  1. Ah, but some chutney have ginger as an ingredient
  2. You devious librarian! Have you no morals?
  3. She's trying to get people to ask about it! Don't do it! It's a trap to get your delicious souls for her chutney!
  4. Honestly, I accept full responsibility. And I'll be very surprised if you do not like it.
  5. At the same time, with what we have found out about Southern Scadrialians, there seems like there's more clues in the company Mraize keeps in the form of a masked lady whose name escapes me.
  6. Thanks for the clarification! I was wondering about the timing of Hoid's visit to the Well.
  7. Twimom's Story: A morality story Once upon a time, there was a person who thought it was her responsibility to teach everyone how to live life. She did not feel like she had to pick the right time and place to do so, for she felt that her made-up calling required her to be preaching all the time. "Please pass the salt," a child in need of sodium would say at supper time. "You are the salt of the earth, and I will pass you to the world," she would reply. For every situation, she had an aphorism or some point to make. Instead of recieving compliments or criticisms, she would expound upon some principle. "Thank you for picking me up from soccer practice," the child would say, refering to a cliched sport that children in these sorts of stories always seemed involved in. "It is important to be grateful," the mother replied, "unlike this morning, when you did not even acknowledge that I dropped you off at school or made breakfast." "I'm sorry," the child was uncertain how to proceed and started to feel confused and upset. "Contrition is the first step to leaving one's wickedness behind and starting on the path of righteousness", she moralized, "but you should not pick and choose, for you were not sorry for drinking the last bit of milk this morning without asking if anyone else wanted any." After years and thousands of these sorts of conversations, friends and family started avoiding her. This only caused her to intensify her preaching, she had souls to save! People were avoiding her because they felt uncomfortable that she pointed out their sinful ways, but that was when her teaching was the most important! Eventually, she had no friends or family around her. She took to preaching to strangers trying to do their job. "Welcome to McDonalds, what would you like today?" "I would like the Love and Grace of God," she answered "And that is free, which is cheaper than a McChicken." Nobody knows when she decided to go South to preach to the Mexicans. All anyone knew was the sense of relief that she was Mexico's problem now.
  8. The metal so far has only been shown to be used as fuel. No one has ingested and "burned" it yet, so strictly speaking I am hesitant to group it together with other Allomatic metals.
  9. Do not. I just finished Bands of Morning and just...do not... you do not want certain things spoiled. I do not know how the topics are, but just don't risk it, man!
  10. Bands of Mourning
  11. A friend just informed me that you can get it on iBooks now.
  12. At least I won't be tempted to peek at it before I've read Bands of Mourning...I guess...
  13. Wow....wow....I mean... wow...is... is this the "secret project" referred to in the past? Because if it is...wow... if not, I may start hyper-ventilating.
  14. I will train up a pony brigade to free the Land from the tyranny of Twimom!
  15. In honor of Australia day, some Thatch Noir, which was some indy glam goth gig from Sydney that I have no logical reason for knowing about:
  16. Well, looks like the employees at the bookshop have decided to be law abiding citizens, so no new books for me until the morrow.
  17. Are you sure it wasn't the oven that burned them?
  18. Ah, man... City of Blades comes out tomorrow along with Bands of Mourning! Why, or why did I not take this week off? City of Blades is the sequel to City of Stairs, which I think Peter Ahlstrom recommended on the Brandon Sanderson website once upon a time, so thanks for the recommendation, Peter!
  19. Before fangirls, there was... Magnus, Robot Fighter!
  20. I'll probably have to wait until tomorrow *sob! Woe is me!* I was able to get Firefight early but not Shadows of Self. I also think the City of Stairs sequel is out this week, so... squeeee!* *This is the sound robots make when they are karate-chopped to death
  21. I'm younger than you and I refuse...refuse!...to get an ebook in any of its forms...be it for first or subsequent readings, home or travel, give me books or give me ramen noodles! (Which would almost certainly lead to death)
  22. I am going to see if I can get it today! If not, I'll get it tomorrow z
