Quick Fix Game 19: Noble Intentions
TheMightyLopen replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Did you mean Nyali? Nyali is the one who said Ecth was trying to start a lynch train. If the Thug is a quiet, unlikely target for the elim kill, they could protect more likely targets. Heck, I'd love some protection! Joe, can Rioters redirect the elim kill? Oh, one thing I forgot to say in my previous suggestions. I think it could be a good idea if Soothers use their abilities all the time so they can be scanned. Joe, if multiple Soothers target the same player, does it count as if they all Burned metal? If yes, then we could designate a vote to get Soothed. Doctor, I know you didn't really say you trusted me or anything. I just got kind of a bad read from your first post and you were, in a way, defending me. I agree that we need to be careful with our votes, but at this stage, I highly doubt the elims are going to do much voting shenanigans. Past Cycle 3 or 4, I think we need to be extra wary.- 463 replies

Quick Fix Game 19: Noble Intentions
TheMightyLopen replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
There's still a lot of people who haven't posted though. It might be a good idea for someone to ping those who have been on but haven't posted, if there's any players like that. Maybe even put a vote on them, if you don't want to put your vote anywhere else. Poke votes can actually be pretty powerful, especially Day 1 when lynches are often very random. I was hoping you'd elaborate a bit more so I could take some notes , but okay. I think Joe came up with a good solution for Smokers that wasn't in AG2. Since Seekers can only scan those who are Burning metals, that means it doesn't really matter if Smokers use their ability or not. Though like I said earlier, probably best if they only Smoke themselves at this point in the game, when it's less likely that vote manipulation will really make much difference and we need to get scans. I'd like to note that there have been a lot of players defending me. It's making me nervous. I suspect at least one of them is an eliminator. Right now I'm looking at Doctor, Jondesu, and Elbereth.- 463 replies

Taking some posts of mine from one game doesn't really prove anything about my alignment in this game. I often post advice on roles and mechanics, regardless of whether I'm an elim, villager, or neutral. @Jondesu, @Daniyah do you have any opinions/thoughts on the game now?- 463 replies

Quick Fix Game 19: Noble Intentions
TheMightyLopen replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Sorry, was getting some clarifications from the GM about some stuff and organizing my thoughts. I don't have much to say yet, but I have been thinking about some different ideas on how to use certain abilities. Rioters - So, seeing as Seekers can only scan players who are Burning Metals, I think it's probably a good idea to use your ability each Cycle(that goes for all abilities) so we minimize the chance of a failed Seeking. It's a little dangerous to use Rioting, since you could move a kill or a protection, or even a Seeking, but I was thinking it might be a good idea to target a quiet, yet active player with any redirects you do, so it's less likely to do too much damage if you accidentally kill someone or move a scan(because it would be sad to scan an inactive who dies, which is why I didn't suggest targeting one of them). Thoughts on this? Oh, and Rioters count as Burning even if they hit someone not using an Action. Seekers - As far as I know, there's no way to fake a scan, so don't claim to anyone until you've scanned them. Tineye - I was thinking it's probably a better idea to target other players rather than yourself, given there's not a ton of info you can learn by who targets you. Smokers - Joe told me it is possible to just Smoke yourself. So, it's probably a good idea to just do that for now. Thug - Protect yourself to begin with? Unless you really don't think you're gonna be killed, in which case it could be a good idea to protect someone who you think is more of a target. Lynches - Tied lynches result in both players death, or, if there's multiple players with 2 votes on them, all of them dying. This is a dangerous mechanic. We need to be very aware of this, especially late game. I'll get a vote down later, I've gotta go for now.- 463 replies

Mid-Range Game 17: Hic Sunt Leones
TheMightyLopen replied to Amanuensis's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yeah, I do feel a tiny bit bad about that. But me and Sheep had to survive to win and Jondesu was the only one of us who would have been able to kill Stick, and because we had to outnumber the village plus Aman, we'd have had to kill Stick somehow. So really, there wasn't much I could do. And I wasn't sure if you were really telling the truth about your role. Loved the write-up Aman! Thanks for running the game, both you and Stink. And for introducing me to a cool new series.- 589 replies

TheMightyLopen replied to Amanuensis's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Oh yeah, I was thinking about the SK. My thoughts are that if we kill the last Forsworn, the game should end. Because the Faithful will have reached their win con I believe, and games usually end once a faction completes their goal. So I'm not sure we need to worry about the SK, if that's even what they really are. On that note, @Doxis, have you posted yet? It'd be a shame if jefry really is the last Forsworn and the game ended before you were able to post once in your first game!- 589 replies

Mid-Range Game 17: Hic Sunt Leones
TheMightyLopen replied to Amanuensis's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Okay, so, now that Burnt is dead, it's reveal time. I'm not Forsworn, but I'm not a Faithful either. My name is Eon au Cylus, and I'm a Neutral lancer. My goal is to have all Bellonas die and for me to survive. I believe Burnt was the last Bellona, so at this point, all I need to do is survive. My role is powerless, basically a Thorne, so from here on out, I'm staying out of things. I figure there's likely only one Forsworn left anyways, so it's not like I'm needed. Maybe I'll get around to doing that RP I said I might do this game. >> Oh, and I very much enjoyed that write-up! I thought it was a pretty epic Duel.- 589 replies

Can't say I'm surprised by this. It's a waste of a Cycle though, however this Duel turns out. There's not really much I can say in my defense that I haven't already said. Len revelaed to me and El because we weren't Forsworn, because he was betraying the Forsworn. That's not something you'd tell a Forsworn member. Doesn't cover the possibility of me being Rath, but really, I think I've made it quite clear how much I dislike being an eliminator. I'm not Rath, but I don't think there's any way for me to prove that, unless one of the inactives is a Lunes. I told you the ways to kill Mage, and then when I was too tired to post them, I asked you to explain the situation in thread. And now Mage Cheers for me. Yippee. Doxis, an evil just Cheered for me with an hour left in the Cycle. Seems like a good way to get me lynched if you ask me.- 589 replies

Mid-Range Game 17: Hic Sunt Leones
TheMightyLopen replied to Amanuensis's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yeah, Len told me he was gonna switch once the last Forsworn besides him was dead. Anyways, this is the reason that El and Doc trusted me and sorta why I've been quieter. Len told us that his team was gonna bus Bugsy and he also told us about Wonko, so there wasn't a lot for me to talk about or figure out during those early Cycles and then I kind of just settled into not posting much. My bad. Anyways, Burnt, my hunch I was talking about was that Len told Doc that Magestar was a Forsworn Arcos and that's why Doc was so sure about him being that. It's the best explanation that I can think of. So, I'm quite suspicious of Mage at this point, although I can't personally do anything about him. As for who we should lynch, I'm really not sure. Given that Len was a Forsworn Rath, I suspect Aman put at least one Rath on the village side of things. That, combined with the fact that I'd guess he started them with 5 players means I think it's possible that there's 2 more Forsworn other than Mage. I'm kinda concerned that Doxis is one, but, I don't really think it would be very nice to lynch her as soon as she starts playing. So, out of the players left, there's Bard, Sheep, Stick, Doxis, Mage, jefry, Burnt, Jondesu, and Assassin. I'm pretty sure Burnt is Faithful and Mage is an Arcos, so there's no lynching them. I'm not particularly trustworthy of Bard, but there was the thing where Wonko used all his Merit to make sure Bard didn't get any of it. Sheep, hm, I could see being Forsworn. I've actually not been able to read him very well in the past. Stick, eh, was suspicious of her earlier, but not really sure at this point. Jefry, too inactive to tell. Jondesu, I've had a village read on him for the entire game. Assassin, again, too inactive. And Doxis, just joined, so, would rather not lynch. I'm gonna look over the players I don't have good reads on tomorrow and will likely start a Duel if I don't see one I want to Cheer. Right now, I'm going to sleep. >.<- 589 replies

Numbered to respond easier. 1. Ah, fair enough. 2. You didn't straight up say you'd lynch Burnt, but you put me and her forward for the lynch as if we were the best 2 options. Though, now that I look over that post again, I guess I could see how you were just talking about me, Mage, and Burnt as a separate group from everyone else, so I guess that makes sense to me now. 3. I didn't say I'd cleared myself. I said I feel like I've done more to clear myself than most other players. But again, my response was a reaction to you putting me, Mage, and Burnt in a group and acting as if we had to lynch someone out of that group, which I thought didn't make sense, and still don't really. Anyways, I questioned the trustworthiness of the Julii plan and I was right in that the Julii had not been cleared in any way, so any info we'd gain from it would only be useful after the Julii's death. Both El and Doc voiced fairly strong trust of me, which they put in their whisperGem's. I know confirmed good doesn't mean confirmed right(if anyone didn't know that before this game, they probably do now ), but I still think it should count for something. I was honest about the situation with Doc and Mage. I don't know if Mage is Forsworn, but I laid out the facts as best I could. I guess that's not a lot of evidence for my alignment, but like I said, I feel like it's more than the majority of other players. I don't see how the Mage/Burnt/Lopen stuff is a "mess." Doc told me some stuff and Burnt some of the same stuff and we've relayed that to the thread in a way that I thought was easy to understand. 4. There aren't any roles that scan alignment though. There's Lunes, but it only scans the House of a player, not their alignment. And I know Aman didn't say if there were any secret roles, but I do know that Aman isn't a fan of alignment scanners, so I really doubt there is one. Well, I for one definitely don't think we should lynch me. But you raise a good point. Up until last Cycle, we had our lynches happen pretty easily. Now we don't really have a great direction to go. If we can't come up with a great lynch target, it might be a good idea to target an inactive/lurker. I haven't been keeping up too great with who's lurking, but I'll look over everyone's online times and when the last time they posted so we can have a better picture of everyone's activity. I'll try to get that up pretty quickly. Even though I don't think it's a good idea to try and lynch Mage, I'm curious to hear your opinion on why you think Mage is an elim.- 589 replies

TheMightyLopen replied to Amanuensis's topic in Sanderson Elimination
You don't really sound suspicious of Burnt, but then she's one of two people you'd lynch? That's...odd. I was distrusted by Rae? I distrusted Rae, but last I heard from her before she died she'd said she wasn't as suspicious of me anymore. I could have put anyone's name as the target. Right. How is that a strike against me? It'd only be a strike against me if I was lying, which I wasn't. So that point doesn't really make any sense. I'm not sure why you're suddenly attacking me like this. Soooooo, why are me and Burnt the only players to lynch? I believe there's still quite a few other players who really haven't done anything to prove themselves. In fact, I feel I've done more to clear myself than the majority of players. Granted, I have been quiet-ish, but for the most part, I haven't needed to talk as other people kept catching elims.- 589 replies

Mid-Range Game 17: Hic Sunt Leones
TheMightyLopen replied to Amanuensis's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I can confirm that Doc was very suspicious that Mage was a Forsworn Arcos and he told me he was going to attempt to kill him. He didn't tell me why he thought that about Mage either. My take on the situation is that Doc attacked Mage, but because Mage is an Arcos, Doc died instead. I'm not totally certain that's how Arcos' power works, but I think it is. Aman, is this correct? Whether that means Mage really is Forsworn or not, I can't say, because Doc gave absolutely no reasoning for why he suspected Mage. One other thing Doc did say was that if Mage was attacking someone, he'd be open to a kill. So, assuming Mage is what Doc thought he is, I think that implies that Mage didn't make a kill last Cycle. Burnt, I know you don't trust me and you don't have much reason to, but if me and Mage were colluding to kill you, I see no reason for him to say that about lynching you. I didn't end up PM'ing anyone about the situation I mentioned, because I have no idea what to do. Elbereth and Doc both trusted me quite a lot, and there is a very good reason for that. If I have to reveal why they trusted me, I will, but I'd prefer not to, as it's sensitive information. There's 4 ways that Doc told me about to kill an Arcos. 1. Double tap with ionBlades. Seems reaaally difficult to do, since ionBlades are tough to get. 2. Have the Forsworn Arcos attack a village Arcos, which will result in both of them dying. I think? 3. StunFist and ionBlade the Arcos, which should kill them. 4. Have the Forsworn Arcos attack someone who's protected by a Telemanus. That's everything that Doc told me about Mage I believe. I initially thought Arcos could just not be lynched, but apparently they're a lot tougher than that. >>- 589 replies

Mid-Range Game 17: Hic Sunt Leones
TheMightyLopen replied to Amanuensis's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Okay, so, I promised this post to a couple people, so here it is. Suspicions: Rae - I believe Elbereth was suspicious of Rae and attacked her for her Dueling Bugsy. Might sound a bit strange, but given the lynch on Bugsy was just so easy, it appears that the eliminators weren't terribly concerned with him dying, especially with the way he seemed to go down so easy as well. So what I think, and what I think Elbereth thought, was that Bugsy was in a bit of trouble, so the Forsworn decided to just bus him to gain trust since he was most likely a goner anyway. Plus, by initiating the Duel, Rae got a lot of his Merit and his ionBlade. So that's the basis of my suspicion on Rae. Stick - Looking back at the lynch on Bugsy, I found this comment that has made me lean Forsworn on Stick: "My thoughts on Elbereth are mostly villager..ish. By saying that Elbereth is one of Bugsy's most trusted, Bugsy might have been trying to provoke suspicions on Elbereth." This was pretty early in the game, with not a lot of evidence to say El was a villager and Bugsy wasn't really revealed evil, so it strikes me as her knowing more than she should at that point. Of course, she could have been just a right villager, but going with the thought that Bugsy was bussed, I'm leaning elim on her right now. Bard - I'm not very suspicious of Bard, but I thought the way he initiated the Duel on Wonko so early could imply that he knew he'd survive and he wanted to start the Duel himself so he could get the Merit/items from killing him. I thought of suggesting that we let Doc initiate the Duel everyone decides on from here on out, since I think he's by far the most cleared player around, but I kinda feel like that could take away from the fun of the game. I'd like to hear everyone's opinion though, since it could be useful. I know this is off the subject of Bard, but another thought I had was that even if we don't have Doc/super trusted player initiate all the Duels, we could at least ask whoever wins Duels to alert the thread or some people they trust about what they won from the Duel. That way we have some accountability from the winners of Duels. Trusts: Doc: Contacted by Wonko, and Bugsy revealed his plan in the thread. I don't see any reason for them to do all of that if Doc was Forsworn. I'm almost 100% certain that Doc is Faithful. Daniyah - Strong gut village read. I'd have to go over her posts again to give more detail, but I don't really have the time to do that. I guess I'd put Burnt under trusts as well. At first I was sort of suspicious of her, because Rae voted for her for the ionBlade thing and then removed it, and it seems to me that Rae votes on her teammates quite often when she's evil, but, lately I've become less suspicious of Burnt, and her posts/PM have me leaning more towards villager. I also don't like giving something that someone else has said or done who's alignment is unknown as reason to suspect a different player. So looking solely over all that Burnt has said(in PM's and thread), I'd lean village. I don't really have strong feelings for everyone else. Kind of "meh." Looking at my notes, I did jot down little circles next to Jondesu, Sheep, DA, and Assassin though. I think that was back on Cycle 2 though, and I can't remember what gave me that impression. Oh yeah, circles mean village and triangles mean elims in my notes. Don't ask me why, because I don't know.- 589 replies

Have I been less active? I think I've posted a few times with some helpful comments. I have yet to give any type of reads, sure, but a lot of the posts are RP which makes it really difficult to discern alingment. I've got a village read on El right now, and I'm leaning towards cheering for you to defeat Bugsy, but other than that, I haven't got any solid suspicions. I think I'll find someone to start a Duel with though. Maybe we could get a little more lynch discussion going. I actually think it could be a good idea if everyone started a Duel. The more stuff that's happening, the more chances elims will slip up somehow. Also, generally I make giant posts in later Cycles, when there is a lot more information or I'm trying to make some sort of plan. As it is, I haven't thought of any good plans and not much has really happened. So, maybe once things start to heat up, I'll make a giant post just for you.- 589 replies
