Don't forget that the cognitive realm overlays the physical one. North, south, east, and west apply to both. "Place closest to honor" may be a reference to shadesmar i.e. the dirctions should read "west and in shadesmar." The more I think of it, the more I can't help but to compare Shadesmar to Tel'aran'rhiod(sp) in wheel of time. There're some obvious differences, but they are eerily similar as well.

Not accessable by foot, used for transport and teleportation, contolled by radiants... Personally, I think urithiru was a place constructed somewhere in shadesmar.

Some of the more recent spiderman games had similar controls with his webbing. If there's something to swing by when you hit the button, he'll swing by it. An auto-travel button with direction would be nessesary for a Mistborn game. Pushing or pulling on enemies or objects would need to be seperate from the travel button though, or need a combo maybe?

So it cuts the allomancer off from interacting with the metals they have ingested at the time they burn the aluminum, but any aditional reserves they gain shortly after are unaffected? Does gaining additional reserves 'reconnect' the allomancer to the reserves cut off by aluminum? Is aluminum a temporary effect so that metals gained immediatly after burning aluminum are 'disabled' as well, and can the allomancer 'reconnect' after a set period of time?

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure whether they were spheres or actual gems. It seems to be gems can be re-infused but wear or break from overuse. The pieces would be cut into smaller gems, until you end up with small chips that don't hold much stormlight.

The effects don't have to be ruinous, Ruin was about intellegent decay/destruction. He's more than willing to build something up to knock something else down.

I forget where this was said, but someone stated that TLR used nicrosil-minds to power his atium-minds. He would sit by the fire in his "Terris-room", store warmth, compound warmth, drain the charge to his nicrosil-minds, then charge up his bracers. Can anyone confirm this? Or am I delusional?

The bubbles are actually anchored to the planet, not to the allomancer, which is why Wayne can move freely inside his bubble.

Large-scale alterations can likely only be done as step-by-step processes. Similar to an actual surgery. Edit: Well that was a weird, I post a response and in only showed the quote. Then when I edit, it posts again. Interesting hiccup.

But what about Soulbearers without allomancy? It was pointed out to me that no ferring with a title like 'Soulbearer' could possibly be compared to an allomantic gnat. Brandon tends to focus on Limitations when designing his magic systems (Sanderson's Second Law) so I don't think storing some of your "spark of preservation" , your connection to the shard that grants sentience is as easy as you think. I get the impression that the 'spark of preservation' has less investiture in it than in allomantic or feruchemic strength, so the rate they could store investiture is limited. There's a cost too; if a soulbearer ferring is storing power from that spark, he becomes like a Kandra without their blessing. Non-sentient.
-
My thought was that nicrosil ferrings can only store and use investiture from sources they have access to, so no draining an enemy of their powers. I also think that the only other investiture for vanilla nicrosil ferrings to access would be their own human attributes tied to their spark of preservation. Meaning that they spend some time being subhuman in some way and be superhuman later. I unfortunatly forget what all the Human attributes are, but they're connected to Kandra 'blessings' . A twinborn or double nicrosil ferring should be able to drain the effect of their allomancy into their nicrosilmind, and enhance their allomancy later.

The Order of the Knight's Radiants revived (spoilers)
Aradel replied to tipbruley's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Wait, Shallan's name matches Shalash and Kaladin matches Kelek. Coincidence or design? -
She also drained two of her spheres and cracked another. I don't know about you, but soulcasting during combat seems to cost a lot of stormlight.

I don't remember the exact number, but I think WoK happens around the same time as AoL. So yeah, he's apparently found a way to extend his life.
-
Actually, it's been confirmned that Demoux is a world-hopper. I asked at a West Jordan signing of AoL. He was in the Purelake scene. Assuming that he didn't just 'hitch a ride' there has to be a way for him to world hop. Maybe Sazed can move other people around with his Shardic Might. Edit: Demoux was an Atium misting last time we saw him. Odds are it's somehow involved.

Brandon's religious. Not alot of it slips into his books, but you'll likly never see any of the good guy's having pre-marital sex.

Have you only read the first book?

If two shards on seperate worlds work similar powers into their systems, could they be a mimicry of powers that predate the shattering?

Theory: Each Shard has a Corresponding Number

Wouldn't that be seven? -
WoK Unflushed out theories (spoilers WoK, MB)

I've always been suspicious that hoid might be gathering fragments of shard power. Elhokar mentioned seeing "symbol-headed creatures" in mirrors and out of the corner of his eye, I'm pretty sure he's of the same order as Shallan. BTW: "Flushed out" means "Gotten rid of" . Like flushing a toilet. You meant "Fleshed out" meaning "Filling in, Building on the bones of" ; which makes much more sense. -
I wouldn't say secrects are evil. Especially when used to conceal information that really shouldn't be handed out. A shard called Secrecy would be pretty interesting (Hoid could be Secrecy!) , but I think secrets are going to stay a mistborn trope. "There's always another secret." I've always considedred pride to be the root of all evil. If Pride was a shard I don't think Hoid would like them any better than Odium.

Good question. When the Lord Ruler "consolidated" his empire, we ended up with three groups: noble, skaa, and terris. If there are original Scadrians, they would be one of the following. 1: The ancestors of the Terris people. 2: The principle ancestors of the Skaa and/or Nobility. 3: A seperate people that was either wiped out or absorbed into a larger population. I'm leaning against the first option because neither Sazed or Rashek needed to be 'tuned' by Preservation's mists or the Well of Ascention to wield shardic power. Vin (who was both Noble and Skaa) had to first be snapped to become an allomancer, burned the mists a few times, and take the power at the Well to before she was ready to become the next Preservation. Allomancers showed up when people started eating Lerasium. As far as we know, Feruchemists appeared natually. I take it to mean that the people of Terris are naturally more attuned to shardic power because they were created from it. On the flip side, it could just be that all humans on scadrial were created by preservation and the world was named by world-hopping surveyors before the breaking of Adonalsium.

As I recall, Szeth and Kaladin both drew on the stormlight from sapphires. They are the smallest denomination of sphere's and most (if not all) of Kaladin's spheres were sapphire. Because they're common and cheap, sapphires are also used for illumination. Szeth often draws on stormlight-infused lamps to fuel his windrunning. I'm willing to bet that anytime it mentions what kind of sphere they draw from, it's a sapphire. (Of course I don't have a book on hand, so I'll double check this later.)
