make what you will of it (Game)

both seem nice at first...but left unchecked either $h!t all over everything... Chouta is like Texas... -
Yeah...they're on par with your typical medieval adventure book (no real magic) only all of the characters are woodland creatures native to England. All of the good guys are mice, moles, hedgehogs, otters, hares, squirrels, badgers, etc...all of the bad guys are rats, stoats, foxes, lizards, etc... ...The reason I brought it up...each species of animal tends to have an accent or style of speech...and the chull monologue listed above sounds exactly like one of Brian Jacques' hares.

I think we figured out how Wit can get his "100 chasmfiends marching in unison singing odes to my glory!" (hopefully with monicles, tophats, and bushy mustaches...add twirling canes like some old stage dance routine for good measure...) ..."Hello my baby! Hello my honey! Hello my ragtime gal!" also...take my upvotes...this is hilarious... ...by the way...have either of you read any Brian Jacques?

Ah the pros and cons of having a sexual relationship witha creepy corpse eating shape shifter slug... Well, I'm immortal and can look like any woman you want me to...but we can't have kids...and if you ever make me mad you're going to wake up the morning after sex next to a big fat creepy guy... ...I wonder how long before this one gets shut down too?

By the way I love that seen...

The person you're buying them from probably understands them a lot better than you do... You should never, ever, buy one "used"... When you put a lot of fish in either...they makes really bad smells... (upvote to I-beard for the wonderland reference...I pulled off a awsome mad hatter one year for haloween, it's the character that's easier to do the drunker you get!) How is a Jabawaki like a spren? -

The more layers you peel off of them the worse they smell? Becoming a new sanderfan is like getting elected for office... -
Welcome to the shard! Have an upvote! If I were you...I would make your question my first thread in cosmere theories!

welcome to the shard! have an upvote for saying (typing) "bubbling likely-nonsense"

Neither one has feet (just kidding) uuuuummmmm..... They're all over the place but you hardly ever notice them unless you're looking? The pure lake is New Jersey... -
so...in trying to figure out what we might see in other shards...I stumbled across a wikipedia page about the attributes of god in Christianity. There's 27 of them on the list...but I think (just a hunch really) that this may have something to do with where Brandon came up with the 16 intents. Or...maybe...it's just an independent reference for what a group of people looked for in a monotheistic god with a consciousness. They are: Aseity, Goodness, Graciousness, Holiness, Immanence, Immutability, Impassibility, Impeccability, Incorporeality, Incomprehensibility, Infinity, Jealousy, Love, Mission, Mystery, Omnipotence, Omnipresence, Omniscience, Oneness, Providence, Righteousness, Simplicity, Sovereignty, Trancendence, Trinity, Veracity, Wrath Aseity = Autonomy, Immutability = Preservation, Wrath = Odium, Sovereignty = Dominion, Devotion = Love, Righteousness = Honor, Simplicity (as in, not composed of parts) = Ruin (breaks things down), Providence = Cultivation, I'm not sure where endowment would fit in. You also have Trinity as one of these attributes...and as we all know...the simultaneous existence in the spiritual, cognitive, and physical is one of the cornerstones of the cosmere. I think that Oneness kind of gets thrown out as an intent...because we are talking about 16 different things that at one time were one. Also, things like Incomprehensibility and Infinity may not make good candidates simply because they are very difficult to define (infinite). Any body else see any possible candidates?

Marasi, the Trap: where do you store your metal?
hoidhunter replied to Pechvarry's topic in Mistborn
I think you eat metal whenever you want...and just visit a leecher each night before bed... -
"There's a banana in your drawer." Later that day, Aradel is killed in the line of duty. Two weeks later, his office starts to REALLY stink, and the ?th octant has fruit flies for ever after...

Both require you to show your work for justification... investiture is like duct tape... -
While I really liked the character that Brandon created in Ym...I seriously doubt that we will be seeing him again. I would also be more than a little disappointed if he did make a return. As some of my fellow sharders have pointed out in this post...you need to maintain a level of danger and finality in your fictional universe. While it's not a terrible sin to have the occasional character come back from the dead...or to have somehow survived when the audience thinks that they're dead...if you play that card too often, the story gets boring. I think the most interesting part of Ym's interlude was his explanation of the universe. I believe that Ym is a practitioner of a VERY old theology in the cosmere...perhaps even one that dates back to the shattering...much like the worldsinger / worldbringer philosophy we see elsewhere.

Sorry for the double post...mobile. I feel that the "zombie apocalypse" is a literary device or shortcut to "worst case scenario". A situation where anyone can try to eat you...everyone is panicked...and modern conveniences are unavailable. Yes it would be easy to hold up in a condo...but for how long? A week...a month...a year? Do you really trust your neighbors? Is the government coming to help you? Is anyone in the building sick? What is life like elsewhere?
-
Which raises the question...what would double spiking do? Particularity for feruchemy. What does it mean to have double feruchemical zinc? We only get to see what double seeker and double steel do with allomancy.
-
And most people only focus on the physical and mental metals...feruchemy allows you to do some wild stuff once you get into the spiritual metals...we know very little about them...but if you've read BoM...you know what I mean.
-
I've always been in the feruchemy camp. In my everyday life there's just more times that I'd need to...say...eat all the leftover food and store the nutrition in bendalloy to save money vs. throw handfuls of pennies like bullets. I've got an 18 month old at home...and I can't tell you how bad I wish I had been able to store up and extra 1 or 2 hours of sleep each night while my wife was pregnant...vs...burning pewter to stave off exhaustion and getting all pewter draggy... Also...I think that storing attributes wouldn't be as difficult as some people think. I work a desk job...and would have no issues with storing strength constantly while at work. Like many other people on the forum (I assume) I read a lot as well (and books on cd are always fun) things like physical speed and strength, hearing, etc. really wouldn't be tough to store while binging a sanderson novel. Then...you have the things that are useful either way...in the 1st world, being able to store away excess nutrition from the food you eat would be a great way to keep a healthy diet. Storeing weight would often be more useful that tapping it. Being able to store heat when you're too hot and tap it when you're too cold would give you a free and perfect environmental control system. Not to mention: EDIT: decided to delete this spoiler While allomancy certainly has some awsome and exciting applications for real life...I think feruchemy is the pragmatic choice. Besides...I really just want to go out for a week of back country camping carrying a small pouch of metalminds as my only supplies and laugh as my friends lug around 100lb framed packs!

While I can't remember the specific quote off the top of my head (and I'm not going to find it...sorry) we actually get a in book reference to someone else having the visions...in current time...letting us know that Dalinar IS not the only person recieving them...I've always pondered the significance of this...

While i'm in love with the fiction...I kind of agree. at least the walking dead gives some explanation as to how it got so far out of hand...it's still flimsy though. I think this is evidenced in the let down that is "Fear the walking dead."
