Wait, wait, WAIT!!! You mean to tell me that Hoid is not a cheese maker, and the cosmere isn't just a place he day dreams up while making cheese on his dairy farm?!....... My life is a lie! Onto the actual theory. I find this very interesting. Duralumin in itself is interesting to me, and I'd love to see further explanation on this. Does anyone know what type of connection is stored, or what specifically is meant by "connection"?

But in that same instance, referring to Breeze's soothing, I guess Kelsier could be the most powerful to her because of his mastery of steel and iron. I just thought it was an odd statement for Sanderson to make, when in terms of raw power, Kelsier was far from the strongest.

A double take while re-reading The Final Empire
iBambam replied to Rockbud's topic in Cosmere Discussion
When saying it was unimportant, I meant more to the specific stories than the cosmere as a whole. However, the references made to The God Beyond are in my opinion a reference to Adonalsium as a single deity, prior to being shattered. I could be wrong though, just my opinion. -
A double take while re-reading The Final Empire

I always took those too be referencing Adonalsium, but it could be another deity. I bet Sanderson worded it like that on purpose as a fun Easter egg, I don't think it's necessarily of major importance tho -
I'm re-reading the first mistborn trilogy and I just have a random question/thought I'd like to get some opinions on. In the first or second chapter of WoA Vin specifically says that Kelsier was the most powerful allomancer she's ever met. However, we know the Lord Ruler was way more powerful than Vin or Kelsier (at this point in the story). So my question is; is this Vin starting to buy into the religion that Kelsier set up for the skaa, is she starting to believe, subconsciously, the legend about him even though she knew him? Did Sanderson do this on purpose? Or am I just reading way too much into this? Haha

I doubt that, a kandra would want to blend in, not stand out and attract attention. Unless, Odium (or another shard) was able to influence their actions or exert control over them because of the hemalurgic spikes. Or if it would have something to do with being so far from the shard whose power they've been invested with. Which may be possible? I don't know, what do you guys think?

Good luck buddy! So far we have nothing but guess

I love this theory. The research you've done is amazing! I think you may be onto something here and I love it! I'm not sure about the other planets, but Lucentia/Vev really seems to fit Roshar in many ways. If Lucentia as an essence is the "eyes" of the cosmere, then it makes perfect sense that through it Odium could gain access to the test of the cosmere somehow. This would be a big reason why Roshar is central to the struggle within the cosmere. If Odium can literally crack Roshar, thereby cracking Lucentia, perhaps that is how he free's himself from Roshar.

I recently tweeted Brandon asking him if he had tour dates for BoM yet, and he responded that unfortunately he isn't touring for BoM, but will tour for Calamity in February or April. Just thought I'd let you guys know.

I honestly feel like it's going to be someone out of left field, that we never saw coming. I still feel Iyatil is a decent candidate, but I think we're missing someone and when it is finally discovered who/where the kandra is we're going to collectively have a "I didn't see that coming" reaction.

Trell and FTL travel [Shadows of Self Spoilers]
iBambam replied to stonetwotwo's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I remember reading that as well, that SA takes place between era 1 & 2 -
I feel like the argument of odium being trapped "as of WoR" isn't a good argument, consisting SoS takes place so much farther into the future than SA. I will concede the point, which I've done in a thread about Bavadin, that Paalm's behavior leans more towards Autonomy than Odium. However I don't think we can count out the possibly of Odium being involved. Where did you see Brandon reference the Human Chimera's?

Some have speculated Drehy as being a terrismen, which could very well mean he's a kandra, the other is Gaz, but I lean towards him not being a kandra. I haven't read the books in some time so I can't think of any other bridge four members besides rock off the top of my head. And I don't think rock is our suspect.
-
That would be typical of Mr. Sanderson
-
I thought most Horneaters could see spren though, or am I mistaken?
-
Well I'll put my tin foil hat on here, who's to say that Drehy isn't a kandra disguised as a terrisman since they are obviously similar to a place on Roshar?

I agree, while I can't definitively disprove Rock being a kandra, I feel we have learned too much about his lifestyle and that of the Horneaters and their culture for him to be our WalDo.
-
^ that's not necessarily true when it comes to world hopping. Brandon has said worldhopping does weird things to a person. It's very possible a terrisman sent by harmony could have been given an elongated lifespan

I think this theory does have potential, but one of your first quoted states where Kaladin thinks he's from. Is there more known about that area? From an interlude maybe?

True, but that doesn't make the comment necessarily untrue. Kandra, being matters of disguise can probably fake emotions very well to fool people. It's probably second nature to skilled ones.

New heralds is definitely a possibility in my opinion. I've been leaning towards that thought for a bit now. Maybe end of book 5?
-
That makes the most sense to me. It would be cool if she got different powers on different worlds, but I doubt it would work that way.

That is an interesting thought as well. He does keep his head shaved which is odd, and that quote is very similar to TenSoon. We may be on to something here. Guess I need to read some more!
