  1. Ironically, I was wondering what happened to you just a few days ago! Glad to have you back.
  2. I too am rooting for "Trell" not being Autonomy. I've got some crazy thoughts regarding Endowment, or possibly her opposite. I personally believe that each Shard is grouped into a pairing of opposite intents. Devotion and Odium (love and hate), Dominion and Autonomy (all versus one), Cultivation and Ruin (growth / decay), for example. Since Trell was originally introduced as a god alongside Nalt (pretty close to the name Nalthis) I could see Edgli somehow being involved. Super unlikely, but still interesting to think about. I was around when SoS came out. It was pretty much simultaneously released with the Autonomy name drop. I've personally always thought that it was a red herring, and really do hope that's the case. That being said, no matter what Branderson decides, I'm sure it'll be satisfying. So far the only thing he's written that I've been disappointed by was Calamity (particularly the ending).
  3. Despite it being potentially unwise for me to sign up for a game this complicated as my schedule becomes increasingly busy, I somewhat feel obligated because of that fact. I'm in as Victor.
  4. This is kinda off-topic as well, but... All this talk of Bismuth got me thinking, and this is totally out there and likely very inaccurate, but let's assume that "Trellium" is truly meant to be Bismuth. Bismuth in it's "pure" state is gray with rust-colored streaks. I've seen someone previously describe it as "dull" as well. You know what else is dull? Drabs. What if Trellium in the state that we witness it is invisible in the same way that a Drab is to an Awakener, and that it can also exist in fantastical, colorful forms (like Bismuth) that we haven't seen yet? Inb4 "Trell" is Edgli, that Edgli was Ati's sister, and that Edgli is mad at Sazed for his part in killing her brother. EDIT1: Edgli and Ati do have somewhat similar sounding names, and given the "rust" color found in Trellium/Bismuth, it might explain the phrase "Rust and Ruin". EDIT2: Hm, just realized that Edgli putting a bit of herself in every Nalthian (Breath) is most similar to what Leras did for Scadrians. I can't help but wonder if Edgli was somehow involved in that decision / process. I mean, her Shard is Endowment. I think I need to do some research into the Trell religion to see if it can compare in any way with what he know of her. EDIT3: Hmmmmmmm... Nalt... Nalthis... HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM... Think I'ma start calling this metal Naltium. EDIT4: More quotes from the Coppermind, more speculation... Kinda aligns pretty well with Edgli having a part in "endowing" Scadrian's with bits of Preservation. Then we see this bit about "Trell had made men like him specially to right wrongs in the world." Remind anyone of anything else? *Cough* Returned *Cough*. Also didn't the colors gold and red belong to a certain Returned? I want to say Lightsong buttt, my memory isn't the greatest. Now I'm wondering if these "Faceless Immortals" are actual Returned, and are ingesting metals to keep themselves alive.
  5. What? Do you not remember MR15, where it became impossible for me to win so I helped the village win? I'm doing the exact same thing here >.> but whatever. If you don't listen to me the village is going to lose. You probably don't care, though, because since you're so close to Lopen now, I wouldn't be surprised if he promised to have Alv convert you so you can win with them. Oh well. Sart and I have already decided to kill you tonight, anyway.
  6. Alvron's claimed that he's not a Citizen and that he'd scan as an Eliminator to multiple people. I seriously recommend you lynch him along with me. You guys can't really lose anything but a Neutral if I'm lying, but since I'm not, it'll subsequently prove that Lopen and Rae are now Converted and get rid of another Eliminator before his team can get stronger. If you don't follow my advice, ya'll will likely keep wondering if I'm being honest or not, and that'll only make things more complicated from here. I don't care if you guys lynch me, I welcome it now with open arms, but I do care if you guys continue to stumble in the dark or not and be overtaken by another eliminator team than my own. Please, heed my advice. Stink is a Neutral Role and has multiple powers. I reckon that Alvron's role also has multiple powers. I'm just aware of is the Conversion and the Extra Life. If he has anything else I cannot say for certain. Lynching him is the quickest way to figuring that out.
  7. I’m sorry to do this without your consent, Sart, but after Stink decided to betray me, I see no way that we can win this. He won’t budge, and since we now know that Rae is Neutral-Evil with Alv and Lopen, she's automatically going to take their side. I would not be surprised if they figured out you’re on my team based on what I've already posted today, and since Lopen has a kill I imagine that means he’d use it on you tonight. As people should know by now, whenever it becomes a sure thing that I can't win, I am willing to accept defeat and do whatever it takes to make sure the majority of players can win instead. So, for context. Last night, Sart was “Converted” by the Patriarch and learned that the it is an Eliminator role capable of turning Citizens into Neutral-Evils, while Converted Eliminators retain their original win con. All Converted players are put in a PM together, while the Patriarch can send anonymous messages to them via the GM, and in return receives a transcript of what’s said that day turn at the start of the night. So far, Lopen and Rae have been converted. I am not sure if they need to be killed in order for the game to end, but if ya'll kill Alv and Sart after me and the game still hasn't ended, my best guess would be that that's why. We know for a fact that it's Alv because Alv was scanned by Bard as Unknown, meaning that he's a role that has not been revealed already, and everyone else has either been scanned by Bard or hard confirmed. When I found this out, I decided to try lying about Bard actually finding out Alv was the Practitioner. I left him a PM asking him to please go along with it, since I had, like Stink, admitted I was evil to him and promised to help him win so long as he helped me in return. Since he has yet to betray me (unlike Stink) I ask that you guys leave him alone. He doesn't deserve to get dragged down along with me. Here's a chart from my doc containing everything I know about the remaining players. Name Role Alignment Amanuensis Jeskeri Practitioner Evil Alvron Patriarch Evil Aonar Faileas Retired Pirate Good Arraenae Beggar-turned-Bodyguard Neutral-Evil Conquestor Retired Pirate Good Elenion Duke Good Eolhondras Beggar-turned-Bodyguard Good OrlokTsubodai Legionnaire Good Sart Jeskeri Acolyte Evil Stink The Mad Prince Neutral TheMightyLopen ChayShan Practitioner Neutral-Evil The Young Bard Jindo Neutral This will be my last post this game, as there's really nothing else for me to comment on. For all of the Citizens I betrayed and killed to get this far, I know you're all cheering for my defeat right now from the dead doc. Take solace in knowing that your deaths were not for naught.
  8. I'm pretty sure I said I don't trust the information you gave Bard was completely honest. That being said, I trust that Bard scanned you as the Jeskeri Practitioner absolutely, so it doesn't really matter what you would or wouldn't do. I'm not a storming elim. But you already know that from our PMs. And this is exactly why I said in the very beginning of the game that we shouldn't trust you; you're allegiance would be fickle and likely cost the village the game. I'm really disappointed in you. Especially after I decided to dump everything I knew to you and trust you completely after Elb, Wilson and Mage died.
  9. Probably because he's not an eliminator, like I've already confirmed, and once again I'm going to argue vehemently that I haven't done a single thing "evilish" either. I was locked up for half the game and I've been trying to do nothing but find the eliminators the rest of the time. Lynching me right now is the last thing the village needs. But you know what? Storm it. I'm not going to keep arguing my innocence anymore. You'll all see I'm being honest when Joe puts my alignment in the next write-up, and can shake your heads at yourselves for not listening to me. Just please, Lopen, if you're actually working for the village, attack Alvron tonight. If he didn't lie to Bard then there will be a single Acolyte-turned-Practitioner left, and I reckon it's Aonar. If it's not him, ya'll should still have a few more turns before they can finish it. I just hope that there's nothing else we need to worry about, like more Jeskeri than Alv said, or another eliminator to clean up.
  10. He told me the same thing too, at first. Since he could win with any team, he decided to contact Alv to find out how close they were to winning. Alv said they only began with three players (Kipper the Practitioner and 2 Acolytes), but would not say who his last teammate was. He also claimed the Acolytes have the power to redirect actions (that's how they got Jaime and Wilson to target me when the Practitioner attacked me). He also told Bard that they attempted to redirect both yours and Burnt's kill at some point in the game, and that Joe pointed out that any failed redirects are due to their target being Neutral or Neutral-Evil. Considering how hard you've been trying to kill me, Lopen, I highly suspect that you're Neutral-Evil right now. I'd probably try to get you lynched too, considering you have a kill and want to use it on me, but I have no ground to stand on regarding that until Alv is proven to be the Practitioner. I can't say for sure if any of what Alv said to him was true, but I don't understand why Bard would lie about it. @The Young Bard, can you please confirm everything I've said here is exactly what you told me? I understand people's hesitance, but my intent is not ill, I promise you. Orlok, I didn't think about this at first, but if I was Jeskeri, why would I tell you about the second Legionnaire and insist you self protect yourself every night from then on? If I knew about the Practitioner ahead of time, I would have surely tried to convince you to arrest me on N3 as well, so that I could get all of the village protection killed. If you don't want to trust me, trust Bard, at least. I'm not lying, but if I was, everyone would find out as soon as this turn is over. Rae would refuse to protect me and you'd be free to kill me, Lopen. I can't argue my innocence in the situation with Kipper. I was duped. I considered the possibility of the lie (which is why I made the plan to scan him in the first place), but was not willing to take that risk considering all of our losses up to that point. In a situation like that, I really wanted to be safe rather than sorry. Even if I didn't get involved, it wouldn't have mattered much, anyway, as SD was already in the lead. I also thought it'd be nice to help Stink win, too, which is frustrating since he's now voted on me. Please people, be smart. Before I was attacked by the Jeskeri Practitioner, everyone trusted I was village. I've been honestly working in our best interest this entire time, and the only reason I'm being voted on at this point is because Lopen keeps insisting I'm evil when I'm not. Please do not do the Jeskeri's work for them. They will probably attack me tonight anyway, to prevent me from getting any more scans in. I want to scan Aonar like I originally intended, as he was the first player to mention them maybe having a redirection ability, which now that I've heard it come from Alv as well, I'm thinking was not a coincidence. EDIT: Also, Rae, there's a few "holes" because I didn't have all of the information. I only said what Kip told me, because it made no sense for me to keep it a secret. EDIT2: And Orlok. Alv claimed Neutral that scans as an Eliminator. He openly admitted to not being a Villager to multiple people.
  11. And another Citizen Bodyguard has died =\ So since the original Practitioner is dead now, that means an Acolyte has taken his role. I already brought this up last turn, but I'll bring it up again since it's pretty relevant. I'm guessing that there are multiple acolytes because of the following quote: The only role that has several alive right now (according to write-up evidence and claims) is "Pirate". Both Alvron and Conquestor were proven to have an extra life from the attacks on them N2, and Sart has openly claimed it in thread. Of the three, I think I trust Sart the most. I can tell his recent posts have nothing but good intent in them. I have mixed feelings about Alv (he's the one claiming a Neutral role that can only win if he "see's the Cultists die" and that if he gets scanned by a Dula the result will lie and say he is evil). I have no PM with Conq and he's been borderline inactive this game, so I don't really have a read on him at all, which might be the intent behind his lurking. I'm not sure which one I want to vote for, if I'm honest. If Alv is telling the truth then he might as well be a villager considering his win con, and I'd like to help him achieve it like I did for Stink, but since we already have evidence of one Jeskeri (Kipper) lying about being Neutral, it's very possible that Alv is doing the same thing to discourage villagers / Dulas from interacting with him. Eh, Conq. @Conquestor, I know I'm not really giving you much to defend here (I'll probably go back and analyze your posts at some point, unless @Sart wants to do it), but do you have anything to say that might convince me you're a Citizen? And if you're not Jeskeri, do you have any ideas who might be? Also, I'll bring this up tonight, but obviously no one should use their power, except maybe Lopen. If no one acts, there's no way the Jeskeri can kill more than one person. @The Only Joe, if the Practitioner attacks the Bodyguard and the Bodyguard protects themselves, does the Bodyguard get attacked twice and thus die anyway?
  12. Man Aman... that's a really original title you've got there. [Insert Bard's RP + Head/Shoulders Final Scene Here] The Young Bard was ganged up on! He had a Dragonair. The Only Joe succumbed to The Young Bard's Rage! He had a Squirtle. Bugsy6912 succumbed to The Young Bard's Rage! He had a Kadabra. STINK was executed! He had a Mewtwo. No one wins! The Butterfree was only really made to troll Alvron, since he was lynched that turn anyway, though I totally would have let him have it if he got his neck out of the noose, and would have evolved Ecth's Metapod as well, if he ever met the right conditions. Oh, and I'm totally planning on making a more complex Pokemon elimination game for the future, if anyone would be interested in helping me GM it.
  13. So I just got off work, and am about to go straight to a party, so I won't be able to post up the next thread tonight. The way I see it, there's two options for ya'll: the turn can end at it's normal time (I will count nothing changed after the countdown timer ends) or turn can be extended to 1200 EST tomorrow (an additional 16 hours to decide what ya'll are going to do). Post in this thread which you'd prefer. If ya'll choose the first option, I'll get everything figured out and posted first thing in the morning. If ya'll choose the second, you already know when to expect it.
  14. ">.>" is about the only comment I can make right now. Ah, yeah, my bad. It should have been pretty obvious I meant claimed since I talked a lot about confirming that what people are saying is true after anyway, do you plan on attacking me again? If so, @Arraenae, would it be too much to ask for you to protect me for one more turn? When N6 roles around I'm going to ask that no one target to protect me. It'll likely be better that I die at that point if the Jeskeri think I'm a higher priority target (I imagine I will be, since they don't want to get scanned), and hopefully I can confirm another villager besides Lopen then.
  15. So you did kill my sister, then. Just saying, but I knew you were lying when you said you didn't have any power. Can you tell me why you chose to attack El? Or rather, was it your idea, or did someone ask you too? That being said... I am pretty glad I helped you. Wondering if you were truly Neutral or Neutral-Evil was a large concern of mine. What ability did you get tonight, by the way? Theoretically you should be fine if we make sure Kipper is protected every third night. Of course, the problem with this is that the Practitioner can just attack him and kill whoever is protecting him. Considering that's the only kill they should have access to (unless Stink is working for them, in which case we'd know immediately), it shouldn't be too much of an issue. We really don't have many suspects left. I've got the order in to scan Kipper now. If it confirms that he's not an eliminator, then we can decide tomorrow what to do with him. Unless someone else has talked to him about it, all I know is who he marked on the first two turns. One of those is dead, the other alive (and very likely village). He'll also be able to mark someone else tonight, and I can't imagine it's protectable by anything but the Legionnaire (so Orlok should be safe). There could be anywhere between 2 and 4 players who die with him at this point (Len and whoever he marks tonight, at a minimum). We know for a fact that Practitioner is a unique role. Acolyte, however, might just be the evil flavor name for a village role, so it could be pretty much anything except ChayShan. I currently know everyone's roles right now. Aside from Kipper and Stink, there's three more players claiming Neutral. One of those I trust absolutely... I won't say anymore than that; the other two, I don't feel similarly about. One has claimed he's just an ordinary survivor, except that if he gets scanned, he'll come back as an eliminator. It's not unheard of it mafia games (google "Miller + mafiascum" if you want an example), but I don't know if I buy it. The second has claimed a Neutral role that allows them to scan other people's roles. The catch is, if he scans a role that hasn't been revealed in a write up yet, it will come back unknown. If this player is telling the truth, we could use him to check if someone else we think is suspicious is the Practitioner / not what they say they are. I'm thinking about revealing in thread the identity of the "Miller" and having the role-scanner give him a look. If he's telling the truth, the role-scanner would receive the "unknown" notification, and we can leave him to fulfill his win condition like we did for Stink (apparently he can only win if the Cultists all die, so that might be good to know as he's guaranteed to be working in the village's interests). If he's lying and he's actually the Practitioner (or the Acolyte? @Neutral Role Scanner, can you ask Joe in your PM if Acolyte counts as revealed or not?), he will get told that and we can lynch said player tomorrow. With me also scanning Kipper to find out if he's actually just an eliminator lying about his role to discourage people from killing him, we have the potential to figure out two cultists in one night and thus can put a tie on them tomorrow. If we're lucky, one will be the Practitioner and the other the Acolyte, so we won't have to worry about any more kills that night from them unless there's multiple Acolytes, in which case we should be looking at players who share the same role. Right now, I think the only role that has multiples left is the "pirates." Considering there were 4 non-elim kill roles in this game, that makes a lot of sense for the Acolyte, in my opinion. It would allow the Acolytes to survive long enough that they still have a chance to pick up Practitioner (I imagine they'd lose the extra life after ascending rank, as otherwise that might be OP). If that's the case, at least two of Alvron, Conq and Sart could actually be Acolytes claiming Pirate.
  16. If anyone wants to point fingers at me for going quiet, no, it's not because I'm a Cultist. It's because I was certain Lopen was a Cultist and that was proven wrong to me, and no matter what I say or do he's still going to try to kill me, so I ultimately don't see the point in trying anymore. To answer your question, Sart, Kipper's claimed Hrovell Alchemist to a few players now, including me. I asked him about it, and it's not exactly a Jester, but is supposedly a Neutral-Evil kill role, who's kills only activate with his death. I've been hesitant to talk about it because if he's telling the truth, multiple players are likely going to die (he told me he tagged Len N1 and Wilson N2, but hasn't said who he's poisoned N3 or N4, yet), and that eliminators knowing that might make him a sweet target for them to kill multiple players at once. Assuming that the other players he's used his power on so far are villagers and still alive, I feel lynching him right now would be a mistake, at least until we kill a Jeskeri for sure. I am willing to scan him tonight to call his bluff though (if he's lying about being Neutral-Evil, it'll tell me he's an Eliminator, in which case we can lynch him tomorrow for sure). That's one half of the reason I'm not going to vote for him. The other half is that I made a promise to Stink to help him kill SD if he helped save my life last cycle. From what I understand, Stink is a Neutral role that needs all Nobles to be dead in order to win. Now, my theory is that SD is a Jeskeri Noble, because if a player had a win condition tied to killing all of a specific role and at least one of them wasn't on team evil, I feel like that'd be unbalanced against the village. That and I haven't interacted with SD at all in a meaningful way, and am not very appreciative of lurkers. Supposedly, once all of the Nobles are killed, Joe will reveal Stink's role to the thread just like he did with the Jeskeri Practitioner, and that besides fulfilling half of his win condition (the other half being to survive until the end), Stink will gain a power up of some kind.
