  1. Trapping spren is the basis of every modern fabrial ever, so half-shards almost definitely have them.
  2. Nightblood forms a sort of bond in order to speak to people in their heads. Maybe the bond was necessary for the visions?
  3. Well the hour length has to be similar if not identical to Earth, or Kaladin's age wouldn't calculate out to match that WoB as well as it does. And Brandon hasn't really said otherwise. It could be that all shardworlds derive their time measurements from Yolen hours, which in turn match Earth. We don't know. One year is 500 days, so for the average 20 hour day you do, indeed, have 10,000 hours.
  4. Well, maybe the symptoms can be fixed at least? Depends on how autism actually happens in humans. The Roshar species of human at least.
  5. Maxal brought it up himself though. Epilepsy can be somewhat fixed to some extent, and that's all I actually said in my post. He was wincing when he caught the blade. Even before bonding Dalinar only "felt wrong" at most.
  6. I stand corrected. Been a while since I read that. Shin eyes though. "Taln" didn't have that, I think. And further implication thst she and the Heralds aren't Roshar native.
  7. I doubt Marsh looks human enough to go around undetected . . . And he probably can communicate with Harmony. It only takes one spike, no matter how weak, and he has what, 20?
  8. 16% of the non-Terris population is rare?
  9. Wouldn't Shalash and Jezrien have similar complexions though? The woman suspected to be Shalash didn't really get a descriptor for skin tone like "Taln" did.
  10. One does not simply fall out of the sky through two hurricane-level storm systems (or worse), slam into solid rock, and not die. He just got brought back fast enough.
  11. ? Who's talking about healing the autism? O_O
  12. Dust explosions are a lot easier to cause than you give them credit for. It usually just takes a strong enough heat source (flame or otherwise) and a lot of combustible powder suspended in air in one area. Of course, rock not being combustible is the real issue here. It's a mystery. And yeah, for all we know just powersliding in Plate can cause enough heat.
  13. The rock was smoldering I believe. Kalak basically just goes "well the dustbringers sure did their job thoroughly" so it's probably something they end up doing a lot. If they Divide something combustible into dust and then increase the friction, I suppose sparking a dust explosion won't be too difficult?
  14. He cares so much about his weakness that I'm sincerely doubtful that even stormlight could heal that epilepsy without a significant boost to confidence, sadly
  15. Gravitation manipulates the spiritual gravitational connection between the object and the world though. It doesn't really need to nullify anything or affect Roshar itself. Which is what is weird about half-lashings. Is lashing portions of existing weight actually possible, or is it just how it's operated in their minds? Because multiple lashings generate free acceleration out of nowhere, but fractions somehow steal from existing force. As for abrasion and fire, that would involve increasing friction no? We already know abrasion can decrease it. The point still stands.
  16. So he's a less boastful and happy Kelsier?
  17. Wasn't that just the bond failing?
  18. He's not talking about THAT dark sphere. IIRC it actually was, indeed, blackish. Probably spherical. Of course, it was just a normal stone, most likely. Nothing weird-looking about it.

You gotta admit though, allomancy and feruchemy work so well with pretty much anything that you can't really blame him. Though we do really need that space opera. But how strong would mistings even still be at that point? The Mists would need to pull double time just to make people Snap-able, surely?
  20. Yesh, we don't even know why he's doing this, and being a worldhopper he might be the most well informed guy in Urithiru right now for all we know. Backstabbing is just typical of a secret organization outside the boundaries of law.
  21. Well the ones we've seen look human enough. There's got to be nearly 10 species of "human" out there anyway. I think by the biological definition alone being on separate planets is probably enough to deny the necessary gene flow to prevent speciation . . .
  22. Plus, those murder sprees seem mostly caused by a combination of fearing for their own safety and complete disregard for human death. Children definitely can do that.
  23. Well, nobody knew about allomancy at least. It definitely exists, and Alendi must've been burning trace bronze or something. It's not like anyone would spontaneously decide to swallow a lump of steel or whatever, which is probably the amount you'd need to make the reserve obvious to the allomancer.
  24. Has it occurred to you that some sort of power that manipulates "cohesion" should logically be able to both strengthen and weaken the forces?
  25. That's . . . what I said. Jezrien (Szeth) + 7 + Taln = 9. There's one more.
