  1. Do you happen to have a confirmation on Adonalsium? I haven't heard that before, and I'm honestly not sure how the Shattering was a thing of Ruin, when Ruin was still a part of Adonalsium at the time.
  2. Steris: "It has been my experience that the safest place in a gunfight is near you, Lord Waxillium." Also, you should totally use the symbol from Arcanum Unbounded for the card backs, if you don't have an idea already. I'll attach the picture I took of mine.
  3. Hi all, I've noticed a lot of games that I play or watch, and just think "Oh, if they made a (Cosmere series) video game, this would be perfect to use!" So I just though it'd be cool to start a thread where people can showcase a particular mechanic or feature from a video game that would translate well into a game set in the Cosmere(A Mistborn game, Stormlight game, Warbreaker game, etc.) Allow me to start this off with two clips. Gravity Rush 2 The main character uses what could very easily be a Surgebinder using Gravitation. Specifically Lashings. The little cat that materializes(Like a spren!) is just icing. Teslagrad Character obtains a cloak(Mistcloak? :D) that allows him to do what could be called Steelpushes and Ironpulls. Hope you all have some cool ideas to add! (Edit: Link fixes)
  4. Nice, thank you for sharing that info! 'Our Lord' opens up some possibilities, assuming there is a correlation between Adonai and Adonalsium. Like perhaps Adonalsium used to be the sovereign of the 16 Vessels, and they had to rebel against him for some reason. Or it could simply be a form of respect. Dragonsteel can't come fast enough.
  5. A+ work by the whole team! Fantastic work, all. I neeeeed to see more.
  6. Regarding Renarin and what his Stormlight heals. What if his self-image is based on those around him and/or Alethi society? It's mentioned several times how he bases his own faults on the personalities of those around him. He feels worthless because he isn't a warrior, he feels impaired and bitter about his lack of physical perfection. Perhaps his vision was healed because to him, the greatest and most worthy Alethi are not physically impaired.
  7. Felt it was pretty clear as well. I've never felt Lirin was a Radiant.
  8. damnation, there goes that. Thanks for the WoBs. I was poking around trying to find one.
  9. Also, was it confirmed that the covers that go on shardblades for practice are aluminium? If so, that could lend weight to the opinion that Aluminium and knowledge of it was imported to Roshar, likely via Heralds or Tanavast.
  10. There have been instances of Italicized text referring to characters thinking to themselves. I can accept the possibility of this from a theory perspective, especially with how fast that Blade drop and resummon would have to be. Cooould be 10 heartbeats, as Adolins heartrate would be high. I do have doubts, reading the sequence in the first quote. But I don't believe this is proof. Adolin is a trained warrior and likely has sharply-honed instincts, which could account for some. Definitely some good supporting points, though.
  11. That line gives me goosebumps every time I read it. Bonus quote: Dalinar says that after the fight in WoR where Szeth Lashes Roion to the sky and he falls back down and dies. When I read Dalinar say that(noticed it on my third re-read), I thought "Wow. Wow. Too soon, Dalinar. Too soon." If that pun was unintentional by Brandon Sanderson, then that makes it all the sweeter.
  12. That was my feeling as well. The Nightwatcher curse wouldn't affect this memory or vision or what-have-you in this sense, because Dalinar met his wife when he was a young man(according to that released scene). I feel it's something separate from his Curse. Although that doesn't preclude that the light in his dream could be related to his Boon, since we have no idea what that was.
  13. Apparently my curiosity is not unique in this regard. For some reason, I can't help but draw lines between Dalinar seeing this bright light, and Shallan with the "blinding light in Father's strongbox". I wonder if, perhaps, that bright light in Dalinars dream is related to either his Godspren bond in some way, or to something he blocked out(maybe witnessing his own Father doing something Ghostblood/Son of Honor-related?)
  14. That's an interesting theory. I was thinking it had something to do with his mind "opening" to accept the Stormlight(bright, deeply piercing light) or him dreaming himself to Shadesmar's threshold, perhaps similar to how Kaladin kinda-almost glimpsed Shadesmar when he first consciously used Gravitation. It'd be interesting if that was him experiencing the first instance of his Bondsmith ability.
  15. I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but does anyone know the significance, if any, of Dalinars dream during the first week in Urithiru? For ease, I'll transcribe it here: Then he wakes up in his new room in Urithiru. Any ideas what that light was? Could it have been related to the Nahel Bond? Shadesmar(given the distant source of the light)?
  16. In Soviet Roshar, harmless is harmmore!
  17. In Soviet Roshar, Light weaves you!
  18. Indeed. If I recall, it's when Kaladin first consciously uses Gravitation to do a Basic Lashing in the chasms. He mentions something about being able to see a strange sky, almost glimpsing something, and then he changes gravity's pull.
  19. I mean, the cover flap was annoyingly taped on and rustled while I read. I guess I would have gotten annoyed enough to give it my Breath and Awaken it to stop rustling. So maybe?
  20. Nicely done! I can feel the theories a-swirlin' in my mind already. Like, have we seen or will we see a sentient Shard with no Vessel? That could be really cool.
  21. Glad to give you all a smile/chuckle. There's always something else with Sandersons books
  22. I was actually JUST about to post something to that effect, Argent. The way he's described, I always associated it with Shardblades and how they're wet with condensation after summoning. I believe the same type of thing happened to Taln. He was made to appear somewhere(perhaps in a fashion similar to Elsecalling?) and the transition left him covered in condensation, as does a Shardblade when summoned.
  23. That's true. It could be more related to the classic Marbles rules.
  24. It's also funny how upset he gets if people mess with the stones. Unlike Lightsong, he must actually understand the rules. Unfortunately I don't expect he'll explain them to anyone on Roshar, thus giving the readers a set of rules. Too bad. It'd be fun to try and get a Tarachin game going. A mix of Shot Put and Lawn Bowling, perhaps?
  25. And, it bears repeating, those Liar chapters are not canon.
