  1. Rampant speculation, you say? Sazed was killed by Odium between HoA and AoL; his Splinters are all that are left, explaining why he rarely intervenes to stop crime, save lives, etc. Shadows of Self refers to the remaining shadows - or Splinters - of Harmony, the Faceless Immortals among their number for using fragments of Ruin's power. Ruin will eventually reform through the Pits of Eltania, and will fuse with one of the main characters to become the main antagonist in the science fiction trilogy. The South Pole of Scadrial has Allomancers as the lowest possible rank of slave. They are used to power machines, such as Coinshots operating a non-water-powered water wheel and Pewterarms to handle heavy machinery. Hemalurgists, on the other hand, are revered as leaders. Each Slavemaster uses two spikes from every type of Misting/Ferring under his control to ensure that he will always be stronger than they are if they turn on him. Their leaders are Hemalurgically full Mistborn and Feruchemists several times over.
  2. Never read Elantris, and sad to say, I ordered a copy two hours before I heard of this. Leatherbound Mistborn though... via Imgflip Meme Maker
  3. Children are auto-married to NPCs at the end of each generation, I think.
  4. I'll be cut off from the internet for a week, and am trying to conserve mobile data - I'll put my actions down now, and if I get my internet before the week is done, I will add some rp. Action 1 Who: Lady Mai Farrsolin What: Building a refinery When: Action 1 Where: Seran Countryside Why: For well-made metals to both sell and use in any forthcoming Allomantic Games; production doesn't start until the turn after the refinery is bought, if I recall correctly, too late to use in the Games. Action 2 Who: Lady Mai Farrsolin What: Hiring a skilled workforce to manage the refinery and bakery When: Action 2 Where: Seran Countryside Why: For the bakery, to increase profitability. For the refinery, to gain purer alloys for metals.
  5. Another suggestion - a black market for 'sentient bindings'. Allow me to put it this way. Someone with a specific skill set/attribute is kidnapped, then killed for a Binding. The result is that a certain object grants them that person's characteristics, whether it be memories, skills, physical strength, etc, a sort of Hemalurgic Feruchemy. The team would buy a Golem's Binding made by both a Titan and a Ven. The Ven gives a small stone the appearance of a Golem when it is pulled out, so as to fool magical safeguards, while the Titan gives the illusion physical form, allowing it to function as a normal Golem for a brief amount of time.
  6. And now I am curious... If you want people to ignore a post, delete it. But right now, I am willing to sit at Sadeas's feast and eat several platefuls the night he enslaves Rock if it means I find out what I was supposed to ignore.
  7. Welcome to the 17th Shard! Follow me if you want to live. Do not accept cookies Join ussssss... Join ussssss in Sanderson Elimination... I don't know what happens in the Reckoners RP, and at this point, I'm too scared to look. You now know everything you need to know to survive on the Shard. Once again, welcome to the 17th Shard!
  8. I might have a power cut for the next twenty four hours, throwing my actions out now. Who: Lady Mai What: Trying for an Heir When: Action 1 Why: You can never have enough children when you are Mistborn Names: Arlen, Beskha Who: Lady Mai What: Pardoning the rioters and riot leaders, promoting the riot leaders to her personal scribes, and assigning them positions in her council. When: Action 2 Why: So as to appease the skaa Who: Lady Mai What: Transferring a farm to House Zerrung When: Action 3 Why: For a stable long-term alliance EDIT: Also, is the Luthadel-Seran canal and/or road owned yet?
  9. There's that, and there's the hypocrisy. Dear Action Movie Hero No. 21950 You murdered thousands of henchmen who were only there because they didn't have any other jobs and were continually re-assured that they wouldn't be in danger. But you only carted their evil, maniacal psychopathic boss off to a cardboard prison for him to break out of during the sequel. We are pressing a lawsuit. Yours Truly, The families of Henchmen 124516 through to 741893
  10. This has probably been suggested before, but what the hell - anyone with above 25,000 should have the rank 'Lifeless.'
  11. You know the one thing I hate in today's gritty fantasy? Humans are the worst people in any given room. Whether they are cutting down sacred trees, burning down holy groves, being racist, being the most warmongering species on the planet... I am getting sick of it. Allow me to give a typical example from the Dragon Age games, which I otherwise love. Human: Get out of here, knife-ear! Poor Widdle Elf: So... hungry... Human: How about I test my blood magic by sacrificing this starving little knife-ear to summon demons, turn into a possessed abomination, and go on a rampage to kill hundreds more elves? I also cannot express how grateful I felt when I played The Witcher 2 earlier this month. I found an elf in the forest being attacked by a group of peasants, so naturally I made the assumption that the elf, by virtue of not being human, was in the right. I stepped in, killed half a village, at which point she led me into a trap and revealed that she had just robbed and murdered the other half of the village. I felt just so glad that humans were not the most evil things in the room... I am getting sick and tired of racism towards humans in fantasy. It was a good idea at first, but now... Over-done. I mean, some of my friends are humans, and most of them are all right.
  12. For now, Other will do. I'll come up with a rank later, though I'm thinking of putting him in Security.
  13. You asked me to re-post; here it is. Made some edits to the original. The Azi Dahaka General Information Azi Prime (Dakhara was a terrible name for the planet) Breeds - The Yo'Lin Breeds - The S'Redit Breeds - The Ymmur Breeds - The Sel'Ke Breeds - The Tar'Ka'Jun Pronounciations Kagé Appearance History
  14. Confessions of a Shire Ring-Eater I would then leave the army with Aquaman, because it would inevitably be a legion of fish incapable of any action on land. And finally, I would elect Thom - I'm on the start of book 7 at the moment, and he seems like the least despicable and most responsible person in the entire series.
  15. Yarr, matey! Welcum t' de paiirate ahpocalypse! Thousands, literally thousands, of glorious Blackbeard clones running amok! Oh the terrible destruction! *Starts humming* When was the last time you heard of a pirate apocalypse? Outside of Waterworld, that is - The Film That Shall Not Be Named. EDIT: I've hit my upvote quota again, I'll upvote the posts I haven't upvoted yet tomorrow morning.
  16. My brother is a bit of a Star Trek nerd, but despises Sanderson with every fiber of his being. When he heard about this, he gave me too many pitches for me to remember and asked me to put them down here. I'm adding the ones I can remember. 1. -A planet wherein fiction is considered a crime, and the entire population takes drugs to enhance the logical portions of the brain and weaken everything else. 2. -A planet with rains of molten metal based on Earth three and a half billion years ago, on the ruins of a civilization with the components to repair the starship somewhere in one of the cities. 3. -A derelict theme park based on Earth for aliens, containing incorrect clones of famous people from Earth (philosophers, warlords, kings, celebrities, scientists, etc) for the amusement of aliens. Additional attractions could include the seven wonders of the ancient world, heavily fictionalized accounts distorted by translation and word of mouth until they reached the new galaxy (Example: Before Charles Darwin, life stagnated and failed to adapt to changing environments). The theme park is abandoned once the clones of several warlords clone armies of their own and take it over. The few aliens who remained on staff now serve underneath the warlords; the species that built the theme park, due to incorrect translation and distortion through word of mouth, revere humans as deity-like beings, considering each clone type to be a god of a particular concept. Also, please forget zombie apocalypses - Blackbeard Apocalypse. Are you sold on the idea yet? 4. Sad to say, I have forgotten the rest of his ideas. He was rather insistent on the idea of a 'Blackbeard Apocalypse', though it might be going a bit too far towards ridiculousness. Also, when are we actually going to start the rp?
  17. Once again, Kas, sorry - I was a bit way too hard on you. I am not saying I would do any better; promote me to GM, and I would run the shortest, most boring and most unbalanced SE game of all time. The Eliminators would wield weapons of mass destruction, and the Village would number two players and their cat. Any faction game I run would be even worse; they would be unbalanced to the point of absurdity, consisting of a daycare center in one corner, an ant farm in the second, and the three hundred Spartans in the third. Yes, there were a few mistakes - but those mistakes were probably miles less severe than what most of the people in this game would have done. And for the ones I've found, they were a hard choice between two different mistakes. For example, the inclusion of the Diplomat. There were two choices here - no investigative roles and let this be a faction war, but Discovery gets a massive advantage. Or include them, reducing their overall strength but promoting the idea of a VillagerElimination game. You chose a middle ground I wouldn't have even considered a possibility - one real diplomat, and one fake. While you weren't perfect, you were better than most of the people here. Stop beating yourself up with your 'I will castrate myself if I run another faction game' speech; I think I did enough of that ranting at you earlier this cycle. ;P
  18. You know what - you're right. I overreacted. I can't keep hiding behind the 'I had a bad day' shield, so I'll come out and say it - I was wrong. Regicide does not break the game. Discovery has three lives left, probably less if we lynched one of them last cycle. That gives them three kills, but all those kills mean is bargaining power. The best they can do is say something along the lines of 'If Faction A lynches Person from Faction B, then we won't kill someone from Faction A.' It gives them a chance, while keeping things fair. Regicide doesn't break the game. Regicide balances the game.
