Well I wasn’t too far off with the chapter pattern (later I had corrected that Jasnah had no viewpoints in Part 1, so it was going to be Kal + 2 Shallan chapters). Rest - not so much. Next up 1 flashback + 1 present day Dalinar+ part Adolin + 1 Kal I think I’ve gotten a feel for the pacing of the Book 1 and it is like starting WoK again. Flashback might be Navani’s intro. Dalinar chapter is just more dialogue with Navani (honeymoon anyone?) + admin. Kal breaks bread with the parshmen in his chapter. Maybe he shares Rock’s recipes.

My view is that the heralds are not Heralds anymore. They are shadows of that and any man who takes up the oathpact will become the herald.

I am feeling a bit let down. Just a sec ..? Can Shallan pull her Airpods from her ears please? Feeling a bit rough with the wording. Chapter 13 - Shallan talks to herself and doesn’t put her clothes on when someone knocks at the door. It’s Adolin and they have some dinner talk with chaperone being Pattern. chapter 14 - Kaladin looks up and says, “hey strangers”! chapter 15 - Shallan does sword practice and drawing with Adolin around. Yay! Is it me or is it really stretching out the big reveal... At this rate end of book 1 is Kal starting to move towards Kohlinar or reach its gates. Shallan deciding she needs to go somewhere... maybe open her own room door. Dalinar doing flashbacks and still tearing his hair at spanreeds. Maybe say G’day to Mr T. Slowwww...

I am also looking forward to the Jasnah fight scene as alluded from the cover. It’s the first action cover in SA so I am looking forward to there being a fight between Jasnah and the Thunderclast. (Sort of like elsecalling Jasnah fighting a tree giant from LoTR).

That’s his idea to each series be independent but tie into a grand arch still. That’s how he explains it in Arcanum Unbounded. The forum does push up the worldhoppers into spotlight but I think it’s a matter of perspective. I read warbreaker after WoR and still didn’t make the Vasher connection or figure out how Hoid was important in Warbreaker. In the end, the worldhoppers are minor except for hoid and he will get his explanation in due course within SA.

This is a wishing thread. Plausible scenes you’d like to see in Oathbringer. The scene I really want to see is Shallan and pattern stumbling on the diagram in Taravangian’s room. A Sons of Honor and Ghostbloods clash Shin coming in on Urithiru chasing the Windrunner and seeing the Stoneward honorblade with Taravangian’s fake champion and getting spooked Jasnah elsecall/soulcast enhanced by Dalinar 2nd Bondsmith

Agree... constructing something like that wouldn't be possible very easily. As in the first post, the pyramids are shown to be tiny against this tower and Pyramids took 20+ years with a lot of slaves. Soulcasting holes makes so much sense. Each place got its own oathgate by elsecalling of places in full. PS I think soulcasting plus bondsmith helped make it happen.

Thanks... I wished a Jasnah chapter rather than expecting it. But I think it'll end up being 2 Shallan and one Kal chapter then. Thanks for checking.

I'd like to think of her as a brilliantly unlikable character brought on to help Shallan's story progress. Sort of like Tuvlakov for both Kal and Shallan.

This is slight earlier than most but we should start discussing what's coming up next. My theories are:- Next 3 chapter releases would include two Shallan chapters and either a Kal or maybe a Jasnah one. There is a pattern Mr. T might have secured an honorblade (switched from the man called Taln). But we might not see it till chapter 16 onwards. Shallan's target is the library containing secrets and she starts seeing some symbolism and also a hint of ghostbloods. Like the oathgate, there maybe other things that only live sprenblades can open. There might even be more Renarin-Shallan interactions as they both are quite secretive.

Would add another meaning to the term, "unite them"!
