and the rest of the JinDo merchants... Ooh! I had an idea. What if, the reason why Fjordell and JinDo people can't become Elantrians is because they already have their own connection to the Dor! Fjordell people have the Dahkor monks, and the JinDo have ClayShan, and the Aonic people have Aons.
  10. I found this quote from the HoA Q&A: "Sazed didn't immediately leave this [how to run his religion], as he was too focused on other things. The next period of time will be difficult for Sazed, as he essentially sees himself as an avatar of deity--the force of Preservation--and not God with an upper case letter. He's still not sure what Truth is 100%. And there is an afterlife, but it's probably not what you're thinking. In other words, Sazed has not touched Heaven or Hell, and actually doesn't yet know what the final beyond contains. He has, however, run into some people who have been sticking around something of a middle place. It's related to the larger cosmology, and I'm afraid that I'll need to RAFO anything further. "
  11. I believe that Teod is inside the "Elantris Effect" as well. It'd be a lot easier to tell if the map was a little more exact though... Maybe we'll have to wait for the 10th aniversery for that.
  12. Another question (I swear half of these are mine) . A few years ago, you talked about making a 10th anniversery edition of Elantris, revised and updated. What sort of things would you revise? Would it include Raoden putting the Chasm line in Kae instead of Elantris?
  13. I would like to announce that I just reorganized the Brandonothology, to make it more accessible. And that's a lot of pages to go through. 153 to be exact. (No, no new information, just more accessible information)
  14. As I was working on the Brandonothology, I stumbled across an old comment that Brandon said: What is the x in Aon Mea? Is it one of the Shard-pools? Afraid not. Aon Mea references the expanded region within which the "Elantris Effect" will create Elantrians. The X is fertile valley with a high density of life, a place with a lot of cognitive activity. (Cognitive as defined by Realmatic Theory includes the 'thoughts' of all things that exist, not just human beings. The more complex the life form, the stronger its presence on the Cognitive Realm.) A rough version of Aon Mea: ______ )______( )__)_.(__( )______( The red is where the x is. The middle square is a closed off Aon Aon, and then there's a bigger square around it. I think that this Aon may explain some questions about the Shaod. This is why Fjordell lands don't become Elantrian, and it may also explain why power is so week outside of Arelon. I suppose a question is, what happens when an Elantrian goes outside the outer boundry? Do they have the same amount of power as they would if there were no Elantris? Quesitons to think about...
  15. I have a feeling AonDor is most likely to be connected to Aona, just like Lerasium had to do with Leras, and Atium had to do with Ati. And since we have the above quote that Aona is some sort of synonym of Charity... Actually, looking at that quote, it makes me think: What if the ironic part of the conversation was that we were right- but for the wrong shard? What if the Aona was Unity? Or Devotion? The one thing that really stops this is the Seons. They are based off of Aons, and they are entirely about service, giving, and caring for their masters; rather like the Elantrians. On the other hand, The Skaze (which seems to be based off of Skai) seem to be integrated with Fjrodell politics, and as "evil Seons", they seem to support the Fjordell ideas of Unity.
  16. I tend to disagree. I believe that Sazed is/will be somewhat tainted by the difference in the powers, and that may result in people like or dear mortician. But I do think it is a bit soon- I didn't expect to see any taint until the 2nd or even 3rd trilogy.
  17. For those with a want for a little sooner, (but less polished) allomancy, you should talk to MetalcoreRancor over at TWG for a Star Wars Battlefront 2 mod that puts you in Luthadel and lets you play as Vin, Inquisitors, Koloss, and various mistings. You can check out some demos here.
  18. Quick question- In answer to #18, is it 17th shard (Us) or Seventeenth Shard (Cosmere group that has a Grumply Dula)?
  19. Is this the 17th shard interview? Or a different one? And is there an audio/video record? Or a transcription? EDIT- Sorry, I'd just like a copy for the Brandonothology.
  20. And I don't think it's accurate to say that there is a "good" shard for every "bad" shard. I mean Preservation could be just as harmful as Ruin. (Look at the Lord Ruler keeping everything the same for a thousand years.) Like Ruin says, he's not good or bad, he's just Ruin. Also, Endowment is the only Shard on Nalthis. I'm pretty sure we have that confirmed (somewhere...)
  21. No, I seem to remember certain spren coming from the dead bodies of a chasmfiend. It may be the first battle. Let me check. Edit- Found it. pg 224- Dalinar looked up at the hulking carcass. Tiny, near invisible spren were floating out of the beast's body, vanishing into the air. They looked like the tongues of smoke that might come off a candle after being snuffed. Nobody knew what kind of spren they were; you only saw them around the freshly killed bodies of greatshells.
  22. I found something curious as I was searching through Brandon's site. It was an early chapter from Final Empire Prime (a book that was combined with Mistborn Prime to make the book we know). Now, from what I can gather, this book was originally intended to be a part of the Cosmere, and so I found this excerpt... interesting. (The Conquerer is an early form of The Lord Ruler, and Sha is an early form of Ruin). Now, the Sha was content to stay back, playing with its priesthood, being the unseen God of which the Conqueror was the Incarnate. They could not be rid of one another--without the Sha, the Conqueror would die. Without him, the Sha would be a mindless force, for the portion of his soul he had given to it had granted sentience. So, they stayed together, but worked apart. The arrangement suited both of them, for both knew who had ultimate rule of Eternal Khol. Now, I know this isn't canon, but I think it gives us an insight (a little) on how Shards/Dor/Splinters? work.
