  1. I've been doing them since day 1 and I absolutely love them. I wish there were more to do than just one per day lol. I'd love 6 letter words or even 7 or more. No idea how hard it is to create that, but it'd be awesome! I'm having a lot of fun with them. I've gotten all of them so far, but it's been close sometimes. There's some really obscure stuff that I'd never have thought of, but it's cool to be reminded of lore tidbits like that.
  2. I know, but the point isn't that it's just intentional, but who named them. It had to have been someone cosmere aware, like Exalted Dungeon Master said, possibly the Heralds. Problem is that their language from back then hasn't survived, so it has to be a more modern term. Heralds are, of course, still around, so there's a good chance they kept it and passed it along, but are we sure?
  3. So I've been wondering why the people of Roshar call Shardblades and plate it the way they do? The speak of having "shards", but I haven't found out why they do this. Who named them like this, and was this person aware of the Shards of Adonalsium? If the language from when the Knights Radiant is no longer around, then a word like Shardblade wouldn't be the same either. So it has to be a more modern word. Is it just a coincidence or is there an actual meaning to it related to the Shards, and if so, how?
  4. Yep, that's true. With my expectations so low, it can only be better, I guess.
  5. By themselves they'd be phenomenal movies. I hate them because they left out so much of the good stuff that I was hoping to see. I'm a huge fan of the books.
  6. Harry Potter makes you optimistic? I absolute despise those movies. I can't bring myself to be excited about this for numerous reasons which include but aren't limited to invisible magic systems being made visible, limited story, starting with a series that isn't finished for another 15 years at best, and actors that age while these books will take decades to finish. A tv series would've made me more optimistic, I think, but overall I wouldn't have minded if there were never any films. In fact, I'd prefer it.
  7. I've been in the area many times, and I really miss Italy. I would've considered it if I'd realised sooner, honestly. At the same time, he's also visiting Barcelona this tour, and my luck would have it, as an FC Barcelona fan, that they play away in Seville and Manchester the week he's there, so I can't combine a visit to Brandon and a match. Guess I'll wait until he's in London in or around April.
  8. Thanks for the answer! Is it known what would happen then when Nightblood clashes with Kaladin's shardblade/Syl?
  9. Am I understanding this correctly? Does this mean Nightblood could have theoretically Secret History spoiler:
  10. I honestly have no idea how I'd see Wit without knowing of the Cosmere. I also accidentally spoiled it for myself and read that Wit is Hoid before he revealed it himself. It's hard to imagine who I'd think he'd be if I didn't know anything about him and the Cosmere. I think it's nice that he's more prominent this time around, though. He's been mysterious for so long, and still is, but I always wanted to see more of him than just a single quick scene. SA is really taking off in the fantasy genre, so a lot of people are getting familiar with Brandon through SA. With Hoid being on the foreground so much, new readers might spot him much quicker in other Cosmere series and become aware of the overarching universe. (I'll admit I never noticed Hoid until people pointed it out to me, despite his having revealed his name on multiple occasions throughout different series. (This was before I read SA.))
  11. Convince Jasnah with Wayne logic. It'd be over quickly and I'd rather meet Jasnah than Wayne. Plus I really want to see her reaction. Would you rather be a mistborn during Hero of Ages or a normal citizen without any magic during Alloy of Law?
  12. Chapter 5, bottom right panel on the 2nd page, Ais says "Sharezen" instead of "Sharezan".
  13. Very disappointing. I wrote a longer post in the main thread. A little voice in my head keeps hoping for a real novel release as well, even though I know that's not going to happen. I hope they won't stray too far from the prose. That way I can just keep reading the prose instead of the graphic novels whenever I feel like reading White Sand. What I did like was the way certain characters looked. Khriss looked exactly as I pictured her. Kenton as well, and Aarik looked much better than how he was described in the prose/looked in my head. It was also very exciting to get a proper map of Taldain and to see Lonzare. My post in the main thread:
  14. I've read the prose version and finished the graphic novel version last night. White Sand prose is one of my favourite Sanderson stories. Let me just say it's a damnation shame they decided to publish this as a graphic novel instead of a real novel. It felt way too rushed, way too short, and way too lacking in detail. I found myself constantly wondering whether non-prose readers were going to fully understand certain situations, and I felt it was a shame they were going to miss out on the details that are given in the prose. I'm not a fan of graphic novels at all and this didn't change my mind. I thought it was a cool idea, it had potential, but I feel they missed the mark. I'll admit it was really cool to see the characters and places for real, and I got super excited I finally got to see a proper map of Taldain, though. And Khriss looked exactly as I pictured her. Of course it's too early to judge the entire thing before the next volumes are out, but if the next ones are as disappointing as the first and they stick closely to the prose, I think I'll just keep reading that instead of the graphic novels whenever I want some White Sand.
  15. Of all the characters, Ais was about the last I'd expected to have been gender swapped. Curious how much it'll change. Thanks for posting this.
  16. I wish it was a normal novel because I really don't like graphic novels, but I will get it, of course. I'm quite curious what will be different.
  17. A mistborn with atium would play with a sand master, to be honest. Sure, the sand might be so fast you can't dodge quickly enough (though it isn't faster than the eye can see as far as I can remember), but with atium you don't have to. You just dodge pre-emptively. One dodge and one well-aimed steelpush might just be enough to kill a sand master. The only problem is, what are you going to push off of in the desert in order to move around quickly enough? How far would coins sink into the sand to still be reachable with allomancy?
  18. I did dislike Elend a little less on my 2nd read-through and I actually didn't mind him in HoA. But overall, I doubt I'll ever be a fan of him.
  19. I really like this idea. I've not heard someone mention this before. But it has to tie in that creating fire does draw them. That raises the question why.
  20. I dodged a bullet there. I read Sixth of the Dusk after Secret History, so I'm not dead (yet)! Although if we count rereads, I started my Warbreaker reread just earlier, so I won't complain at being Vasher instead.
  21. This is exactly why I love Kelsier. Kelsier is by far my favourite Cosmere character specifically because of these things. I guess he just stuck with me from the start of FE and I never let go. That also led to me disliking Elend throughout the entire series, however. I have the feeling that no matter what happens in the Cosmere, I'm always gonna be on Kelsier's side for some reason. I just trust him.
  22. Not having footprints in the snow was solved by having them in the dust in Kredik Shaw, though, weren't they?
  23. Khriss showing up and just flat out stating her name like that has to be the highlight of anything cosmere for me (especially because White Sand is my favourite cosmere novel after FE). Though Kelsier decking Leras. Probably the funniest moment so far. The way it was executed was perfect. I love Kelsier.
  24. That's awesome. Pretty much like I imagined her. Steris grew to be one of my favourite characters in the Era 2 books, so I hope her role will be even greater in TLM. "Only" a year and a half to go if all goes according to plan. ;_;
  25. Are we sure about this yet? Last I checked Brandon stuck to Hoid not being in Shadows for Silence, despite Peter not believing him. Unless he was on Threnody in the past in general. (A theory I don't know of, in that case.) On topic: I am in the Sovereign is Kelsier camp, and the Cognitive Healing makes a lot of sense.
