Scadrian version of Zeno's paradox right here.

BBQ, Bacon, Jalapenos, Onions (fried are best but raw are fine too)

cheese is bad on burgers.

controversial opinion: cheese is heavily overrated, and actually not very good on most htings most of the time.

Masque is particularly appropriate this year

i basically disagree with just about everything you said here. I'll leave it at that.

well he definitely didn't kill the main antagonist. Snoke was nowhere near interesting enough to be the main antagonist, he was a shallow failed attmept to make a copy of palpatine. more to the point, Kylo took his place, which meant that even if you cared enough about Snoke to consider him the primary antagonist somehow, its not like there was no antagonist after his demise, just a different and infinitely better/more interesting one

you are giving those way more credit than they deserve. TFA was better the first time around when they called it Star Wars (and later added "A New Hope" to distinguish it from its sequels). TLJ was fine, it had a couple cool moments but I get the feeling that most people who dislike it do so because it reversed course from the garbage Abrams was giving us. it isnt substantially worse than TFA, it just, admittedly, doesn't work well as a sequel. I havent seen TROS, but just knowing that Palpatine is alive and shows up makes me hate it. that is an absolutely dumb piece of writing and it taints the rest of the film Rogue one is good, definitely the best movie of the lot, but its not a 10. maybe an 8 didnt see Solo Haven't seen the Mandalorian, so can't judge, btu everything I hear is good. this one might warrant the 9 you gave it.

The Slow Regard Of Silent Things (which I coincidentally just reread today) and The Lightning Tree are both 2014 and even if you don't count those Wise Man's Fear is 2011; still got a bit to go before he hits 10 years

I know, I saw it upthread. Maybe it means what you think, but mentioning copperminds in the question itself is leading. It is just as possible that asking the question in a more open manner, without making explicit mention of copperminds, would have produced a different example with different implications. without further clarification beyond "like a coppermind" i'm not inclined to believe that it removes anythign permanently.
-
I'd bet that is because of poor question phrasing though. like a coppermind could mean a variety of different things, and it is possible that Brandon interpreted it differently from that question than you are doing now, It isin't like he volunteered that apropos of nothing; there may be better comparisons (tinminds possibly) that weren't mentioned by the questioner so weren't part of the answer.

there's a reason it's named "Changes"

im certain at least one or the other specifically comments on how it is diffcult to store past a certain point

probably Sammael in Illian. Perrin and Moiraine are there and flee in the middle of the night to avoid staying there after maybe attracting his notice.

basically from Mat's chapters in book 3 when he is in Caemlyn, right? Yea, its a lot less obvious then

theres your answer

WoT reread finished. not sure what to pick up next. will likely take at least a small break first though
-
Dont have time to dig up the WoB about it, but the short version is that it is possible, but it would take some effort to manage.

the 2 really are basically a single book for all intents and purposes. Most Dresden books seem to go 1. Dresden is in way over his head 2. after several life threatening encounters and some investigation he works out the culprit 3. climactic fight against said culprit. Peace talks is basically steps 1 and 2, and Battle Ground is basically entirely step 3.

that sort of thing never quite stops. im in book 13 of my reread, and there are still people doing that, so if you couldnt stomach it early on, it is only going to get worse.

Out of curiosity, can you elaborate on this some? I don't particularly remeber very much foreshadowing, especially in the earlier books.

I'm roughly in your third category there, and that is more or less right. I did read them as they were coming out, but I was already an avid fantasy reader by that point. Though I do think you are missing one additional piece which is that there was (and still is, to some degree) a ton of hype surrounding them, and that affects things too. in my case, it made me dislike them more, arguably more than they deserved.

The Legend of Korra Is Now Also On Netflix! (Avatar's Sequel)
Dunkum replied to Scout_Fox's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I can sort of understand the argument that Korra is so different from ATLA, in terms of themes and characters, etc, that it isn't a proper sequel. I disagree wholeheartedly, but I can understand the logic there. What I don't understand is taking up the banner for The Dragon Prince. it isn't terrible or anything, but I do think that it is, on every level, inferior to ATLA (and most of Korra, for that matter); at least the 1st season was, and the little I saw of the second season didn't look any better to me. That's mostly just personal opinion, though I'd argue the animation is objectively worse.
