  1. Wasn't lift born around the time Dalinar sought out the old magic.. Any chance she is a bastard daughter of Dalinar?
  2. I couldn't agree more Maxal with the Kaladin storyline hopes.. If he spends one more second whining about his past I might just pull my own hair out. I would like to just shake the piss out of the idiot and tell him to stop blaming the "lighteyes" for his problems. If his own father hadn't stolen a bunch of spheres his life might not have turned out so bad. Even if Roshone still was a jerk to his family all his stupid father had to do was umm MOVE to a different town for christ sake. Or if he hadn't lead his spear squad into almost certain death by attacking a Shardbearer. And then refusing the shards he should have at least claimed them and then gave them away afterward away from Amaram. I find it almost comical that he blames almost everyone for his problems yet doesn't blame himself or his stubborn father.
  3. Its been bugging me way more than it should. I've been wondering who are Lift's Parents? More importantly who is her father?
  4. I think it was the one from the byu university bookstore. but I am not for certain
  5. He is awesome isn't he.. I never thought I would say it but the Audiobook is a lot better than a normal read through. especially his Stormfather voice.
  6. No I dont I was watching one of the readings on youtube though. A fan asked him is Sadeas dead dead. He said yes. At the time I didn't think to much about it b/c I didn't think BS would be spending to much time on Alethi internal politics in the future anyway. then I saw this post and thought I would tell you guys what I saw.
  7. the interview is on youtube of BS saying that yes Sadeas is DEAD like gone forever not coming back.
  8. Any of you ever consider that they all might have just shaken their heads and said to themselves humanity doesn't deserve my sacrifice. Look at how the people of this world act. The very first thing the non-radiants did after picking up the shards was turn them on there fellow men. Not just any men either it was there comrades in arms they used the shards on.
  9. I think the Diagram was written when Mr. T was under the direct influence of Odium. Or at the very least one of the Unmade. Just a thought to ponder on.
  10. No worries grain of salt and all that.. I will give you, it would be a little anti-climatic for him to not write anything about it. I just hope he doesn't spend to much time on the "murder of Sadeas part." Although I am a fan of Sadeas simply b/c he is such an A$$hole.. lol ..however, I am looking forward to him writing about how Dalinar will bring men togather and the war with the voidbringers more than the killing of Sadeas. As for the Adolin storyline the Death of his horse was probably the beginning of him being broken, they will try him and strip him of station and title and exile him. Then he will bond a spren and become a dustbringer. Even though I personally think he deserves a round of applause rather than a trial.
  11. You seem to be taking this just a touch too seriously. I used a snort b/c I thought you would be on my side of this arguement. doesn't really matter anyway the world itself is coming to an end. Absolute Chaos is reigning on Roshar right now... that's my main arguement the Alethi have like a Million other things to worry about. Everybody knows Sadeas is a snake and I dont really buy into the whole court case storyline theory. Also who is to say they will find out Adolin did it... Nobody knows besides us readers who did it. I am saying the storyline that makes the most since to me is appointing a new High Prince and moving on to more important matters. Although I do like Sadeas as a character.. His wife is the only person who will care. also wasn't there a WOB where he stated outright that many of the Radiant orders would be fine with what Adolin did.
  12. Snorts .....arn't you the biggest Adolin fanboy out there? Although you do make a solid arguement. At worst it was manslaughter not murder . Most "murders" imply intent or premedation..
  13. Sorry but your wrong I edited my post to include the legal definition of murder. There is a huge difference between Justifiable Homicide and Murder Murder is The unlawful killing of another human being without justification or excuse. Adolin has both Justification and an excuse.
  14. Am I the only one who thinks that the only person who is going to saying anything about Sadeases "murder" is his wife. I do not consider it a murder per say. But rather just retribution for his crimes. Everybody hates Sadeas or however you spell his name. He is one of my favorite characters though. I really think that they have more important things to worry about than trying figure out who killed a man nobody on Roshar liked anyway. It wasn't murder it was a 1v1 fair fight. The fact that Adolin covered up the evidence doesnt matter that much. Remember this is Roshar where strength of arms pretty much rules the day. This isn't mordern day america. The Blackthorn killed lots of people for simply speaking out of turn by his own words.. Adolin simply carried out a delayed sentence. A little post script for you guys who think it was murder.. here is the legal definition of Murder............ The unlawful killing of another human being without justification or excuse. And since Adolin happens to have both a justification and an excuse that means it was not murder
  15. Maxal made an awesome point. I believe we need to take the name Truthwatcher more literal. I also think Renarin sees current events as well as possible future events. I believe Renarin will be one of the most dangerous characters because of this. Think about how when Kaladin asks Renarin what do you do? Renarin then looks Kaladin right in the eye and says I SEE. I think this means that Renarin knows that Kaladin was envolved in the plot to kill the king. I also think it was the truthwatchers that would direct the Radiants on where to go to fight. How else would dozens of windrunners and stonewards get to a small village in Natannatan just minutes after midnight essesenses were released. Even with all ten oathgates working at the time the female stoneward could not fly so it would be impossible unless the truthwatchers told them to go there before the event happened or at the very least told the Bondsmith of Urutiru and then he or she ordered them there.
  16. I like the idea however, what about Dalanar's Vision in Starfall the two Radiants made there Helms vanish into thin air with a thought.
  17. A few thoughts on this topic.. Remember in the diagram its says for him to push the Alethi to destory the Parshendi outright.. Using logic we can extrapolate a few things. Number one he knows the Parshendi are directly envolved with the everstorm. Getting rid of the Parshendi would solve a lot of problems pre-everstorm because no Parshendi=no everstorm the diagram seems to know this. Also sending Szeth to take care of the Parshendi leaders would not have worked.. the reason it wouldn't have worked is because he has some detailed knowledge of who and what the Unmade are, and he knows that the unmade would have simply started influencing another Parshendi if Eshonai's sister would have died before the everstorm could be summoned. Anyway those are just a couple of thoughts I had on the subject.
  18. This post is spoilerish so if you haven't read the new Edgedancer novella proceed with caution. So, I have been wondering how Nale will direct the Skybreakers now that his eyes has been opened so to speak. Will he bring them back into the fold? It is my theory that he will assign Szeth to bring Justice to the members of the Diagram. It will be a good way for Szeth to contribute to the cause will keeping him away from the Alethi who are probably still a tiny bit sore over the whole assassin in white thing. I also believe it will be the Skybreakers who investigates Sadeas's murder.. And the Nale himself will be the one that finds the other Heralds and brings them back togather. Or, at the very least finds Ishar and demand an explaination over him telling Nale that it was surgebinding that causes desolations. I also think Shallan will turn to the Skybreakers for help with dealing with the Ghostbloods. Just a few of my thoughts. I am curious as to what you guys think on the subject??
  19. very true.. however I doubt BS would do that to one of his favorite characters.
  20. Yeah I have always believed it was the worldhoppers that caused it, considering BS took the time and energy to put a modern day purelake scene into one of the interludes with worldhoppers in it. Anyone else have a fantasy that Harmony will come over and snatch all the meddling worldhoppers up and imprison them somewhere? Well all except Hoid that is.
  21. Those rigid structures your talking about are going out the window as we speak with the return of the knights radiant. Also consider that a lot of the Hearalds are dark eyed this statement doesn't really hold water. I think it would be a good match myself.. remember every ice cube eventually melts under the right conditions. Also what does age have to do with anything? maybe its just wishful thinking on my part.. Them getting togather probably wont happen would be cool if it did though.
  22. I have to weigh in on this. First and foremost another "Warrior" character is not needed in the story at this time. One of the main points so far in the story is to let you people know that being able to swing a sword well is not as important as being the one that tells you. "Hey not much time left, Seek the center." through-out both books the whole radiant Philosophy is being a strong warrior makes you less important not more important. As any fool can learn to kill, however being able to have the wisdom of knowing "When" to do it is much more hard to come by. I also find the idea of "earning" your spren insane... Who in there right mind would want to go through all that crap to "earn your spren" O hey! lets go through years of misery and become a broken person just for the slim to none chance of getting superpowers.. NOT!! I do not like the Renarin hate I am reading. He is more important as a character to the story then any other except perhaps Dalinar.. I find the idea of you people dismissing him as unimportant or not worthy annoying in the extreme. Besides Brandon every one of you knows exactly Jack-Squat about Renarin certainly not enough to have become high school bullys picking on the weird kid simply because they dont understand him. Give him a chance to become the wise consular before bashing his brains in simply because he is not in the cool kids warrior club.
  23. I hope Shallan comes to his rescue by blaming it on the Ghostbloods after her family is safe in the city she can draw their likeness in exact detail they have no way to escape. Then they can just carefully extract the rest of the names of the Ghostbloods and Humpty's prayer will have been answered.
  24. I have a question did all ten Oathgates still work after the Oathpact was shattered ?? If Not then I think it was the Heralds that sealed them by abandoning the oathpact and the reason only one still works is b/c only Taln kept his oath. everything seems to run in tens.
