  1. How to train your dragon. EDIT: Sorry, just noticed the non-human hint. So it can't be it.
  2. Nope. I also like Gotham better. And to be honest, I haven't even watched Flash. Can't force myself to. I really liked the Arrow universe at the beginning for its realism, but then they added super powered people, and well... it bugs me. But to start with, I want to say that I am not a big comic reader. For me comic universes are WAY too crowded in terms of over-powered characters. In Marvel there are probably more superpowered people (mutants, superheroes, various weird people, etc.) than generic Homo sapiens representatives. This is crazy. I don't know how it looks in DC, as I've never actually felt the urge to check, but by the sheer numbers of the Justice League members I can guess it's not so different. And, yes, I could read the comics just about one character, for example, but right now some superhero team-ups happen every second issue, so it's not so easy to avoid these crowds of superheroes. Therefore in comics’ category the winner is... Marvel. For having Guardians of the Galaxy and Star-Lord alone. That's the only criterion I use. When Marvel first announced GotG movie, I decided to check it out, and then Wikipedia said there is a freaking talking racoon, and since racoons are my favourite animals by far I decided to read the comic a little. I've been a huge fangirl ever since. That's basically the only comic I actually read. But I do agree that DC villains are way more multidimensional than the Marvel ones. So DC also gets points here. Movies: Marvel, for consistent universe, with limited number of characters (I was actually strongly against adding Spiderman and I am strongly against any ideas of adding X-men or Fantastic4 to the MCU). However The Dark Knight is a way better movie than all the MCU movies together, so I would claim DC as the winner here, if they didn't try to make a REALLY rushed Justice League movie right now and cast Ben Affleck as Batman on top of that. As a huge TDK trilogy lover, I feel that they're trying to push it too much, and that it's not working well, and that it's going to be crap, and I really don't like crap movies involving Batman, because he's an awesome character. Simply because the TDK trilogy is still fairly new, I feel that it is simply too early to make another Batman version. And, well. Man of Steel was meh. And all the DC movies before Batman Begins are not even worth mentioning. TV = Draw. Agents of SHIELD are just bad, but Netflix's Daredevil is amazing, and I haven't watched Agent Carter, but I heard that it was fine. Arrow was good, but now it gets worse, Flash I haven't watch, and I'm not planning to, Gotham is entertaining, but nowhere near as good as Daredevil. Also DC gets some points for amazing Batman TV cartoons that I watched as a kid.
  3. How is "getting more squires" a 'special' ability? I always thought that this is just kind of a side effect of the divine attributes of Windrunners, that's all. I mean if you have a "leading" attribute, then of course you get more 'followers', by definition. Unless I'm totally wrong. O.o @CuriousWolf: I would also put primary and secondary attributes in separate columns, in addition to what kaellok said. Edit: Last edit deleted.
  4. Well, if the word count proportions are going to stay similar for the next books, then you can already count me as a happy reader. Analysis clearly shows, that despite the different "focus" of each book, Kaladin kind of stays the "focus" of the series, as he gets most POV time. That's good, as he's my fav character. And I am extremely happy that we'll (probably) get Dalinar focused book. He's more important character than Szeth or Eshonai and is also way more interesting. And I need someone interesting after having to read through so many Shallan's chapters in WoR (I really don't like her). So: Yay, Dalinar! Also: Hi, everyone. Long time no see.
  5. Well, I'm pretty sure that the laws of many other countries would actually prohibit something like that. It can't be this way that NSA can't search american computers, but can search any others.
  6. Well, I wouldn't know about that, because I know nothing about USA constitution, except for the year it was sign and by who, and I definitely know nothing about the Amendements. So I can't really discuss with that. But I do see your point.
  7. It's the same issue everywhere, not only in the USA. What I mean is that I don't see a reason to care about that, if I don't have this "secret stuff". I don't say that goverment should have this power, but that I simply don't care if they do. And it's not like they actually really look what we're doing. They don't have time to look at that, they have millions of computers to invade, So I'm pretty sure that as long as I don't have "weird, secret stuff" my privacy is more or less safe. But that's just my personal opinion.
  8. Well, maybe. But even if, then why should we care. It's not like normal people have anything intresting for them on their PCs. I think they wouldn't care, even if you had a pirated Windows on your PC. Even if they had a way to spy on us, it's not like they would assign a specific worker to each computer to actually read all the stuff we write, they would probably use some search engine, looking for some keywords, or something. I don't see a problem with that. I am much more concerned with what internet providers do in UK. They're actually following people on the internet. That's just bad, man.
  9. Wait, which one was that? Dalinar or Gavilar? Or both?
  10. Vin? Though she's not exactly a Misting...
  11. I actually think this is just a conspiracy theory.
  12. Thanks! Looks like translation is not that bad, and I actually think that "dusznikowanie" is pretty fine. I was worried that they translated "soulcasting" into some two-word phrase that would be way too long again (like "burzowe światło" is, which is simply funny ; D ), so although "dusznikowanie" is kind of weird it is still really all right. And it's good that "spren" stayed "spren" not some sort of "duszki" or other crazy stuff like that. As for translating names, I am not against it. I am not a big fan of it, but "Rock" deserved to be translated, because this name was clearly supposed to mean a rock. But for Graves I don't think so. I actually considered it to be a normal name that just happened to sound as English "grave" therefore I'm really surprised someone decided to translate it. And it's sounds kind of stupid. I mean, who would ever work with a guy whose name means literally "grave"?
  13. Well, actually I don't really like it. The yellow font totally doesn't match it. And yeah, the picture itself is cool. But the Polish version of WoR doesn't even have a cool picture in the cover, and it's just totally meh. I believe that all they did was picking some picture of pseudo-medieval knights, putting some random colour enormous title, and didn't even pay attention if the font and picture matches or if the picture has anything to do with the plot of the book. I find it really dissapointing. Eaither way. @Mestiv, I've got a question, that only you can answer: I know that in Polish the Stormlight Archive is translated into Archiwum Burzowego Światła. Does it actually mean that every word "stormlight" was translated into "burzowe światło" and this is the form used by characters in dialogues etc., or do they use some other translation? Because "burzowe światło" is just soooo long phrase. Oh, and could you also tell me how "Shardblade", "spren" and "soulcasting" were translated? I would be reeeeaaaally grateful. The reason I'm asking is that I didn't have a chance to read these books in Polish, but I'm just really curious how the publisher managed the translation, and I don't really know anybody else to ask.
  14. Have my upvote. This is brilliant. Made me laugh so hard. Gaah, to be honest I also can't remember any proverbs. EDIT: Is it Journey before Destination? It has to be it.
  15. Oh, RPG! I've always wanted to try some tabletop RPGs, especially D&D, because I've heard it mentioned quite a lot, but I simply have no one that would like to play with me. No one I know is interested in this sort of thing, so I never actually tried anything like it, and I simply know nothing about it. But sounds fun.
  16. @CheeseUnited, could you give us another hint?
  17. From what I've read it looks like the whole series id typical 'from zero to hero' trope.
  18. I have it on my "to read" list, but I'm kind of worried that I'm not going to like it. I don't know why. But I'll definitely read it at some point.
  19. I just finished Echopraxia by Peter Watts. Absolutely brilliant book (it's sf), although I believe that Blindsight (the previous book in the series) was better. Maybe because it was something new, like I've never read before, maybe because its topics were more interesting. Blindsight was also darker, but Echopraxia also has quite a lot of dark and slightly controversial themes. My biggest ossue with it was that I found it less... scientific. What I like most in Watts' novels is that they really appeal to the scientific mind, but this one was slightly less so. But yeah, I liked it a lot. And currently I'm doing the Acts of Caine reread. I just finished Heroes Die and staretd Blade of Tyshalle. I haven't this series in a while, and I've never read Caine's Law, so I think it's a good idea to make a reread, especially that I really like these books. When I'm done with Caine, I'll probably start the Second Apocalypse series by Bakker. Or maybe I'll read Wot, because I haven't yet. Or maybe I'll do SA reread, but Bakker seems to be the most probable at the moment.
  20. Vasher and Shashara creating Nightblood.
  21. Dalinar appointing Amaram as head of KR (great idea, Dal, great idea). Shallan's parents.
  22. Yes. Maybe it was too easy. ; )
  23. Yay. A greedy liar.
