Pierce heart was thumping harder than Tiberius' steps. What had changed? He had never seen Tiberius so angry in all of his years of service. Perhaps the unease was getting to him harder than Pierce had thought. Next second, Kalax was on the floor, out cold, Pliny was yelling himself hoarse and Tiberius was walking out of the hall, shaking in rage. Pierce stood up and stretched, "Great way to end a party aye?" He said to the person standing next to him, then walked away before he could answer, shaking his head. He walked over to a wall, he had spotted Khazad. He could perhaps fit in a quick chat before he went off to the war-room.

Darkness made his way to the Aurie quick enough. But at the magnificent gate that was open to the Aurie's courtyard....it struck. And Darkness forgot himself, fully moving into his new persona. It never forgot to make him forget. To prevent any cheating. It always struck. A few moments of disorientation, his head spun, his ears rung, if it weren't for a few helpful Browns, he would have fallen. " Master Dominus....are you alright?", one of the browns asked Pierce couldn't answer for a few moments, then abruptly, the world came into focus, the ringing and spinning stopped. He coughed. " Ah sorry for inconveniencing you my dear Browns, what would your names be? Your concern is to be rewarded ("are you sure your alright Dominus?") Yes, yes, of course I'm alright, would you care to escort me to where the party is being held?" "Of course, Dominus, come this way" They helped Pierce along for a few steps, then when he was certain he could walk, he thanked them and continued without there support. They had directed him to a great hall, lights, laughter and chatter leaked out of the almost closed doors. "Thanks again my dear Browns, names please?" Pierce asked, smiling jovially at them, back to his former self. They shifted uncomfortably for a moment, and Pierce's smile faltered for a bit, then one of them spoke up, "Me name's Pater, master Dominus, and this would be Schmuel, Pavil, Adolf and Joseph. We are glad to have been of service for you tonight". "I will make sure you are all suitably rewarded, you are dismissed". The four of them scurried off quickly, slinking into the shadows of the halls and the pillars. Pierce sighed contentedly. Travelling space with ol' Stick may have been a blast, but there's honestly no place like Mars. Rolling his shoulders and cracking his neck, Pierce stepped forward and pushed the door open, stepping into a party in full swing. Stick stumbled past him into the hall, obviously drunk again. Pierce smiled and called out to the Lancers in the room. "Heeeelllloooo everybodayy!! Pierce is back in gold, now whoo's re-day to to paaaartayyy!!??" The music stopped, the chatter stopped, the laughter stopped. "Oh look, Pierce is back", one of the older Lancers cheered, and just like that everyone broke out in laughter, groups called him over, people clasped his hand and gave him a good hearty slap across his back. He raised his hand in declination to the groups, searching the hall for Khazad. It would be good to see him again. After what happened with Rolah, it would be good to make him laugh. Remembeeeer whyyy you are heeeere....the Forsworn surrouund you and the other Faithfulll, slowly closing in....working too theeeir eeendgame. Pierce started, what was that voice? What did it mean?? Who or what are the Forsworn? Shaking himself, and taking the voice to be an indicator that he had been away from civilisation for too long. Shuddering he continued on his way, amid the laughter and the voices. He began to notice things, people lurking in the shadows... not making any move to join the festivities, taking to observing from a distance. He saw two girls run past him giggling, clutching something in their hands. He wondered what they were up to. And then he saw group of older Lancers chatting in a circle, sitting on cushions and sipping drinks. He made his way to Tiberius, pushing through the crowd jostling around him. "...icated to you, and my death will be in your service. This I swear, as I have sworn before and will swear again, my sword and my life and my death to you.” Pierce caught this little oath between a female Lancer and Tiberius, although he wasn't sure how, she had been speaking so softly. She rose from her bow, and exchanged a few more words with Tiberius. Darn she cut an appealing figure. Most Lancers ended up squandering their appearance as Golds, still making large and imposing figures, but still with just a teensy bit more fat to their girths. He caught the name "Lumina" in their exchange and decided to remember it. She turned around, and her lithe, strong figure marched down the steps. Pierce nodded to her, "Lancer". She nodded to him as well, but hindered him not, continuing on her way. Pierce took a shallow breath and walked up the steps, executing an immensely complicated and long ceremonial bow he had learnt in his travels. Tiberius chuckled at it, "Ah Pierce, it's been too long since the laughter you enticed has filled these halls". Pierce flashed him a grin, "It's my pleasure my Lord," he said, giving another small bow, "I am but your humble servant". "..And one of my most trusted". "You flatter me my leige, I hope you don't expect any vows from me aye?" Tiberius stood and hugged Pierce, "Of course not, you have served me well for decades, that's as good as any vow" Pierce laughed, "It's good to see you to, you old dog" Tiberius chuckled, then a moment passed. "Pierce, I want you to stay alert for me. Can you do that? I can't explain the feeling, but...there seem to be other forces at work here on Mars. The Sons of Ares are problem enough... but I am uneasy. Do me a favour will you? Can you speak to the other Lancers? Learn their allegiance?" "Your wish is my command, my lord. I shall execute it with utmost proficiency" "Good to hear...good to hear, thank you Pierce, and may you live many more decades" "I wouldn't mind a few extra years, it's been good to see you Tiberius, but I need to go find Khazad, may I be dismissed?" "You may, Lancer," Tiberius replied, formality returned. Pierce nodded, then gave a little wave, turned on his heel and made his way down the steps. "Khazad you slippery eel, where are you?"
