  1. "Pfft." Melend said. "I'm not afraid of no ghosts. By the power of the Sliver of Infinity, I command you to BEGONE FROM THIS VILLAGE OF IDIOTS SKAA!!!"
  2. Melend sighed inwardly as he looked upon Ament's stash of gloves. It seemed the man had never been spiked. Tonight was a tragedy. After all, where would Melend get his tailored gentleman's suits now? These skaa just didn't know how to execute someone properly. When one of them had grabbed an axe, Melend had been a little excited to see a "Luthadel-Style" execution go down again. It would have been sort of nostalgic to see the man's blood running through the town's drinking water. Instead, they'd just beheaded him on the spot. Melend glanced behind him, to where Ament's blood was still spurting out onto the ground. Such a waste... Several plumes of smoke still rose among the town's buildings, one of which was the tavern where Melend had been staying until recently. Melend had lost several fine suits to that fire, but at least that annoying pastry vendor had been killed. Reeco had tried to push Melend into trying his "pizza" concoction several times, despite Melend's insistence that he would never deign to consume commoner food, no matter how delicious it smelled (it was bad for his image!) The street was now running with Ament's blood. Villagers were edging away from the pool and heading over to the burnt ruin of the tavern, trying to find some sort of familiarity in a village that was being torn apart from the inside out. Melend walked over and checked the man's body for metal shavings. Pockets? Nothing. Pouch? Nothing. Shoes? Nothing. Pifferdoo, who had been jointly ransacking the shop for vials, peeked out the doorframe and shook his head. Ament was not a rioter, as Melend had suspected. Tomorrow, Melend would try to ferret out the source of that vote manipulation. Someone was influencing these poor, foolish, skaa into carrying out these executions so ineffectively. He was certain. He just had to figure out who.
  3. *shrug* The spiked almost certainly have a rioter, and that rioter is probably you or Unodus. Right now, we still have enough voting power that we can handle 1 or 2 mislynches. If it turns out you're not spiked, Unodus is next. That's about it.
  4. We don't know, I suppose, but we've repeatedly seen joint soothing/rioting actions.
  5. Back on my PC. So I would assume that the spiked have both a soother and a rioter. Dowanx and Unodus are the most obvious candidates for the rioter role. I see Unodus as unlikely because it would be absolutely stupid for the spiked to be using his powers so obviously. Either way, if Dowanx turns out not to be the rioter in question, I'm all for lynching Unodus next time around. EDIT: By the way, thanks to JasonPenguin and Newan.
  6. I just checked the last time Dowanx was on, and it looks like he's been getting on the forum a lot more than he's been posting. My poke vote goes on him for now. (How do you use color in a mobile?) Okay. Here: Dowanx
  7. Good call, Sarcomere. Serves him right for breaking your spatula. Alright. We've got 72 hours to figure out someone who he was coordinating with. (I'm getting off right now though)
  8. Earth year: 24 hours * 365.25 days = 8769.6 Hours Roshar year: 20 hours * 500 days = 10000 Hours So the characters are older, but not too much older. Each Roshar year is 1.14 times as much as an Earth year. Ten-year-old Kaladin would actually be 11, by our reckoning. It's slightly different, but not too much.

  10. Weiry. I haven't posted on the whole Weiry fiasco yet, but let me just say that I'm a fan of evidence. The fact that copper was on Weiry is a far better reason to lynch him than any circumstantial evidence can provide. The fact that he was in contact with (or was) a lurcher or Mistborn strengthens that assertion even more, which is why I'm voting for Riew.
  11. They're not completely either one. All of them draw from the energy of both Shards.
  12. I'm pretty sure we call it FjorDor (what the Dakhor Monks do) but each Selian magic system is a mixed bag, Shardwise.
  13. Since when did I post those cities? I think you're seeing things.
  14. Yeah, I was wondering about that one.

  19. We've seen soothings on nights 3 and 4. That implies that the eliminators have that form of vote leverage.
  20. Not sure if this helps the discussion or not, but a few months ago, I think I found another stone like this on Sel. It's Sarene's wedding gift to Raoden, a pendant that's described like this: "Somewhere, [sarene] had found a heavy black stone that polished up as if it were metal, and its reflective darkness complimented [Raoden's] silvery skin." Both of these planets were visited by Rayse, and both have splintered shards on them.

  22. We're not really at that point yet, Unodus. Plus, we probably only have one seeker (maybe two), so the probability of them finding someone is pretty low. We just need to lynch again until we get someone, which gives us something to work with. With a coinshot and a lynch, we can still outkill the eliminators. EDIT: oh, hey, Claincy beat me to the punch.
  23. I don't think you can really draw a bead on any particular culture here. The clothes, for certain, are pretty unique, and I'm not sure that gender roles are so sharply defined in any earth culture. It's actually really special, culturally
  24. You're reading too much into the word "catalyst". The simplest definition of the word is: "A person or thing that precipitates an event or change." It doesn't necessarily mean a biological catalyst. And remember that when this magic system was being created, Sanderson came up with the effects first, then figured out the mechanics later. It's not going to make perfect sense, but then, neither do any of the magic systems (Feruchemy especially)
