1. Update: The game will be an RPG set hundreds of years in the past, at about 700 BHA (Before the Hero of Ages). It will star Fendin "Fiddle" Fathvell, " an arrogant young man who must learn the art of Allomancy as quickly as possible to engage and beat the evil forces trying to destroy his family." The last name was actually created by the Mistborn: Inquisition RPG we have on the site. “I’m a huge fan of the series, and I cannot wait to get this into the hands of gamers,” said Matthew Scott, CEO of Little Orbit. “Between the distinctive magic system, the story twists Brandon has planned for the game, and the rich depth of character skills, we’re creating something very unique for players to enjoy.” Also in the works is a motion picture. PS- I dare anyone to say that name 3 times fast. EDIT 3/24/12- News from Brandon: EDIT- 3/27/2012
2. In that case, I'm going for Kelsier, all the way! Because we all know what would happen if Kelsier was present during the coin toss.... Whoo-hoo for fandom!
3. Plus, Twinborn is the name Brandon used for it. We may make up new words for unknown terms, but we're not going to dispute with canon unless Brandon contradicts himself. Though, i would be nice if we had a term for a Mistborn /Feruchemist. Though again, as has been said, it doesn't seem like we'll be seeing any more of them, so I'm not sure it's necessary.
4. It makes sense that Honor isn't as good at future sight as Cultivation is. Honor, as an emotion, tends to look at what the honorable thing to do right now is, or remembering promises that were said before to try and keep them. Cultivation is all about helping you grow in the future. So it makes sense that she would be better at future sight than Honor. Although I don't think that this is so much because of what the Intent is, as it is the effect on the Shardholder's mind. So Cultivation isn't good at future sight because she's Cultivation- she's good at future sight because her mind is so shaped by Cultivation that it is easier to plan and see into the future. Does that make sense? In other words, If someone ascended as Cultivation, but deeply believed that Cultivation was about learning from your past, than that Cultivation wouldn't be as good at seeing into the future. This may explain why Preservation was so amazingly accurate with his prophecies, while Ruin managed to walk in seemingly blindly. It makes sense that Preservation would be very concerned with the long haul, while Ruin tends to be very passionate about the now, about what he can do now to destroy. That's not to say that Ruin doesn't plan- he does a magnificent job helping overthrow The Lord Ruler. But Ati seems to have become a being of passion, of lust after Ruin. Such people don't look into their future plans very often.
5. It's a side effect of having your soul crushed and "upgraded".
6. Yes very. You're so kind to me Shiver! (At last, I know the power of being an Admin! BWAHAHAHA!) (Your power is nothing compared to my own! - Shiv) (hey, what's going on over here? -Eero) (I would like to announce that this is a total abuse of power. I would also like to announce that this is hilarious. xD - Shiv ) ("Get out of my head, charles! -Zas" as quoted by Eero.) AHHHHHHH!- Zas (Go monkeys go. -Chaos) (*wipes away a tear* Look Chaos. Our new admin is all grown up and abusing his power. - Shiv) We're professional. Totally. -K.
7. Yeah well, Zaphod was in a really really close race. As in 10 minutes before the end there was 9,960 votes. By the end there was 10,238. Pretty sure an hour before there was only like 8000ish votes.
8. So apparently Korra Nation (which looks pretty darn official) is releasing the first 2 episodes of Korra: The Last Airbender this Saturday. Here's their website: http://korranation.tumblr.com/post/19697273326/the-legend-of-korra-to-unlock-this-saturday
9. I'll make an editor's note an that one saying that there are discrepancies. Thanks for the heads up!
10. Welcome! I know there's a lot of information here, but you've already made a couple of really good posts! And if you want to help improve it, the Coppermind could really use some quotes from the database about time bubbles.... And as for 17th Shard, Brandon actually came up with the name for it. He said it was an in-cosmere organization that we could relate to. And trust me, we can relate to searching for Hoid.
11. Happy Birthday!

12. Hey! Portal's on sale again. Portal 2 is $10, and 1 & 2 is $12.50.
13. I agree completely with Odium Shard. I wish there was a better name for the determination of the transformed object than "light". And there is some variance. It's not just the 10 essences that you can soulcast- so your cognitive presence has more interaction in the manipulation of stormlight than pointing. It really does play a part in form the object takes, otherwise Jasnah wouldn't be able to attempt to make Strawberry Jam. The 10 essences are certainly much easier, but they aren't the only possible things.
14. Your name is fantastic. Just thought you should know.

15. It's most likely Shalash. (Shallash?) Europe Report But he did also say: 17th Shard Interview But I'm still pretty darn sure that Shallash is Baxil's mistress.
16. Mistborn 1 spoilers! Except that Kaladin Kelsier has more practice at dying than Moraine does. We know that Kelsier would die for the greater good, that he would die to make sure that later on, things would still work out. I bet that Brandon would draw on this,so I'd probably have to vote for Moraine. But we'll see how the write-up goes. EDIT- Curse you Feather Writer, and your fangirliness!!
17. That's actually a really good possiblitiy. I haven't thought of that before. My only problem with it is that Shallan's father doesn't have that passion for the Truth that Shallan has. (Shallan mentions her passion after Jasnah kills, right before stealing her "soulcaster"). It seems to me that that is a vital characteristic to Shallan's form of Souclasting, since they are Truthspren. (The Interview is coming!). Though Shallan's father could be a Jasnah form of Soulcaster.
18. Or if you want to read the real one (which isn't trimmed down to just Brandon answering questions), you can look here, but it's really really really long. You'll be fine just reading the Q&A from the database. Just a note- EUOL is Brandon. We're glad you're here! Your English looks fine, by the way.
19. It was pretty sweet. Brandon's line wasn't actually the longest (the first one I've been to that's been that way), which is perfect because I got to ask a number of questions- from the naming of Spren, to interesting things about Ruin's mind-changing, to the debunking of some coincidences. I'll post the transcription when I have it done.
20. I would like to announce that I went to a Brandon Sanderson signing tonight, and was sitting next to him, and someone there asked if I was his son.
21. Hey guys, I have a favor to ask of you. Every so often, I stumble across an interview. Sometimes they're all typed up, which is nice and easy for me to add to the Interview Database. But sometimes, I stumble across one that is a podcast or an interview. These are much more time consuming, and so I decided that I would reach out to you guys to receive help. Go ahead and tell me if you're planning on transcribing an interview so that we don't do duplicate work.

I'm going to keep this list current, and when you finish a transcription, go ahead and shoot me a PM, or an email (zach at 17thshard.com), and depending on the interest level, we can either put it straight on the Database, or we can make a thread on here with the transcription. Oh there's one more thing- you'll also receive an award. That's right, I'll give anyone who transcribes an interview over 15 minutes long an award. Hoorah! 1. Speculate SF- Brandon Sanderson Interview- (March 7, 2012)- Windrunner (in progress) 2.AHH! Data loss!!! Sometimes I think IPB doesn't like me.... 3. St. John's Q&A- (March 2012)- Voidus (in progress) 4. Boomtron Inverview- (Sep 21, 2010)- Voidus (in Database) 5. Google + Hangout- (April 17th, 2012)- Voidus (in Database) Others I need to put in database: http://www.ericjamesstone.com/blog/2005/08/11/writer_interview_brandon_sanderson/ http://twg.17thshard.com/index.php?topic=6896.msg151810#msg151810
22. Curses! I accidentally gave you a downvote. Sorry!

23. This is the only reference we have of Surgebinding's Focus. Just thought this would help things. Book Signing Report
24. If you want to know more about lashings, you can try the Amazon Look Inside for Way of Kings and go to the very last pages. It includes the Ars Arcanum

25. There's a recent Power of Creation quote that makes that position stronger. Let me see if I can find it. EDIT- well, there's this one: Norway Signing Here it is, it's the Open The Fridge interview But Chaos does have a rebuttal to the idea of a single consolidated Power of Creation. He believes that the Power of Creation is just another word for the power that the Shards hold. If he wants to say more about it he can.
