  1. Gee, next week is going to be simultaneously good and bad for Twi. The last episode of Gravity Falls comes out on Monday, followed by Calamity on Tuesday. That's two series, done! Finnis! Resolved! Concluded! Never to have future installments ever again!
  2. "He struts, he strolls! His love is rock and roll, he's a veteran Cosmic Rocker!"

  3. Their expectations definitely need to be lowered, I think.
  4. That's a good idea, see what you won't be moving and sell. You won't make as much as you want, perhaps, but it will make packing up and moving cross country much easier.
  5. It's a minor setback (a stressful one, to be certain, but it has the added benefit of showing the level of cluelessness of your parents) Starting a new career is stressful, and you run into some bumps along the way. These are experiences that, as you face them, will prepare you to be the person you want to be. It looks bad, but storms eventually pass. There are also preparations you can make to make things a little easier. Come up with ten percent of a plan, and that will be enough (worked in Guardians of the Galaxy ) and if your parents want to help, you can point out a specific part of the plan (this will actually be the hardest part, I think) As Kaymyth said, pm me the gofundme link when you have it set up. I'll set up something so you don't have to worry about costs involving Bruce, that way your parents can't use him against you.
  6. Ben Affleck as Batman seems like it will work out very good
  7. Well, now you got something to throw in their faces...grumble... Usually, I think you can change days with air tickets. Their might be strategy to do so, but calling customer service and explaining the situation should work out fine. It's a pain, but you shouldn't lose any money, I think. And if/when your parents use this development to say they were right all along, tell them to go suck some eggs.
  8. Could Darth Vader force choke Dumbledore?
  9. Why is the Wizarding world so woefully unprepared to deal with an invasion of extraterrestrial beings?
  10. Can wizard access the Dor?
  11. Yeah...Doomsday is pretty much completely different from what he is in the comics... At least, that's the speculation, I could be wrong. And being potentially relegated to "enemy of my enemy is my friend" status is also a negative. Really diminishes the threat of the character, much like what happened with the Destroyer in Thor.
  12. When Wizards transform into animals, how are the Laws of Conservation of Mass and Energy satisfied?
  13. Is Bellatrix Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs?
  14. A useful spell when visiting a White Castle. Also, is White Castle just a huge practical joke played by the Weasley twins on Americans?
  15. Ask her if Arby's was founded by Voldemort in order to weaken the American Wizardry Community!
  16. I think it is important to start on Sel. So Elantris or The Emperor's Soul (I introduced a friend to Sanderson with Emperor's Soul, and she went to Mistborn after that). Mistborn after is good, since with that, you can start pointing out various aspects of the Cosmere: namely the concept of world hoppers and Shards. After that, I would say Warbreaker and then Stormlight Archive. The remaining novelletes can almost be read at any time... Except Secret History...that should be read after Bands of Mourning.
  17. Ask her what she thinks of Arby's and their gristley roast beast sandwiches
  18. The sides are good...but the sandwiches? I don't know, it seems like I bite into gristle more often than not...
  19. Star Wars. Those rebels are almost always ending up in some sort of Last Stand!
  20. Over the course of the year, I've warmed up from, "Ewww...another Zack Synder film? When will someone take away his director's chair?" to "Well, this looks much better than Suicide Squad."
  21. So does Arby's suck, or am I just hating all the things childhood me liked in an attempt to strangle what adolescent innocence remains in my being?
  22. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do aside from being there if she decides she wants help and encouraging her to seek it from professionals. The latter may be the lynchpin. I was raised to think professional psychologists were sex obsessed quacks and it took a bit for me to overcome that aversion. Demystifying the process by speaking of your experience could help with that.
  23. I like books with an interesting style, and Blood Meridian definitely has that! It also looks like it is very well researched... So as an aside, I'm leaning some Western Expansion history as well!
  24. Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy
  25. Yeah, don't worry. In business, it is expected that you may have to wait at least two business days for a reply to, say, an email. Nothing out of the ordinary.
