I am with Skaa on this. I believe ettmetal is the solution designed or found by rashek for southerners to survive. Even if they knew about it, they could not use it in anyway because they did not have allomancers to manipulate it for different uses.

I liked this idea very much. I did not believe some shard actually came to scadrial since Brandon said in a WoB that there are 2 shards in scadrial as preservation and ruin. I believe some kind of splinter was the traveller to scadrial and caused the unknown metal spike much like a spren/seon visiting scadrial should create a "talking"(check broadsheet with K and N) metal. There are some pretty evil people and religions in Sel already and their involvement can be counted as Scadrial bad guys without odium explanation.

It sounds very much like a spren/seon/skaze. Khriss would like to know about how a spren behaves in scadrial. It is pretty much logical to think seons/sprens shoul look like metal in scadrial. This possibility leads to an interesting result, strange spike with unknown metal can be a visiting spren/seon.

I believe scadrian FTL is about making an artificial wormhole by increasing mass of small amount of matter, so it can create a hole in space-time. It could create some problems in the solar system so it should be attempted a little bit far from main planets. We need 2 exits for a wormhole so we need to create another exit in the destination system. We have 2 mass increase machines, they will create a hole in fabric of space time. Before start we need someone with ferruchemist powers to go destinaton planet and charge a connection metalmind device powered by ettmetal. When our FTL ship is about the create wormhole tunnels, one of the wormhole creating machines will be outfitted with the connection metalmind device of destination planet. When 2 machines work, they will create a wormhole 1 exit near scadrial system and the other in destination system. All the mechanism can be put in a speedbuble to prevent harmfull effects during creation of wormhole.

I do not think ettmetal necessarily should be an allomantic metal. I believe it is the solution Rashek gave to southern scadrians. We know from a WoB that they had a different solution to survive in Last Empire era. We still do not know what it is, may be it is this metal rashek designed for them. May be he left a ettmetal burning machine to keep them alive in south. They possibly did not have allomancers to make it work any other way so could not develop it until spook/kelsier/marsh came to save them from ice. Ettmetal possibly can not be burned by and mistborn or used by a full ferruchemist. It mimics the power and somehow get some investiture to use it further.

I believe cognitive realm has indication to the relative position of planets in Cosmere. Otherwise why would a certain direction would be a way to go certain planets cognitive realm. Cognitive realm can be a sphere and positions of their cognitive aspects are positioned according to the relative position of planets in space. There can even be a physical construct in the middle of cosmere space which enables cognitive realm, therefore enabling traveling between planets. I also believe the strange suns in each cognitive realm are actually their respective planets. The function of a normal sun is providing energy and life to a planet. If we deem cosmere planets as suns in cognitive realms, they fulfill the purpose of providing energy to their cognitive aspects.

Kelsier is much like a modern version of Hoid. They are so much alike. I believe we will be used to him by the time we had more cosmere books and we will be trying to guess if Kelsier was there meddling with worlds.

There is a WOB actually confirming existence of Yolen and intelligent being still living there.(it was my own question) I believe the planet is hidden with physical means and shards collectively put it out of Adonalsium effected part of space-time. It may still have a cognitive realm but separate from the rest since it is too far away to reach. Also destroying a shardpool does not make travel impossible, just makes it difficult.

Being aware of the weapon should not mean Odium will want to use it against other shard. What if Odium is not the bad guy we were let to believe. May be he is the guy who is broken enough to think he can resist anti-adonalsium and somehow the only way to resist is splintering other shard. May be , just may be by splintering he releases the shard power and make it ready to reassembling, may be he plans to splinter himself at the end and reform Adonalsium to resist that force and its weapon.

Ok, making it short without assumption, If a shard goes to another world, will its magic be similar to the magic already invested on that world? Will that new shard magic stay when visiting shard leave?

We kind of sure that Bleeders spike is of an alien shard, So If could ask him my question would be; Bleeder spike belongs to another shard, so in a planet all new shards need to have a magic system similar to the system already invested on the planet before. New shard on scadrial have a metal based system. Does that mean a new shard on Sel would have writing/rune based system, A new shard in roshar have stormlight based system. Bleeder spike also mimics already existing powers so a new shard would not grant completely new powers. If the answer is yes Odium visits to other worlds may have left some magic effect we do not know yet.

I think the point is Odium knows what happened in other worlds and he is planning ahead. I think he made a deal with Tanavast, like one of our friends said here, a very good deal, too good to reject. We know he was torturing heralds between desolations. They are going hell/damnation every time they die. Another part of deal can be that people dying on roshar also goes to damnation for torture and Tanavast allowing himself to be killed. But after Honor dies, what is holding the deal. I think it is somehow related to Cultivation. If Odium breaks the deal, something will be triggered and Odium will face strong opposition again. It may be Cultivation taking up the Honor shard and fight Odium. I am guessing something unexpected happened and heralds broke the deal. Odium got his opening and put his plans in motion. I still think honor-cultivation have a contingency plan for the worst case scenario which is happening right now.

Hoid is from Yolen. That information is clear. I believe his affinity to other shardworlds magic is meaningful. He is from yolen, the origin of humans in the cosmere, so he has the template sDNA which all other shardworld humans sDNA is based on.

Very good theory. I also think Aon of Elantris can be modified to access Dor shard itself. I beliee the immense size of Aon rao is the reason Elantris and elantrians exist. If something similar can be done with a size of whole country, the results can be amazing. As amazing as taking up the shard itself.

TLR using only nicrosilminds as source of power completely makes sense. He can reach godly levels of power because feruchemy in theory have limitless power given enough time to store.

I think Szeth will gain some powers but those powers will not be the ones Roshar is familiar about. Nightblood is sort of spren for roshar but surges in roshar determined specifically by the spren types. Nightblood will be counted as a completely new kind of spren so it iwll grant different powers. Powers can be even related to its homeworld and awakening kind of powers.

The thing about mind controlled mechanism to harness supernova is about that. I always believed adonalsium was a construct of men rather than god in his own right. When people of yolen sent their device-ship to their sun, it might have a AI-human mind to control supernova explosion power extraction. During the process, initial mind shatters and condenses power of supernova into controllable pockets. These should be shards. Pockets of controllable power of creation created by a supernova. I believe, generations later people may build up a religion around this event. Furthermore, the initial explosion and the method of power extraction could be powerful enough to affect space-time continuum and create 3 realms as physical, spiritual and cognitive. Supernovas sometimes leave a black-hole after explosion, Some people think they are gateways to other places call it shadesmar here " a place with a black sky and a strange, small white sun that hung on the horizon " The description of sun in shadesmar, This one can easily be explained by a black-hole. Black-holes are actually very bright when they are absorbing matter.Just before matter falls into the hole, it reaches relativistic speeds in orbit of black hole and emits very high energy light.

My first theory, sorry for my bad English.I wanted to share after a thought explosion. I recently saw what Peter told after a question about nature of cosmere universe. "The involved planets are actually in a rather small star cluster, much smaller than a dwarf galaxy. This star cluster is within a galaxy." This clicked something in me. Star clusters are made up of same materials scattered around by some supernova. Their stars and planets have a common origin dating back to initial supernovas. If its a small cluster we can assume the cluster is created by a single supernova explosion together with interstellar dust. So everything in this cluster will have a piece of that kickstarter supernova star. Familiar? What we know of adonalsium. It is invested evertything in the cosmere planets. Whether a planet has shard or not does not matter. Nature of investiture changes by the planet, this is expected in supernova explosion creation theory. Supernova explosion waves hit interstellar matter(also created buy older explosions) and with that collisions new stars are born. Every single star will be a little different but they will have some very common ingredients coming from supernova. Very similar to nature of adonalsium. What if people of yolen found a way to harness power of supernova. May be they created an access key to star power. They possibly needed this power to stop that being what is against adonalsium. When supernova exploded, they gathered the power in pockets that formed shards. Why does shards have intents then. Supernova is the power of creation, only star explosions produce the higher atomic number elements which are critical for life. But it does not have a mind. This is where harnessing technique comes in. People of yolen possibly used an AI or human mind to control this power. When explosion happened, this mind-power is fragmented as shards. People in the project took power of shard but some of them left without any. They may have been left for to oversee the usage of this power. After shattering-supernova, shards started working. Rather than waiting for milions of years, shards created new stars and planets with material of initial supernova in a short time. Since each star and planet is slightly different than eachother(supernova+interstellar matter), the nature of interference for shards and planets will be slightly different in each planet. Therefore different manifestations of the same investiture appears in each planet. Planets without a shard will have the most closer relation the first form of adonalsium power. Some of the overseers like Hoid did not like what he saw through the millennia and wanted to change something while some others like Frost continues his duty. I guess Yolen was the planet orbiting that supernova and it was dying. I know Liar of Partinel is not cannon but it has the dying world idea. People of yolen needed a way to rescue themselves and the thing that was causing their death became their salvation.

I want to point to Peters answer, involved planed being just a star cluster in a galaxy. This is huge reveal to me. It may mean there are some events bound to happen in galactic scale when cosmere planets reach interstellar tech level. What we know about star clusters are they are made by similar materials, A single giant supernova explosion may have scattered the building blocks of what we know as cosmere planetary systems. This can explain rather small scale effect(star cluster) of adonalsium within a galaxy. It may be powered by that supernova in the first place.

Doesn't anyone need their sDNA to use other types of investiture than their native one. I believe Vasher found out a way in centuries like he found a way to stay hidden Returned. He is as powerfull as the Lord Ruler Rashek to the people of Nalthis. He had centuries to study nature of investiure. He could figure out a away to use stormlight awakening but I think he do not bother. He just want to have nice time vacation in Roshar.

Stick is the most likely candidate to combine all shards and become adonalsium. All hail the Stick Supreme
