there used to be an MTG thread, but its been inactive for a while...or maybe deleted, who knows. either way making a new one probably makes sense at this point. I still have a ton of cards, but its been a while since I last played. Most of my friends that play mostly only like draft formats these days, since it takes away some of the imbalance you get from being able to just buy singles. ive probably got somethign like 2 dozen decks sitting in a box in a closet, several of which i made while bored and have never played simply because the opportunity doesn't ever seem to come up any more.

The short answer is yes. though I don't know if we have specific answers for each individual metal. this was the first WoB I found on it, though I think there are others: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/316-general-signed-books-2018/#e9199 I think that other senses besides the traditional 5 can be stored as well, so long as the ferruchemist understands those things to be independent senses. Think there is a WoB to that effect, so I'll dig around a bit more and see what else I can find edit - here we go: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/100-rbooks-ama-2015/#e3387 those are both pretty vague, but they answer the general gist of your questions edit 2: there are a couple more I found that are more specific, that I don't feel like linking to right now, but they are specific examples of non-traditional senses you could store. (specifically the ability to sense pain - which is called nocioception; and the ability some animals have to detect electric fields - electroreception)

I imagine it is sort of like (warbreaker spoilers, tagged just in case)

I can't understand reading more than 1 book at once. I feel weird taking a break from one series to pick up a new book in another (which' i'll have to do soonish once my library hold on Peace Talks comes through).

If you could possibly move that section down to the bottom of the front page, that would help some. Having it right there in the middle means we have to scroll past it to get to the "The Cosmere" and "Community" sections, which I imagine are probably the most trafficced forums. putting the spoiler boards on the bottom would almost completely eliminate that issue, at least for me. out of curiosity, can you say why you aren't doing it as a sub-board under the stormlight archive board, like I seem to recall you did or Oathbringer? that seemed to work pretty well.

i got half way through book 7 then put it down and never picked it back up. 1-3 were all good, but it goes down hill after that

How long did it take you to read all three books?
Dunkum replied to Elric's topic in Stormlight Archive
been a while, so don't remember exatly, but WoK I got from the Library and didn't have to renew, so less than 2 weeks for that one. WoR I read in a single weekend front to back. I think it probably took like 30 hours or something, and I don't think I slept that night. Oathbringer took longer than that, and probably longer than WoK, but still probably within 2 weeks. -
My take was that she wasn't physically there, just able to see into it for a time To the original question - I've seen a few discussions on becoming a radiant to multiple orders, and the general consensus (based on that WOB cited above) is that it is possible but very difficult. It seems likely that being a KR of one order and a Squire of another order, while a bit easier, would still fall into that category; though admittedly, we know little about how one becomes a squire.

seems plausible. I haven' played switch much, but I seem to recall the joycon being able to do some of the same motion control stuff as the wii-mote. When I played skyward sword a while back, the motion controls were one of the things I didn't like, but if they could refine them some, it would help. personally i'm more interested in the Breath of the Wild sequel. I expect I'll have to get a switch when that is ready.

eh, Skyward Sword is in my bottom 5 zelda games. maybe even bottom 3 depending on if I grade on a curve based on when it was released.

changing proportions shouldnt have an effect - we know normally in allomancy the alloy proportions need to be precise, or close to precise to work. change the proportions of tin and copper in your bronze and you dont end up with a different effect, you end up with a splitting headache or even sick/dead for trying to burn a non-pure metal. godmetals could be different, but I wouldn't expect it. You also have to take into account whether or not the godmetal from an intermigled shard (like harmony) is the same as the alloy of the godmetals of the shards that were intermingled to create it (e.g. is harmonium the same thing as a lerasium/atium alloy?) as well as the question of whether alloying multiple godmetals together produces different effects (e.g. lerasium+atium is probably a thing, and lerasium + trellium likely is too, and probably atium + trellium, but what about lerasium + atium + trellium? and is that different from trellium + harmonium? is harmonium + lerasium a thing? etc). I did the math on it once, and i think I ended up with there possibly being thousands of combinations

How many shards are there?[Hero of Ages Spoiler]
Dunkum replied to Chinkoln's question in Cosmere Q&A
I would say its still 13 when ruin and preservation die. the shards are still there and still whole, they just arent being held by anyone. this is distinct from the others that die, because their shards are torn apart by Odium.- 14 replies

How many shards are there?[Hero of Ages Spoiler]
Dunkum replied to Chinkoln's question in Cosmere Q&A
Depends on how you'd define it I suppose. I'm not searching out WOBs right now, but Brandon has said that Ruin and Preservation are fairly intertwined at this point, so it would probably be pretty reasonable to consider Harmony to be a single shard, or supershard i guess, and that they would probably drop together as a single thing if Sazed were killed. on the other hand, at least 4 shards have been splintered by Odium, so do they still count anymore? it would take an enormous amount of effort to pick up their pieces and pull them back together, if you even could at this point. Plus Autonomy seems to be splitting himself (herself? not sure it was ever clear) into multiple avatars, which might or might not be similar to splintering - I don't think we have a lot of information on that.- 14 replies

Soulcasting your soul [Spoilers for FE and WoK, maybe?]
Dunkum replied to Chinkoln's question in Cosmere Q&A
I suspect it would be too much of a change for forgery. a few days, or even weeks here or there might be workable, but years....the amount of history change needed for years of age change would be a lot. -
After playing a ton of civ v, where cities can defend themselves without units, and where there is no unit stacking, I have a ton of trouble going back to 4 - i end up wiht wildly underdefended cities and get slaughtered. I do miss general-led units, though all of mine seemed to get rambo-ed by some random enemy spearman left over from the early game. pretty sure ive had tanks killed by macemen and a helicopter killed by a pikeman before.

ahh, cool. thanks. and yea, I agree that Kalad's Phantoms would definitely, even without the above. they arent particularly heavily invested, and are very muhc physical.
-
Well, not aluminum - that won't have an atium shadow. I'm actually curious whether something less substantial, like a spren or one of the wraiths from Shadows for Silence would have one. Or something just extremely heavily invested, like the Bands of Mourning. We know they dont show up to Wax's steelsight, similar to Aluminum, would they similarly resist presenting an atium shadow?

ahh, neat. yea, I kinda like that cover better than the one I have, but i mostly wouldnt take it literally.

your cover shows Mat holding a bird? that is definitely not what mine shows

I think the last book and the epilogue give him entirely too much credit. He is definitely interesting, and a good chracter, I just don't think the good he did is enough to erase what a complete jerkbag he was.
-
I think you'd have a lot of trouble doing this specific combination, actually. at the very least you'd probably need to be a 5th oath skybreaker before you could bond the cultivationspren, because I don't think the early skybreaker oaths are very compatible with edgedancer oaths, but at the 5th oath, you may have some additional freedom. even then it would be very hard, I think. and for what its worth there are at least 1 or 2 threads on the stormlight board discussing this sort of thing.

it can be done well, but it does get tiring when it seems like so many books fall into that trope.

mistborn Mistborn HoA - How is Vin able to Push on an Inquisitor's spikes?
Dunkum replied to Soulcaster05's question in Cosmere Q&A
with enough duralumin and enough steel, maybe. especially if the allomancer themself is particularly strong. the human body's natural investiture interferes, but you can overcome that with enough raw power, its just that usually the amount of power needed is higher than a person can get. but duralumin can push those limits higher, at the cost of burnign up your entire supply in one go. -
mistborn Mistborn HoA - How is Vin able to Push on an Inquisitor's spikes?
Dunkum replied to Soulcaster05's question in Cosmere Q&A
the duralumin enhanced push is a lot stronger. you should note that a lot of what they think they know in era 1 mistborn isn't necessarily 100% true. The Lord Ruler can push and pull on metals inside the body for instance, and can pierce a coppercloud, just because he's so much stronger than your standard mistborn. so in this case, with the duralumin to enhance things, the push is much stronger than Vin could normally manage, and is strong enough to affect metals inside the body.
