I love that Wellers is selling "personally inscribed" books (which I interpret as fair game to ask Brandon a question)! As an east coast Sharder, I won't get the chance to get a personally inscribed book from Brandon so near to the release date like Wellers is able to provide here! Awesomeness.

It's been a while since I've read Elantris, but if I recall correctly, the four circles surrounding Aon Rao are the four Gate Cities that surround Elantris. Of these, only Kae still is inhabited during Elantris. I cannot recall what the other three cities are called. When Raoden was up at the "lake" he realized that Elantris took the shape of Aon Rao, with each Gate City one of the four circles, and that the chasm needed to be included. That's how he fixed the Dor. Remember that the magic on Sel is location specific, so that is why the base Aon Aon requires the physical characteristics of Arelon before any other Aon can be completed.

I hadn't come to the Random Stuff II page yet today, and came to the same conclusion when I posted a thread in the SA section of the forum. However you beat me to the punch in thinking it looks like the Shattered Plains!
-
Who knew that Roshar is actually Pluto? New pictures of the surface of Pluto show what appears to be the Shattered Plains. The round war camps are even there, granted they're not all next to each other and we're missing a few. Maybe we're all wrong and Reckoners IS Cosmere because Roshar is in our solar system? Source: NASA Edit: Mestiv actually came to the same conclusion hours before me in the Random Stuff II thread.

But the storm was a bust! Philly was supposed to get 10 or so inches of snow and they only got about 1.5. If only it hadn't been cancelled in advance of the storm. Grrrrrr! @Andrew...yes, Boston is on the east coast but it's the only location on the east coast that Brandon is going to for this tour. If we lived in Miami, that'd be quite a trek to get there for a book signing. I live in DC and it's still a trek to get there: 434 miles with 6.5 to 8 hours of driving depending on traffic.

The last recording I did on my phone was a 42 minute interview that I conducted using an app called Recordium. I really like this app and use it frequently for my job. This meeting took up 109 MB of space on my phone, so I'd imagine that 1 GB of space should be enough for your recording. Granted, it may be a good idea anyway to clean out your phone to get rid of apps/pictures/videos/etc. you no longer need. Upload all of those things to the cloud or your computer and you won't even have to permanently get rid of them.

This has indeed been confirmed by WOB: source OP, just because TenSoon in Alloy of Law is currently Brettin does not mean that he can't be a worldhopper. We do know that there is a kandra worldhopper out there. Maybe Harmony will send Ten Soon off planet in future books or already has? Maybe he'll go on his own accord?

I understand how you'd feel upset about not having any other way to ask Brandon questions since he seems to neglect the East Coast for book tours (and Canada all together). However, you can always try to ask via Twitter! He sometimes answers questions there. I'm not sure if this AMA was deceiving in any way. If it's reddit's policy to archive AMAs after 6 months, then I see no fault in them following their SOP, even if the AMA was still fairly active. Maybe instead we can lobby them to re-open the AMA? Also, I feel blessed that Brandon participated in the AMA for so long! Even though he left a lot of questions unanswered, he kept coming back to answer some of them. Do you mostly feel deceived because questions you wanted answered weren't answered? In the end, we all learned a lot from Brandon and I wouldn't be surprised if he does another one sooner than later. Lastly, maybe we can lobby Brandon, Peter, Rubix, or any other staff at the 17th Shard for Brandon to come back and do an AMA/respond to questions here like he did in 2012?

When your four fantasy football teams are called the following: 1) Bridge 4 2) Airsick Lowlanders 3) Koloss Blooded 4) Numuhukumakiaki'aialunamor If I were to have a fifth team this year, it would've been called Patji's Finger -
Peter, when will we be able to see sample art from White Sand? This would be something I'd love to see! From the unpublished version, my head cannon images would yield what I'd argue would be awesome art and color juxtapositions.

Argent, due to correlations obviously being causation...your most recent remarks have killed the AMA! There are no reply links anymore to any posts and the box to write a new question to Brandon is gone. Did Brandon finally decide to end his 6 month AMA?

Plenty of emoji, however non are Cosmere related as have been discussed recently . The level of procrastination, though, is top notch in my book. Time travel is cool, but even though I'm a procrastinator, I want it yesterday. Overall, a solid 7.5 out of 10. -
The problem with breeding a mistborn is that it could take generations to do so since there haven't been any for quite some time. It seems that the power has been diluted and, if I recall correctly, The Lord Mistborn was the last one. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) Thus, it may be easier to "build" a mistborn, the same way TLR did with his Inquisitors. You breed enough misting babies=>spike them=>spike their power into someone else=>mistborn. You could do this in one generation, no problem, if you have enough women of the strongest allomantic lines (aka the line of The Lord Mistborn) paired with a male lineage with strong allomantic history: the Ladrians. This all assumes that hemalurgy has been rediscovered by The Set, of course, which I'd speculate is the case given the information in the "book" that we already know about.

Iron Eyes, I'd forgotten about that conversation from Clerks. One of the best things about that movie is the dialogue. Keven Smith was at the top of his game with that one. But I agree with the roofer. Those contractors on the Death Star had to have known that there was a chance they could get blown up...the first one had been blown up by a known rebel faction, why wouldn't the second one while still under construction also then be a target? Even if it was know to be operational by the Rebels while still being built (which they didn't think it was)...it theoretically should be easier to destroy. Also, why would the Empire build exactly the same weapon? I find it kind of cheap that George Lucas uses the same WMD in the third film. Not very original, if you ask me. Hence another reason why it's third on the list for me out of the original trilogy.
-
Thanks for the update Slater, I'll add these to the OP.
-
Hence why I rated it the best of the newest trilogy. Granted, I hated this: If I were to speculate, however, I think the Force Awakens will be amazing. I love JJ Abrams and think the movie will be in good hands with him.
-
Hands down no Star Wars movie is better than The Empire Strikes Back. With George Lucas not actually directing it, we received a brilliant movie. The newest trilogy on the other hand, as Twi references, shouldn't even exist. They are some of the worst movies ever made. However, if you were to force me to rank all 6, it'd look like this: 1) Empire Strikes Back 2) A New Hope 3) Return of the Jedi 4) Revenge of the Sith 5) Attack of the Clones 6) The Phantom Menace When I was younger, I used to think Return of the Jedi was the best of the original trilogy. Now, however, I love the darkness to Empire Strikes Back and the character development was the deepest in the series. In Return of the Jedi, Mark Hamill as Luke seemed too forced. In the previous two, Luke was more naive and Hamill acted that part much better and made it believable. Oh...and the Ewoks. I loved them as a kid, but now I think they're ridiculous.

Good luck Twi! I'd vote for the Maryland university because that's in my backyard and my father and uncle went to UMD...at least for a little while. If you could pick any of those three locations as your top choice, which would it be and why?

And this one about cats is mine, because I really do believe that this is what my old cat would've done if given the chance:

I really like this idea, because I too believe that Nightblood is not insignificant in any way. This has lead me to think about what an Ascended Nightblodium would be like. Sure, he'd probably go wherever Vin and Sazed go when they Ascend. However, we do know that sometimes Shard's take a form in the Physical Realm. Would Nightblodium come back as his sword? If so, he'd LITERALLY be a true Shardblade. The next question is, who would wield him and why? Would he allow whoever wields him to destroy evil as they define it?

Twi, I'm late to the game here, but don't feel bad about not being able to afford a pug or being able to find an adoptable pug. One day, you will find the pug that is perfect for you, and the two of you will be as happy as can be. Just like I am with my rescued boy, SiMon, in my life: SiMon says "Oh hey hi Twi and other Sharders!"
