  1. Not yet..... It'll be there soon! EDIT- The Boomtron interview is now on the database.
  2. So many of us have been chatting in the chatroom, and we decided we needed a thread designated to different ideas about who/where the Heralds might be. First, because I am the Quote-master, let's have some base from Brandon. 1. Shallash is almost certianly Baxil's Mistress. 5. There are several Heralds in WoK 6. Jezrien is not a Sliver. Note that at current, we have 4 at least. Kelek, Jezrien, Shallash, Taln. Okay, now it's time for guessing. So we have, for certain (Or within a reasonable doubt), Shallash and Taln. That leaves: Jezrien- Niter Nalan- Chach- Vev- Palah- Betab- Kalak- Fluent Bridgemen Ishi- Drunk Beggar in Prologue, I know there's a Herald theory out there about a Bridgeman, saying he's Kelek. There's also a Ishi theory out there, that he's the drunk bearded guy who talks to Szeth in the Prologue, and I'll let them explain that theory as well. But I like my theory. I believe that Jezrien is Niter, the man in charge of the Cobalt Gaurd. Niter--head of the Cobalt Guard--ran to intercept the newcomers. He could be overly suspicious at times, but that wasn’t a terrible trait for a bodyguard to have. He returned to Dalinar and Adolin shortly. Tan-faced, Niter bore a dark black beard, cut short. He was a lighteyes of very low rank, and had been with the guard for years. And what are Dalinar's colors? That's right. Blue and white. Jezrien's also an important enough person for Brandon to make a main character, but Niter is someone who is currently obscure enough to make Brandon hesitate before saying he's in the book. So what are your guesses? Is Nalan the merchant from the Interludes? Is Beteb a random scribe? Make your guesses!
  3. Kurk- I just decided that you will be the first one rewarded with a High Transcriber award- for your amazing work on the Alethi transliterator. Thanks!

  4. Interesting. When putting the Google + Hangout in the Database, I found something interesting. I don't know if he meant that or not, but this could mean that there is an Elantrian character (whether Galladon or someone else) in Warbreaker or Mistborn.
  5. For those interested, here is the link to the transcription. Thanks Voidus! http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=755
  6. Or cookies. Those work too.
  7. Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I don't know what happened! I'll refind the old interviews I had up there before. Voidus, I have you down for the St. John's Q&A
  8. Thanks! You've been awarded! By the way, there's a new one that I found where Brandon is talking with a class about Alloy of Law.
  9. May 2009 at the latest. Brandon first announced it here, but it was old news to us by then. Here's where he talks about how Gathering Storm is coming out, and how he's going to revise it as he's writing Way of Kings. Here's Peter's post about getting hired on April 5th: I think it's the Stormfather, whoever that is. It might be Jezrien? I don't know. But the Stormfather is the name I associate with it. It also could be the shattered remnant of Honor's mind (like the Pool in Elantris has a remnant of intelligence with it, which I assume is the shattered remnant of Devotion). So the Stormfather, who is either what's left of Honor, or Jezrien is what I think. There's this quote from a Gathering Storm Report
  10. After. Let me pull the quotes up. Hoid was mentioned once by a member in TWG (Natalia), but the topic died before any real discussion began on it. But it was pointed out again in the Hero of Ages Q&A on TWG by Chaos who said: Someone then asks if Slowswift is Brandon, to which Chaos & Brandon reply: Hoid appears in that same chapter, but Vin doesn't meet him. Something he does spooks her. She's just too darn observant for her own good. And then, Peter said That's pretty much the discovery of Hoid. There's some discussion (and discovery) about Hoid (where he is in the other books for example), till Brandon says this near the end: Hoid is a mystery which I cannot speak on other than what has been written in the text of the novels. However, I'm sure that others have explained it by now.
  11. This! I claim EeronGal as my defense!
  12. Brandon actually has confirmed that the recipient is indeed in Dragonsteel. And it does have Dragon in the title.
  13. Hey! So I thought that it would be a good idea to have a thread that was open to any question about Brandon Sanderson's work. Doesn't matter if it's been asked 1,024 times, or if it's the first time it's been asked. We'll attempt to answer it. It can even be a question about a quote (like has Brandon ever said anything about splinters). For clarification- the Ultimate List of Questions is generally for questions that haven't been asked before, for questions that we want Brandon to answer. These ones will be answered by us. So go ahead! Ask who Hoid is. Or what a Sliver is. Or what these Shard thingys are. We'll answer! Though if those are your questions, take a quick look at the Cosmere 101 thread. But we'll explain more if you still want more information. This is going to be a spoilery thread though, so be careful if you don't want to know about endings and such. EDIT- We can even answer about specific Brandon questions. Like "What was his response when Harriet called him?" or "What books does he like reading?" or "Which does he prefer, Mac or PC?"
  14. Ooh! This looks fantastic! I remember hearing about this and I'm glad it worked out.
  15. And if you're wanting full unpublished books, there's three ways to get them. 1. Know someone with one. Assumably you don't have this, or else you wouldn't be here. 2. Email Brandon. Say what a great fan you are, how much you love his work and such, and he might send you a copy of White Sand or Scribbler. Though I think he's only giving out White Sand right now. 3. Check out Dragonsteel from BYU/ through Interlibrary loan. Though if you're dying for more content right now, there is this thread with many sample chapters, and then there's all the annotations that Brandon wrote up for all the books.
  16. Congrats! You're an Ardent!

  17. Deep in the Hemalurgical Laboratories of the 17th Shard Dominion, laughter is heard. It is not the sweet joyful laughter of the innocent- no, it is the cruel, crazed laughter of one who has dealt so much pain he has been driven mad by it. "So, I heard that you are a Knight Radiant of some kind, yes?" "No, not really! I just chose it for my username because I thought it sounded cool!" This second voice was pained, younger, more innocent. And scared. Yes, very scared. The first voice was pleased with the fear. It would make this more... enjoyable. "We have noticed your talents." The second voice was confused. "Talents? What? I'm not a Smedry!" "Not those sort of Talents, you twit! The other sort. The quoting. The Realmatic verse. The persistence. Don't think these things have escaped our detection." "But does it really have to come to this!?" "Yes. It is... the only way we know of." There was yelling, as thuds were heard deep in the dungeons. "Welcome. You have joined... The Ardentia." In other words, we have promoted Windrunner into the staff member as an Ardent (the people in charge of the theories). He's been fantastic so far, and we look forward to seeing more from him!
  18. Lyssie, I'm pretty sure that I know why. You're LDS right? You're probably channeling the Martin and Willy Handcart company. (For those of you who don't know, the Martin and Willy Handcarts were two handcart groups that travelled by handcart to Utah way way too late in the year. A bunch ended up dying in the snow, and it's a pretty familiar and powerful story for many in the Church)
  19. Hey Twinborn97! Is it you that's been hanging out around the chatroom lately? We're glad to have you!
  20. Brandon apparently has three part time jobs! One as an illustrator, one as a high school football student, and another as a soccer coach!
  21. Zas678

    Herald of the Night

    *Jawdrops.* That's fantastic!
  22. You got it! I don't remember if you did either. Let me check.
  23. Hey! So for those who missed it, there was a Google+ Hangout that was a blast tonight. There's a video here, and a partial transcription here. Sorry, but we were trying to do it live, so it hits the main points, but some of the things are skipped over and not spelled right. Here's the video: http://t.co/3Pcy6ON6 Here's the doc. I'm splitting it into 2 so that spam bots don't eat it up. So just post it in your URL as one link instead of as 2 lines. https://docs.google....ent/d/1EC0lSTyT waykrsVwjd3j3kYLcNr5xKY1qCxGzGdFCUM/edit So who wants it?
  24. I would like to announce that my brain has melted. That Chemistry test was horrid.
  25. Oh good! I saw Brandon's tweet, and I'm glad you found your way to your site. I'm pretty jealous that you were at the Knighting in Taiwan. I hear it was fantastic. Glad to see you here!
