Cross-Cosmere Duel: Kaladin/Vin/Hrathen vs. Raoden/Denth/Eshonai
natc replied to Varyn's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I'll have to bring up the potential disparity between local gravity and what they are used to, and how it may affect people in combat. Vin's jumping takes the biggest hit. -
Then as long as it is physically lerasium it is preservation's body even if it was made out of someone else? Time to slam together a stormspren using breaths in that accelerator.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

It can't be the ground though. All objects exert gravitational force on all other objects, so the connection is actually between everything and everything else. -
I'd like to point out that she committed the first of the aforementioned murders using Pattern as a weapon. That is absolutely not what attracted Pattern.

Breeze did one heck of a job putting up with Kelsier's noble-killing obsession considering that he was a pure noble himself. Doesn't even look disturbed. But I vote for Goradel. Maybe Demoux.
-
Yeah, I'll just process a bead of lerasium in the accelerator and become mistborn using the body of Ru- Something tells me that's never going to work.

[Theory/speculation] 'Main' Characters + Knight's Radiant
natc replied to JellyFishxD's topic in Stormlight Archive
Adhesion only affects local air pressure and generates vacuums. -
So I can just fiddle with nuclear fission/fusion enough and I can just become mistborn by swallowing the results even without contact with Preservation or his investiture once. Or even realizing he exists and just downing it by dumb luck. That's just awkward to contemplate.
-
The older you are the more it takes to be at a specific age from tapping. Being constantly just 5 years younger or so is nice though.

The theory I've seen and like is that he tries to mindscrew you and mess with the information right before it enters the metalmind. Like rewiring a keyboard without touching the computer memory. Aluminum pops up in the strangest of places and the full implications of its properties is unknown. There's definitely no magnetic force going on in the usually referenced sense, as allomancy can establish steel/iron lines even to trace metals in humans and ink (nearly everything really) and TLR managed to even vibrate the stained glass windows with his pushes while fighting Vin. Though I do want to point out that you can magnetize anything from a lump of iron to a frog to liquid oxygen.

It would imply it is possible to synthesize the god metals if the difference is simply nuclear. The difference between normal and god metal probably lies in a different realm than physical, at which point it would be impossible to decipher their nuclear structure without just asking Sanderson and there would be no reason for them not to just be a mundane element heavily modified.

Which Brandon Book Would do Best on TV or the Big Screen?
natc replied to jrh1524's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Um. . . they've already had two movies since then last I checked. Just not by Miyazaki, who IIRC has retired after The Wind Rises. -
Good luck getting ninth heightening and a thousand breaths to test that question :3 It might even just be Nightblood 2.0 and become a shardblade, where it just vaporizes you or worse. btw Scadrial metal is 100% normal.

[Theory/speculation] 'Main' Characters + Knight's Radiant
natc replied to JellyFishxD's topic in Stormlight Archive
Judging from the excerpt on tor.com he literally just shows up at Hearthstone on foot out of stormlight. And that's supposed to be the literal first chapter. Terminal velocity is pretty damnation fast, it seems. Hundreds of miles in 10 hours or so of freefall before he ran out. -
Every member of a specific order has the same surges, yes. Barring honorblade-wielding Radiants. So yeah, Renarin can heal and presumably grow things, as well as lightweave. Braize is a planet in the Greater Roshar solar system, which includes Braize, Roshar, and Ashin (spelling?). It is referred to by name in ancient texts, supposedly, but the prevailing religion of the cultures we know of calls it Damnation. Religion gets things wrong a lot, you know. Odium doesn't need to manifest abnormally to facilitate that response, you know. He's Odium, mind and instincts dominated by pure hatred and the power of creation itself coursing through his veins; a being just shy of absolute godhood, and he wants you gone. He's torn three other gods to pieces in his career (other two are a story for another day). Anyone who can sense his influence appearing would ruin their literal and metaphorical pants.

But since you can't see a dismissed shardpen, the original color would be indeterminate and is essentially any color you want. It is therefore all colors at once until observed (not currently possible to observe it) and it both changed and didn't change color. So that's not a very good way to determine awesomeness level.
-
Tone doesn't come across very well on the internet, and honestly that could've gone either way.
-
There's a small chance they would become self-aware by the time Odium comes for them . . .

Well thanks for not even contradicting me :/

Hemalurgic theft of age? Can you and who would you spike with it
natc replied to Arook's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It's not that dying is required and more that lethally sized spikes are often used for supposed efficiency, IIRC, so they end up with a gaping hole in them and bleed out. The extent of the spiritual damage alone is not necessarily lethal, but I imagine still dangerous. -
Dormant mistings snapped by the mist apparently have the potential that was buried too deep to function awakened by the power, so there probably is a minimum threshold somewhere.
-
The whole point of causing that entire conflict was so Leras can manipulate a new holder to kill Ati, because he is consciously unable to destroy, while Ati is consciously forced to destroy. Ati was a very kind man, reportedly. Ruin is not. Sazed also is not the non-interference type of person. The distortion to their personalities is extensive.
-
There were probably intelligent spren before that though right? The Adonalsium-type. They might have gained sentience by then. But yeah, that's closer to what I was thinking. The majority of spren began favoring humans since they were low in number to begin with.
-
It's kind of lame to do that with no mistborn, and there's no evidence of the previous shards ever "creating" new elements. So you just have this chunk of likely radioactive stuff.
