You're not a very convincing method actor if you always swear like a Pathian.

Every month we get a new breath stockpile for reanimating the dead, it seems. People like spending it, though until this one it's mainly been theory threads being updated with new revelations.

Walking away from an explosion. Joe is a true badchull.

"Best for Him?" Nothing in this incident that he was aware of could so much as come close to endangering whatever self-interest he might have. He's the godlike being that literally asks whatever people might want to follow him to not worship him in any way. Everything he's done in SoS was to prevent a slaughter. Because there's no way allowing everyone to be manipulated by someone into killing each other actually increases the degree of free will being exercised more than having them all be more or less alive would.

I hope you meant tap weight, because storing weight then pushing a plane will just flatten you faster.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

When you're seriously contemplating buying Elantris yet again just for the additional final stinger scene and nothing else. -
Ruin making atium would defeat the point. Ruin wanted to reabsorb the atium to regain the investiture taken from his body and overpower Preservation. Making more would just doom himself to defeat. He doesn't need the actual metal, just what the metal is made of: that missing piece of himself. Economically speaking, infusing the rarest metal in existence (to the point of almost not existing outright) into an apple would drive up the price considerably. She was taking a jab at the unreasonable pricing by offering an absurd scenario for the seller to justify it with.

It's always better to wash it down though. It probably tastes terrible. Speaking of, what does Marsh even eat? Compounded nutrition?

Besides asking Harmony, he'd probably have to test himself. It's how mistings figure out what they have anyway. And yeah, they probably burn nonstop. Shouldn't be too difficult since the ministry was probably loaded with cash. Wonder how Marsh gets by now though. Maybe the kandra buy it for him? Apparently you can just burn the spike, but it hurts like hell.

Did you literally just say that an iron compounder would be better at pulling planes than an iron compounder?

Pretty sure dead people lack souls, so how do you spike them? Wikipedia tells me early real-life sequins are metal, so probably that. Not sure what in Damnation you're going on about with atium and food. Why would they need to come often? They're part of Sazed, and he isn't some 99% mindless shadow that can't control anything like Leras was. Brettin was TenSoon, I'm pretty sure. Presumably the Remarked Duplicity was when TenSoon murdered OreSeur and impersonated him. Iron mistings burn iron. Period. That's all they do, and I see no reason that they can burn the proposed alloy when they can't burn steel either. Just from the two Sel books alone there are at least blatantly 4 already, maybe 5. Though they can be interpreted as 1 as well. Harmony can always just make atium directly. I quickly looked up the spike itself though, and it was asked and RAFO'd.

Hemalurgy steals spiritual genes and staples it to someone else, basically. Allomancy spikes only contain the ability to perform allomancy. So you can't really change the charge, especially since what the spike can contain depends on what it is made of. Vin is dead and passed on, unlike Kelsier who is dead and decidedly still around. The mist is formed out of Preservation, who Sazed technically is. Vin also never physically boosted anything directly that I recall, all she did for Elend was fuel his metal reserves, which include pewter. There's also the fact that Wax's replacement earing basically looks more or less exactly like Vin's earing.

We do have a relatively good guess for the author of the AA though, I believe. And it isn't Hoid. General assumption is apparently that Khriss does all the writing, and occasionally sends Nazh off on bogus errands so that he can come back with a decent map of the place or illustrations of something. Whether it's actually Khriss or not, I think it's confirmed that the author is Nazh's boss.

To troll us, for one. Sanderson is like Hoid. You just never know for sure with Hoid.

Rust is the decay of metal, in a way, and as Argent says Ruin is about decay and change. Plus literally every idiom and expression in their era is a reference to metal. Bad alloy, pinch of copper, etc. The closest shard to Ruin we know of, IIRC, is supposed to be Cultivation. Which I guess makes sense. Without Honor around she'd likely go around killing things off in the name of progress and improvement or something for all we know.

If you want to be philosophical about it, feruchemical atium basically manipulates at what stage your body has decayed towards. It might not really ruin anything, but it's still sort of in theme, I guess. Allomantic atium also basically makes you an unstoppable killing machine, but that's more in practice than in functionality, so that's kinda pushing it. Hemalurgic atium is apparently so good at ripping souls to shreds that it can steal anything. I suppose that's ruinous enough . . .

Preventing decay I can see, but I'm not sure recharging is possible. Remember, it's not just raw investiture inside the spike, it's a complex but constantly decaying structured fragment of a spiritweb. Reconstructing the charge will at the very least be a major pain in the backside, and deep knowledge in spiritual genetics.

Plus I'm not sure what impaling Miles to something would do. He'd just rip himself out of it and regenerate. I doubt he's stupid enough to embed his metalminds on just his limbs, so he can even just tear his arms off. The actual impalement already does nothing.

Well to be fair Odium isn't on Roshar either . . .

Someday Wayne will be out of health, then finds a set of gold bracers in a trunk during a fight with Harmony giving an imperceptible You're Welcome. On a serious note, I wonder if kandra can digest metal . . .

And yet, as I said, Nalthis is the only major Shardworld so far that doesn't posses magic systems that outnumber the shards inhabiting it. And that's probably only because there was only one shard there for realmatics to act on.
-
It'd be amusing if the Shin had actually been exporting ducks and parrots the whole time to see if anyone noticed, then kept the chickens to themselves.
-
Roshar has 3 shards, yet the Ars Arcanum is convinced that there ought to be a fourth system simply because there are exactly three shards and that's how realmatics work. Odium isn't even on Roshar proper, at that, but is on Braize. Then you have Ashyn in the same solar system, with its own minor system of magic despite complete absence of shards. AonDor and the other thing I can never spell properly aren't even opposites, as ChayShan, Forgery, and Bloodsealing (likely very different from forging) also exist, and as it stands you can very well have a system for every major country/race, all of which are probably using the Dor as the power source.

Because then the balance is tipped, and he'll be slowly corrupted into something that wants to end the world. With nothing to stop him, and twice as strong.

Kinda mentioned it, but it's nice to have an actual thing it answer it with.
