  1. Genghis Khan also had an unique episode with his wife https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genghis_Khan Jeez: people were falling off way before 60!
  2. I thought Ash was Shalash, the lightweaver herald. But, it’s interesting that 9 other orders get one PoV each from herald or KR across 10 books. But dustbringers don’t get one. So, something to look out for.
  3. http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1133 http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1130 I think if you put the above 2 quotes together, we have a significant hint
  4. I understand that he is a main PoV in the back 5...guessing that even the main one for SA10.
  5. If this theory works, I think Navani might turn Dalinar into a lab rat strapping different fabrials to him
  6. I like the theory as well. New people will have to take up the oathpact. In WoR, Amaram specifically asks Taln about the oaths and doesn’t even bother asking about the supposed shardblade cache. Don’t know if he’s after the KR oaths or Heraldic oaths, so that’s still up in the air. But definitely, something is up on the Herald front and there might be some change in the line up maybe.
  7. Well, the theory doesn’t work. + Why crash in with Everstorm + Voidbinding and surgebinding don’t mix, so how could he have enhanced Shallan’s power I can believe though that the stormfather is broken in some way. Syl mentions that Stormfather is trying to avoid the future at the end if WoR. Dalinar mentions the moodiness of when the Stormfather responds.
  8. Well, both Jasnah and Hoid now lead the poll! I really liked Ym as well but he died at the end of the chapter in WoR, so not coming back. The other characters I really want to see more of is Taln (or the man calling himself Taln). I wonder if we’ve seen all the major characters already and if new PoV (excl interludes) are yet to come.
  9. I have to say, despite it being Dalinar’s book, Shallan still stands out the most. Kaladin - yep, sort it out with Parshendi and go to Kohlinar- check. Dalinar - unite the world - check. Shallan’s a real unknown here. Her next truth can be about her childhood or about the personas she’s creating. She could be looking at the murders or chasing strange stuff in Urithiru. So much potential with her!
  10. Great theory. Do you have any idea on lifting up in the air by Dalinar? Bondsmiths have adhesion and tension. So, couldn’t work out if Dalinar used the honorblade power or something else?
  11. We didn't have a thread on how the book's writing is or how it comes across. With the preview chapters, there's a more minute review of the writing. Now, fairly, we all love Brandon and are waiting with anticipation for our weekly dosage and the eventual book. But, I think it's OK to discuss the writing itself. From my point of view, it's been good, but here is a summary of good and not so good Good Consistent new surprises and intrigue - murder mysteries, copycat murders. Seriously could have continued with a predictable turn on the Sadeas murder, but instead we now have this copycat murder intrigue. Introduction of new characters - May Aladar - who is she? Kaladin finally lessening his "I am a pain" act and realising he can't hold it against Roshone ALL THE TIME Pattern speak (no mating, wanting to marry Adolin) Frustrating Cliffhangers at the end of every chapter - it doesn't help we can't turn the page because it's only a 3 chapter release each week. I want the full book now. But cliffhangers fatigue is getting to me. Pacing - all that seems to be happening at times is just people jibbering about at times - That Adolin-Shallan chapter where they discussed food, fighting stances, etc. Overall, I get worried we'd get to the end of the book and they have not done much or end up with a cliffhanger. Some language - still miffed at "Just a sec" by Shallan. Really? Medieval times people didn't even have clocks or just timed by the hour with no minute hands, let alone seconds...
  12. I think @Toaster Retribution is on to something. Here is a quote:- This is from tWoK - Chapter 45: Shadesmar. So, really voidbinding becomes available to a lot of humans as do surgebinding.
  13. It’s not Shallan who is running herself down. It is Brandon, the author, who is hinting about this. Maybe you should do that re Kaladin. With him, it’s more “that’s crazy” rather than “I am crazy”. Most time people and Kaladin are commenting on his dark demeanour.
  14. Shallan is mad. Brandon provides foreshadowing in WoR. Here's another one
  15. IKR It’s crazy. Just too many secrets. Kal kiling Hellaran is one. Kal with Moash, Shallan telling about Ghostbloods, Renarin anything, Dalinar asking any pertinent questions from other radiants
  16. Adolin as normal. He has that Ellend Venture vibe to him that he wouldn’t normally have any powers. And BS doesn’t look like the type to re-use the Ellend transformation. I do think he might get turfed out. He foreshadows his own execution or exile earlier in WoR. So, I am sticking with that. Not sure if he survives the ten books. My reasoning has been that the Radiants need someone to protect as well. Elhokar, Navani and Adolin are the reps for normals in this X Men team. But whether Adolin is one of the survivors is hard to guess.
  17. Maybe see another 15 windrunners?
  18. Thaidakar and Restares - two main characters that are yet to make an appearance. Will be interesting to see if they come in first person soon.
  19. Why would Szeth name his book oathbringer? I thought it would have been truthless no more stonewalker or some such shin name.
  20. Mr. T 's target according to the diagram is "You must become king - of everything". I think becoming Radiant sort of takes away that option. Elhokar can become a Radiant and join an order, but his Radiant duties will then conflict with his kingly duties and so forth. Even Dalinar is going to end up in a UN kind of a role where he has to give up a kingdom to rule Urithiru and be the bondsmith. So, kind of a political maneuvre thing is how I see it as coming. Taravangian says "I'll be the world king supporting you Dalinar if you help me become that". So, Dalinar lets Taravangian be that so that his way of running the Radiants is cleared.
  21. Also, it feels quite deliberate to hide the author’s name to make it a grand reveal. Shallan went practically 2017 teeny bopper in her dialogue to ensure “Radiant” sounded formal. So, a very deliberate strategy meaning a grand reveal of some sort. So, I voted for Sunmaker but I am thinking the name has to be a shock, ruling out Sunmaker.
  22. Maybe they haven’t reached Shinovar yet. They were in still in Azish territories and will still need to travel more to reach Shinovar. I don’t see Szeth reaching Shinovar until book 4/5.
  23. One possible not discussed option is shshshsh
  24. I raised cusicesh earlier and apparently it is lesser spren than Stormfather and nightwatcher
