  1. Hah, dang. Was worth a shot. I bet she'll find it amusing that her behavior means I can't be cleared so easily. Guess I'll need to do it the old fashioned way
  2. Alright. I've looked over some of Drought's posts and see where you're coming from. It feels kind of eh to use the WoT thing against him, but if he claimed in doc he was an elim that's not really anyone's fault but his own. @Droughtbringer, do you have anything to say about this? Well I'm not evil, and personally I'd rather not lynch Mark for his role alone because wow is that a slippery slope. @Mark IV, want to do some analysis on me, maybe, and I'll do some on you? Would probably help the village get a read on us both, and if you're not an elim it would be nice not wasting time lynching you. Ah okay, thanks for clarifying that. Don't suppose my lack of knowledge about the eliminator's capabilities is enough to clear me, is it? xD
  3. I know I'm not one to talk, but the turn is about halfway over (if my math is right) and there's only one vote. I'm not really sure about Drought, @Furamirionind, can you explain to me why you're voting for him? Unless it's literally just because you want analysis from him, in which case, you should probably be voting for me, too to preempt that, though, I'm going to look over what little notes I've taken of the game so far and recontextualize my original reads with what's happened since. EDIT: OH! OH OH OH! I HAVE A LEAD! There were a total of 5 Warriors of Fal Dara in the beginning. With the deaths of Snip, Kidpen and Bard, it's now just two! The other one is Mark, who's claimed in thread already. I had completely forgotten about the doc, if I'm honest, and neglected it the last couple turns, but I just checked it and found him asking if I'm evil. I'm not, so I figured I should bring this info out here to see what people think. Is it likely there's an elim among the Fal Dara Warriors? If so, then it's most definitely him. EDIT2: Ah, I just read Fura's last post of the previous turn. So if I understand it correctly, Drought sorta weakly defended BR from Bard and he was the last person to vote for BR? Not exactly strong reasoning if I'm honest, but I intend to look over all his posts and see if I can glean anything else. IIRC, I was a bit suspicious of Mark for reasons in the beginning already, so I'll look over his stuff too. HH is basically cleared since I don't think the elims could arrange a WGG in this game, CadCom, Fura and Karn all look good because of their votes on BR (and in the case of the last two I've been reading them as village consistently, anyway), and Rath looks village as well due to BR voting on him earlier. Of Steel, randuir, Stink!Joe, Mr Doctor and Sart... I'm honestly not sure. My gut didn't like most of them in the beginning, minus Stink!Joe and Sart because I can't remember a thing they've said or done.
  4. Yeah sorry about that. Yesterday was a busy day for me and honestly I've been having some trouble getting back into these games. I keep thinking I'll be able to sit down and put in some real work into this but life isn't keen on letting that happen. I have my last final on Monday though and am flying home the next day, so hopefully things will be easier after that. Honestly I would probably be relieved if the elims killed me tonight, though. EDIT: On that note, good job getting one of the Forsaken everyone. I probably wouldn't have voted for BR, to be honest
  5. Are we going to be notified when a conversion occurs? Because if so...
  6. I hadn't realized it until this turn but given the fact that 4 out of 7 votes were negated on Meta and 1 of 2 negated on Furam, making the lynch 3 to 1 instead of 7 to 2, wariness of vote manipulation isn't that ridiculous. I'm not sure if that makes me more or less suspicious of this bandwagon, though. Like, for one, the elims only have one vote negation, right? That means the rest were either due to the 20% chance of a failing vote due to defense, or 20% due to sabotage. Is there any way we can calculate the change in the Ring's health to determine if someone had sabotaged it? Because if not, that means *all* of, or *all* but one, was because those players were defending. EDIT: Thinking on that further, I find it interesting that the people who voted on literally anyone else (Young Bard, Steeldancer, Mark and Furam) didn't get their votes negated. Have any of them yet? Because that could be worth noting.
  7. Well it's night, so Thing is, Drought makes the most sense if you're evil, too. Votes at that time were 2 You, 2 Meta, 1 BR, 1 Mr Doc. Possible he could have wanted to prevent someone from adding a second vote to BR or Mr (I.E. pushing us towards "it's either Fura or Meta" which actually makes a lot of sense if we assume you're village). The same logic can be applied for Cad, Karn and Kid, except with the additional suspect of randuir since Mark had just added a vote there shortly after Drought's. In short, If Drought is evil, then Furam, Mr Doctor or Brightness could be evil. If Cadmium, Karnatheon or Kidpen are evil, then Furam, randuir, Mr Doctor or Brightness could be evil. I, like you, have a village read of Karn, and I obviously have a village read of you as well. I also was suspicious of Doctor during my first read through, so when I get around to building a case against him (probably today) I'll see whether my gut reactions had legitimate merit. I believe I was apprehensive of randuir as well. The rest are all blank slates to me, though.
  8. Well ain't that a bandwagon if I've ever seen one. Sorry that I was the one that kicked it off, Meta. When I voted as the second player I hadn't anticipated 5 more people piling on, which feels especially bad since I suspected you were trying to protect a teammate. Now I'm wondering if people were using you that same way. Droughtbringer tipped the favor from 2 - 2 between Furam and Meta in Meta's direction, and from there it seems Cadmium, Karnatheon and Kidpen all joined Drought in quick succession, with Mr Doctor solidifying things shortly before turnover. Otherwise, randuir was the only other player to get a new vote, while BR and Mr Doctor were the only ones to have a single, old one. While no one seems to have been explicitly saved by the bandwagon, it's still possible an eliminator added their vote to Meta near the middle to steer things away from a teammate. While I can't say randuir or Mr Doctor are completely innocent, I'd bet there's at least one elim among Drought, Cadmium, Karnatheon and Kingpin. Otherwise the village is doing a really good job of devouring itself.
  9. I'm in the process of catching up and preparing a post. I think lynching Furam is a very bad call, going to try providing an alternative or two in a bit. EDIT: (1) Mr Doctor: Furamirionind, (2) Furarmirionind: Ookla of the East, Ookla the Cited, (1) Rathmaskal: Ookla the Positive, (2) Ookla the Cited: randuir, Amanuensis, (1) BrightnessRadiant: Ookla the Unprepared, For right now, I'm leaving a vote on MetaTerminal because I really don't like the vote on Furam and because Meta is a potential candidate for Padan Fain, given his levels of activity thus far. I'm also not a huge fan of how quickly he jumped on Furam, which makes me think he may be teammates with one of the other vote candidates at the time. I also would like to vote for Doctor but he's got a lot more posts with a lot more depth that will require deeper analysis than I can manage at 0031 in the morning, so if I'm on the right track about Meta, that might help me build that case. For similar reasons, I'm suspicious of Steelrunner's vote on Rathmaskal, and for a couple other reasons that I will address in my upcoming analysis post. @Mr Doctor, @Furamirionind, @Ookla of the East, @Ookla the Cited, @Rathmaskal, @randuir, @Ookla the Positive
  10. Hard locking Alvron as village for the rest of the game.
  11. I actually didn't realize the elim's had a vote negation. I vaguely remember some other factors when I went through the events of D2, but I'd need to look again to gather 'em up. I will admit seeing his vote was negated was the main reason I jumped to fairly-confident. EDIT: Also didn't realize they could sabotage either, lol. I just read this again and realized you weren't referring to the same thing as Karn and Hemalurgic said.
  12. Yeah, I'm going to add Phoenix to this list, with a potential ! for being Padan Fain. One of the primary reasons I believe Rathmaskal is village is because his vote was clearly negated. Claiming to have your vote negated when you have no proof to back it up, on the other hand, seems more like something an eliminator would do for cred. Especially considering he's only posted once. If you're not invested in the game enough to post, why would you be invested enough to defend? I know I myself have completely forgot each Day so far. EDIT: Good timing. You can find one reason above (EDIT2: Which is, admittedly, probably the biggest).
  13. Okay okay okay, wait. Your vote was cancelled, not just once, but twice, when you haven't even voted yet and have one other post. Hmm. So, are you implying that you've defended both D1 and D2 and were unlucky enough to get that 20% twice?
  14. Hey everyone. I'm officially caught up on the thread and have a few thoughts, but it's 9:20 P.M. for me now and one of my hardest classes' final is tomorrow, so I'm mostly going to be studying the material until I go to sleep. In the interest of fulfilling my personal goal of uncovering and killing Padan Fain, I'm going to follow Karnatheon's logic that he's one of the inactive / low-active / unfamiliar-with-rules players, and see if anything comes up (which I find hilariously ironic since I belong to all three of those categories). I actually have a few solid suspicions on a handful of players, and feel fairly-confident saying that Karnatheon, Rathmaskal and Furamirionind are all village. If I happen to die tonight, I ask for people look into Steeldancer, Mr Doctor, Mark IV, Brightness Radiant and randuir most thoroughly. As of right now, they're my top 5 suspects based on voting patterns, content of posts, and player interactions alone. Come tomorrow, I'll make sure to give brief summaries as to why, if not entire cases for whoever I determine to be my number 1 and 2. If anyone has a not-too-time-consuming question for me tonight, go ahead and ping me. I'll try to check the site every now and then before bed just in case.
  15. RE: Furam Sorry guys, I didn't end up having enough time last night (or this morning) to really delve into this game. I attempted to write a post yesterday but lost it, apparently, and since then and now there's about two dozen plus posts that probably render what I was going to say useless, anyway. I'm going to do my best to be involved in the thread tomorrow, but I have a lot I need to take care of (for school and my personal writing project), so for today this is probably all I can manage.
  16. I'm sad I didn't make it into that one but no worries! I've been very busy lately (and by lately, I mean the last year), so I get it. Either way, I'm glad you're able to communicate with us all again. You've been missed! Hah, it's okay. Kind of my fault for being so off the radar. I'll try to do better.
  17. Mailliw is back??? ... MAILLIW IS BACK?!?!? ... Why aren't more people screaming? Am I just the only one who didn't know? Either way, now there's no way I don't sign up for this game. As I use this post to welcome Mailliw back into the community, let's all welcome Yesika Renaud, the estranged daughter of Lord Xemalun Renaud, into the game. How ya been, Maill?
  18. Admittedly I'm not a fan of the Wheel of Time. I've tried getting through Jordan's books so I could reach that sweet, sweet Sanderson, only for my motivation to peter out somewhere in the middle (The Path of Daggers, if my memory serves me right). That said, I enjoyed the last WoT game I played a lot, and I've been itching to get back to see how everyone is doing, old friends and new players alike. Though the rules appear to be very different, I'm confident Fifth has designed something great and will run it well. Thus without me reading into this game too deeply, I have decided to throw my name into the ring. Or, rather, Nikel Fain's. Just before the break of dawn a man named Nik breached the southern edge of the woods that circled Fal Dara. His was a long journey - one that transcended two decades and a dozen countries’ borders - that until now was more akin to a wild goose chase than a quest for vengeance. Nonetheless he could sense that, one way or another, it would soon come to an end, and a horrific one at that. He knew it by the eager ache that lingered in the marrow of his bones; by the strange intermingling of hatred, fear and relief that flared with every thundering beat of his heart. Corenne al’Daishar, he thought in the Old Tongue, remembering the last words of the Darkfriend he ran down and tortured near Drell's Crossing. In another life perhaps Nik would have regretted the atrocities he was forced to inflict upon that cursed Kandori, but in this particular life, his heart was long hollowed out by his cold, undying anger. Even thinking of the Darkfriend as the Kandori rather than the name he sobbed while Nik flayed each and every inch of his flesh - along with the names of the Darkfriend's wife and seven kids for whom he swore allegiance to Shai’tan to protect - had no ill effect on his spirit. Just as he no longer cared to count how many men and women (and sometimes even children) he had to kill to get to this moment, he no longer bothered to remember, let alone learn, the names of his victims. Only one name mattered to him. Would ever matter to him. In the distance Nik made out the faint outline of Fal Dara's Keep, no more than a few hour’s worth of walking. There he would find the man who his hands yearned to choke the life from. Who his nails craved to rip and tear into, whose blood his knives thirsted for, whose limbs they lusted to dismember, whose face they dreamed to disfigure. According to the Kandori he would not be alone, either. An entire cell of Darkfriends would be gathering there, to fulfill some nefarious plot for the Dark One. If it came down to it Nik would not hesitate to decimate the lot of them, to burn down the entire city if it was required, in order to get to that man. “Padan Fain,” Nik hissed the name, venom dripping off every syllable, as if speaking it aloud might allow his father to hear it despite the league's between them. “Can you feel it, father!?” he yelled as loud as his rage, and lungs, would allow, though no one was around to hear it. “A bloody battle is brewing, and I promise you- no, promise Sightblinder Himself, that you will not escape it unscathed...” Somewhat cheated since I just edited old RP from LG22, but I think it's still relevant. Nikel Fain is here to find and kill his father. Whoever ends up being Padan, prepare yourself. I'm coming for you.
  19. Hi guys. I'm dealing with a lot of crazy, unexpected things IRL that have made it essentially impossible for me to participate so far this game and I'm afraid that it's not going to change any time soon :(. As such, consider this my formal request for a pitch hitter. @Straw I have no idea who to vote for or what's even happened so far, and don't really feel comfortable participating in a lynch regardless since this is a faction game, so No one.
  20. The only faction game I've really played left a sour taste in my mouth so I tend to avoid them, but if you need players then count me in. Call me Jeda Renaud.
  21. As much as I appreciate the sentiment and how much I enjoyed it the first time / would love a round 2, it's best that we don't send people twice
  22. Personally I'm going to nominate Orlok. He was my back-up last year but I never really gave him a chance to step in, since I was having so much fun myself
  23. Anyone on our Discord may have seen this post coming, but earlier today I got a message from Thingyman asking for a little help inviting our forum for this years Mafia Championship. He'd do it himself but he's got a lot of other communities to reach out to, so things are just easier this way. He did provide me with a heap of information, however, which for convenience sake I'll go ahead and post into here now! Due to the fact I was last years representative, I can say with confidence that this is a huge commitment. I personally would love to see us participate again and root for whoever we choose to play this year, in order to know what it's like on the other side of things. Also I have a lot of pride in our community and am confident enough that we could make it to finals this year! But it's not my decision alone. We need to discuss this as a whole - do we want in? - and if so, we need to act fast. May 1st is the deadline to have representatives and that's only two weeks away!
