  1. Must.... resist.... urge.... to upvote... witty remark..... Alright, I give in. Upvote for Chaos. (And that's NOT just because Brandon's said that a lot. Definitely not.)
  2. Chaos, did you just downvote me? You totally did! See, you're looking at this post: And I just barely got a downvote right after Tulir gave me an upvote! EDIT- No, my posts will continue to be so awesome that I will still be ahead of you when I come back.
  3. So the other "I would like to announce" thread is getting pretty full, so I thought that I would start a new one. I would like to announce that I'm only 2 rep points away from Chaos (213 vs 215). So close...... I'll also announce that I barely survived my chemistry test last night. Man, was that test difficult.
  4. I'm pretty sure that it's just due to time. Pretty sure they are the exact same person, just the name tends to get changed after thousands and thousands of years.
  5. Reddit AMA
  6. You mean that you don't believe that Rand is actually the Dark One, biding his time till he takes over the world? It's a totally sound theory! It's so sound it's almost fact!! Anyways, we're always glad for new members. If you want some background information, I suggest you check out the Cosmere 101 thread in General Theories. That is actually based almost entirely on quotes from Brandon. We hope you enjoy it here Jon Paul!
  7. I just wanted to thank you for your fantastic contributions to the Mistbron thread. It's really been helpful.

  8. You should sign on to Skype or GChat. I've got a question to ask.

  9. Just a quick note- Be careful about responding to this. You don't want to spoil the ending.
  10. Better- add them to the Coppermind. Some of the planets really need some work.
  11. I have one for Scadrial, but I don't remember there being any say about Sel or Nalthis one way or another for moons. I remember that Roshar has three moons, but I don't remember where I got that from. I'm pretty sure there's in-book support for Roshar though. And hey! It's from the old TWG HoA Q&A: Yeah, I don't have any other interviews about any of the moons. Is there mention of moons in the texts? Let me check.... There's one moon in Sel. On page 329 of the hardcover of Elantris, it says: Plus there's the whole Jesker Mysteries thing that revolves around the moon. Now for Nalthis. Yep! There's a moon. Page 468 of the hardcover of Warbreaker says:
  12. Something like..... This? With that, let me give a plug for the Coppermind (The 17th Shard wiki). It's really handy for quick fact checking (like what Feruchemical power does aluminum have? Oh yeah, it's Identity), with culture things and more. If you have a few minutes, you should take a look at one of the stubs and grab your books and make the wiki page a little longer. Don't worry too much about putting something that's wrong. There's a couple of people looking at it that will help catch simple mistakes. But do try and do it right. Right is good.
  13. That's a good idea.... But that's not it. Sorry. Green Hoodie Mistborn's Report
  14. My guess would be that Invested materials can't be burned Allomantically. Pretty sure. Especially considering that they can't be targeted by allomancy (just like metals in someone can't usually be targeted).
  15. Happy Birthday oh Mighty Shard!

  16. We're glad you're here! So where are you from, approximately?
  17. Wouldn't it be nice if you could turn your car into an instrument?
  18. Although if you are looking for an award, there are a couple of in-forum things you can do to receive awards. You just have to look carefully....
  19. Hehe. There's still another book my friend. And Always another secret. This is one of my favorite parts of the book. The deaths, the koloss, the Awesome Flying Vin, it's all so fantastic.

    Promotions!

I'm glad that my application worked so well! For those of you wanting to be admins, take notes. http://twg.17thshard.com/index.php?topic=6066.msg126499#msg126499 Joking aside, I'm really happy to be an admin. Hopefully I'll do a good job of entering in a new reign of.... peace... and stuff.... Nah! Now where's that hemalurgic labratory?
  21. There are either 2 other sets of 16, or 3. There's all of the 16 metals combined with Atium, All the metals combined with Lerasium, And then (possibly) all the metals combined with an alloy of Atium & Lerasium, also called Sazedium, also called Harmonium. We don't know if such a metal makes alloys. It's very possible that one of the effects of at least one of the alloys affects someone else. We'll have to wait and see.

    Mistings

Sort of. When you tap Pewter, the primary effect is increased strength, but the secondary effects are increased muscle size (and thus increase in mass), and also (presumably) a slight increase in the stretchability of skin (to allow for increased muscle size). These, per the Law of Feruchemic Storage, are also attributes stored when you're storing pewter. But it doesn't have all the abilities than allomantic pewter has. Allomantic pewter increases strength, agility, speed, endurance, and healing. It's like a big adrenaline burst. Feruchemists have to store all of these things separately. Pewter only stores strength, Gold stores health, Steel stores speed, and bronze stores wakefulness. I bet that Gold would probably help a lot with your endurance.
  23. Yep. The opposite is true when you store an attribute. It's been noticed (slightly), by the fact that Wax, when storing Iron notices that he must become a little stronger so that his body doesn't crush himself. We've mostly come to the conclusion that he doesn't necessarily become stronger, but that he becomes sturdier, and that's a side affect of his tapping weight. Now because he becomes sturdier when he taps weight, and because Feruchemal processes follow the Law of Feruchemic Storage** that means that Wax MUST become more fragile when he stores weight. It may not be very much, but it must happen. **I'm making a new term! The Law of Feruchemic Storage, simply put is "For a purely Feruchemic process, what you put in, you get out", which must mean that "What you get out, you must put in". Compounding doesn't breaks this law because it is a combination of
  24. There are a number of metals that affect outside the users. There's Iron and Steel that Pull and Push pieces of metal outside of yourself, There's Zinc and Brass that affect others' emotions, Cadmium and Bendalloy that create time bubbles outside of oneself, and then there's the two metals you mentioned, Chromium and Nicrosil that either flare or eliminate metals in another allomancer. EDIT- So in other words, half of the metals are external in use. I (personally) feel like the Law of Sixteen isn't broken because the God Metals (and their alloys) are outside the normal group of Sixteen metals that are available to everyone.
  25. It's only one extra digit, right? I'm sure I'll be there in no time.
