That particular mechanic is for the games that are meant to run fast--just the Quick Fixes for now, but once we get the middle tier up, those will also have that mechanic. The longer games shouldn't be killing inactives.

Or this. I know how much you liked the swords, Emperor of the Chaotic Forces.

My Lord Chaos, since thou seemest not to have seen my request to bequeath a title upon me, I rescind it since I happened upon a fitting title myself. I hereby present for your approval: Darth Wilsonus, Harbinger of Betrayal (please note that this is not for betrayal of the Lords of Chaos. To that I am and always will be loyal. Betrayal simply helps to inspire chaos in others.)

To answer the questions I received during the Everstorm: Yes. Their protective ability extends to whomever they choose, including themselves. Yes. Double-targeting an unprotected Sharder will kill them.- 384 replies

Mid-Range Game 1: The Stormfather and The Nightwatcher

I posted this in the docs, but just so everyone knows: Prayers to the Nightwatcher will continue until 6AM MDT, due to the Everstorm. If you would like to make a prayer, make sure it's in by that time, otherwise it will not count. (Still wait until after the Everstorm ends to submit those prayers or any action and votes.)- 384 replies

A chaotic oath with so much order.....Would it not be better to sheathe as he says draw and draw as he says sheathe? Come as he says go, and go as he says come? No?
-
Except that in this case, it's "come to the dark side. We have hateful waffles." Which is infinitely better. Also, as for my title among the Lords and Ladies of Chaos, I am content with allowing the Chaotic One himself to place me wherever he would like, with whatever grand title that suits his chaotic fancy. I'm sure I will approve.

Just so everyone knows, I just added a Table of Contents to the first post in this thread. If you see any games I missed (or if I didn't link to the latest version of the game), let me know, and I'll add them in. I'm pretty sure I got them all. I went through the thread a few times to make sure, but who knows? And as games are posted, we'll make sure to keep it up-to-date.
-
We've talked about adding another tier to the games, between the Main Games and the Quick Fixes. Tempus' definitely does fall into what a Quick Fix should be--since I envision those as not only fast-running but also simple. But at the same time, more complex games that are set to run very quickly don't quite fall into the Main Game category, so...yeah. We're working it out, have no fear. I talked to Rubix about the sub-forum idea. He says adding more sub-forums to the RP forum would make it too messy. Additionally, a subforum specifically for game creation would be filled with threads with just a few responses before they are forgotten, and that just seems like unnecessary clutter. I know a couple people have expressed issues with this thread's length, but I guess I'd like to know the exact problems with it, from those and anyone else who thinks there are problems with this thread. The better we know what issues people have, the better we can come up with a solution here in this subforum. Thanks!

That is a statement I never thought I'd hear. Ever. What happened to the rivalry?! It was one of the pillars of the universe! Chaos and Monsta do not get along, and here you go joining his faction? That said, I love me some Chaos. And Disorder. Bring it. Yes, this is my request to join, oh Wise and Chaotic Eric Lord Ruler, First and Only of His Name, Emperor of the Cosmere and Enemy of Order. This is perfect, as I was trying to decide which faction would have the honor of my membership...

Mid-Range Game 1: The Stormfather and The Nightwatcher
little wilson replied to Rubix's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Question time! The tweet will be copied and pasted from what Macen sends Rubix. More information past that will be available upon your passing. The Shamed Guard rabble rouses a specific person. Assuming the ardent isn't guarding them or martyring themselves for them, yes. Double targeting either the Freed Bridgeman or an unspooked Sharder will kill them.- 384 replies

Any votes or actions sent in during the highstorm will not be recorded, and the thread will be locked, so no RPing during the highstorm either. Actions and votes sent in before or after the highstorm count. After you die, you'll be part of the dead doc. The tweet is something the entire dead doc puts together for each cycle, led by the person (or, in this case, people) who died first (so Weiry and Macen have final say in the doc itself and one of them will send it to Rubix, who will give the yes or no (probably yes) on if it's good to go in the write-up). So the tweet you help with will be on the write-up the day after you died. Well, the thread will be locked, so it's impossible to ask questions on there. Through PM, though? If they're game-play related questions, you can send them to me and I'll answer them after the highstorm. But nothing will be answered during.- 384 replies

More questions! Both would be protected. Flavor-wise, view it that the apothecary is protecting everyone they consider a merchant. They don't know who the disloyal spies are, so the apothecary protects them as well as all the other merchants (and loyal spies). No. If it makes you feel any better, the person who attacked doesn't know why they failed either... Ish? If the person would be lynched, the ardent will be lynched instead. The same goes for any other kill against the protected individual. Basically, that person cannot die the night the ardent is being a martyr.- 384 replies

Yeah, I don't have the ability to do that. If we were to make a subforum for it (which isn't a bad idea, since this is getting long, and it is getting a little hard to sift through), I'd want it to be more "Art of Creating a Game" rather than a role though. Since the vast majority of this is game creation, involving setting, rules, and roles, rather than just the roles themselves. Just a personal preference though.

Mid-Range Game 1: The Stormfather and The Nightwatcher

Clarified with Josh about the Steward's immunity. It is not affected by the Worldsinger. No. The Shamed Guard's Rabble Rouse ability still counts as a role ability. The Steward is not affected. Yes. The Shamed Guard's kills do not count as his ability to make them has been silenced. Essentially....I'm hesitant to really call it "order" since it's a riot, but I get what you're going for. In the way we sort out what happened, that is pretty much the way it goes, although I view everything between the Worldsinger silencing and the kills (including lynching, since all the kills happen at the same time) as happening simultaneously. Yes. Yes. So long as you are not going to the Nightwatcher, you can use your abilities and vote on the same day, regardless of how many abilities you have (although most of those are one-shots). The Worldsinger can silence someone, change a person's vote, and vote themselves. The same goes for all other roles with dual abilities. Note here about the ardent: In the main rules, we said the ardent's protection ability didn't work if they martyred. Since all the other dual abilities can be used on the same day, including one-shots, we've changed that. If you martyr, the person you were guarding survives (assuming they were attacked).- 384 replies

Next batch of questions. Also, if you asked a question earlier and it hasn't been answered, I probably didn't see it. If you want to repeat it, I'll respond. Just make sure to put it in blue so it sticks out (I'm at work currently and don't have time to read in-depth all the RPs, so I'm mostly speed-reading those and focusing more on blue text). I don't want anyone to feel they got skipped over, questions-wise. This is correct. I was referring to a situation where the Shamed Guard is killed that day. If the target he chose was already up for death, his action was essentially wasted, since that person would die with or without that. However, if the Shamed Guard doesn't die but words his action like that ("If I die, kill X"), it doesn't matter if person X dies. Shamed Guard does still have that ability, since it wasn't used. Make sense? Good question. It's still a coin-toss. (The reason I use "cointoss" here is because it's 50-50 what the outcome will be. The fake Voidbringer knows the person isn't of their faction, so they won't see their faction. So it'll be one of the other two). Passive abilities like double lives cannot be canceled. I'm going to ask Rubix's opinion on the immunity, and then I'll follow-up on that part of the question. I'm inclined to say that yes, it would be, but don't quote me on that yet. Silencing someone means they can't act or vote. So if the Worldsinger silences the Freed Bridgeman, the Bridgeman's vote doesn't count. As for a the vote change, it's both the votes, since while the Bridgeman has two votes, he doesn't cast twice. He casts once, but there's more power behind his vote (making it a double vote). The Worldsinger silencing actions happen simultaneously and are the first to resolve. Therefore, if Worldsinger A silences a Ghostblood, the Ghostblood's kill doesn't happen. But if Worldsinger B silences Worldsinger A, the Ghostblood is free to make that kill (and he would never even know there was a chance he wouldn't have been able to). The Sharders are free to reveal themselves whenever they choose to. They just can't reveal their alignment (or other Sharders). But if you know the two spying ones have been spooked, and someone comes forward saying they're a Sharder, logic tells you they must be loyal (unless it's someone actually on your team lying to you....).- 384 replies

Not necessarily. It depends on the action. Yes, and they occur simultaneously. This is a riot, and riots tend to lack a bit in the whole "order" category. One or another, the person is dead. How they got to that state doesn't matter as much. Yes. If you need to update your vote, and the rollover time hasn't passed, you can change your vote twice. Is the guard's death action wasted? Technically, yes. That person would be dying with or without the guard choosing them. The guard doesn't get to pick anyone else and no additionally people will be lynched.- 384 replies

Whoever PM'd last would get the role-change. The reason is that the second Worldsinger came along after the first. Doesn't matter what the vote was initially. He's just changing the vote to what he wants.- 384 replies

The votes are entirely secret. Only the most-voted person is revealed, and that's because they die. The number of votes against them and who voted for them remain secret, under most circumstances (if Rubix finds something funny he can put in a write-up, he'll probably do it). Also, if any of you have questions you've asked via PM to Rubix that haven't been answered, go ahead and add me to those PM's. His inbox got a little more bogged down with elimination game PMs than he'd originally anticipated.- 384 replies
