  1. ... is right after reading Oathbringer and rediscovering just how much of a useless mess Vivenna was in WB. It's a surreal experience, WB-Vivenna and "Azure" are so, so different. I find myself constantly yelling at her in WB because the she acts is just so stupid. Even though it's not really her fault that she doesn't know crem about the real world beyond Idris. Also, I had totally forgotten just how sweet Siri and Susebron are when they get to know each other and start communicating. *-* And, well, Lightsong is still as delightful as I remember him being. And I'm not even halfway through yet!
  2. This is less then a list of predictions than it is a wishlist: - Dalinar's book is released and the reaction's are ... mixed. Adolin and Renarin give themselves up for adoption. - Szeth and Vasher meet. - Kaladin brings his family to Urithiru and plays a part in Gavinor's upbringing. - Venli had doubts about her place in the Desolation - Lift and Kaladin spend time together. It will be hilarious. - Moash is a pile of crem - Kaladin will struggle greatly with the purpose of fighting, eventually refusing to fight listeners and just going after the Fused themselves. - We'll get to see the Horneater Peaks and learn more about Rock - Lopen looks for someone to hate to say his Third Ideal - Adolin will try to revive Maya and eventually succeed - but maybe not in book 4 - Kaladin will disagree a lot with Jasnah. She likes it. - I'm in for Rlain as bondsmith Hmm. Might add more later. I'm sick and my brain isn't working right.
  3. As much as I enjoy the good OT3 fanfic or anything involving these three, there's honestly only one pairing I truly ship: Kaladin x happiness Everything else is just distraction.
  4. I liked The Emperor's Soul a lot, and now it's time for a Warbreaker reread. I'm HYPE.
  5. I also thought before that at the end of book 5, the Oathpact will be partly reinstated to give them all a break, and books 6-10 will deal with the ultimate end of the Oathpact and what comes instead. It's far from what I want (because I'm terrified some of our heroes, especially Kaladin, would have to fill in the role ... and I'd HATE that), but it's what I fear. For the rest ... humpf. I can't really come up with any cool theories as long as we don't know what happens at the end of 5. I'm already thinking about a "what happens in the one year gap between 3 and 4?" thread.
  6. As a matter of fact I finished that yesterday and indeed liked it a lot! I'd love to read more of those characters!

    Lexi's fanart

    I can't draw. I do it anyway.
  8. From the album: Lexi's fanart

I bought a new sketchbook today! It's bigger than my other one (which I'll use when I'm not at home) so I have more space to draw ugly rust practice. This is the first page! It's full of mistakes, but I like the looks of this WoK bridgeboy.
  9. But then Kaladin would have gotten his Plate back in ... IDK, Amaram's army? He has always been willing to die to protect others.
  10. @Tglassy I like your post a lot, and it makes sense what you say! I'm quite amused now about the idea of Kaladin trying to be the "father" of everyone on Roshar and protect them.
  11. I finished Elantris (reread) two days ago and moved to The Emperor's Soul yesterday which I haven't read yet. After that, it's a Warbreaker reread.
  12. The pond of Elantris? Where Elantrians can die?
  13. Now that's what I call quality content.
  14. Elantris was the the fourth book of Brandon I read (after Mistborn 1-3), back in 2010. Mistborn was one of my favorite fantasy series at the time and I wanted to read more of this author, and back then, nothing else was out. I liked Elantris a lot, but I remember that I wasn't quite as into it most of the time as I was into Mistborn from the very first page on. Still, the ending got me (Raoden's temporary fall to the Heod was a tearjerker, damnation!) and I was a big fan of Galladon from the beginning. I reread Elantris the past few days and I still liked it, I forgot so much that at times I couldn't even remotely remember certain characters and plot points. I didn't even remember who died and who didn't. During the climax, when Raoden revived Elantris, I suddenly thought "Wait, isn't Karata about to die?" and well. It has its weaknesses (I don't like how Adien was handled for example), but it's still a fantastic book and I liked the characters a lot. Very much looking forward to the sequel we may get one day. For now, I'll settle with The Emperor's Soul which I haven't read at all yet.
  15. I am wheezing right now at the idea of Szeth and Kaladin as a couple. Like. Give me the crackship fic this would become. Please. *howls with laughter*
  16. Kaladin, which of course is influenced by the fact that he's my favorite. Wouldn't be if I didn't enjoy his chapters, would he? From what we got so far, I enjoy Adolin, Lift, Renarin and Jasnah a lot. Also, Axies and Ishikk. I love their interludes. (In hindsight, at least. I'm always annoyed at interludes while they happen because I want to get on with the story.) I guess ... yeah, I'd love to get more Rlain POV as well.
  17. Ooooooh, a 101, I'll definitely need this. I came out of a several-year Branderson hiatus just over a month ago, reading his books for the first time with slight Cosmere awareness in the back of my mind (just finished a reread of Elantris AND I NOTICED HOID I'M SO PROUD), and now I intend to reread all of it and also read the books I haven't read yet (MB era 2 ...). Frankly, I'm equally fascinated, confused and terrified. I'm never going to get all this right.
  18. I mostly wondered (and still do) what exactly the mechanics of this were. How exactly did Surgebinding affect the environment? Was it misuse (like air pollution, nuclear weapons) or something more fundamental, like Surgebinding in itself disturbing the balance of the planet? Which Surge caused what kind of damage? Are all equally bad? Is there a way to do this without destroying the planet or should Surgebinding not be used at all?
  19. I got another one! Winds rising from eastern origins, storms originating eastern from rising winds.
  20. Okay, now I want my gay superpowers too. Where are they?
  21. I'll just go ahead and agree 100% with you, @Calderis Mostly because I myself are constantly fighting other people (especially my family) insisting I need a romantic relationship in my life to be happy while I'm perfectly fine on my own, thank you very much. Also, yeah, Kaladin has had clinical depression from a very young age on, way before The Bad Stuff™ happened to him, so he'll most likely, if not certainly (I'm absolutely not an expect on mental illnesses) have to deal with it - and sometimes fight it - for the rest of his life. That doesn't mean he can never be happy, or content. We see that at the end OB. He's not really content and far from happy, but he is more okay than I would have thought possible considering ... well, Kholinar and what happened there.
  22. I'd wear the storms out of Cosmere themed ugly christmas sweaters.
  23. Romantic attraction completely aside, I'm IN for more Jasnah and Kaladin interaction. I still find it almost unforgivable that Kaladin wasn't present when Jasnah roasted Amaram in OB. I mean. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE IMAGINE HIS REACTION WHEN ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL WOMEN IN THE WORLD TALKS TO AMARAM LIKE THAT.
  24. From the album: Lexi's fanart

I didn't exactly know what I was doing, but then I figured "hey, that kinda looks like Renarin", so I went with it. One day I'll get both eyes right. One day ...
  25. I want to see the Horneater Peaks, Iri, and Aimia. (What is it about Aimia, anyway?) Also, Herdaz. I wanna know how many cousins Lopen actually has.
